Double XP! Spread the word.

Apparently its not common enough knowledge yet, so break out that friends list and double check that your associates aren't running around without their Double XP Weekend Buff.

Cryptic maybe you need to annoy everyone with a cut scene for this stuff?

Cut scenes for important things, the things that make people happy seeing them : teenage girl in see through skirt giving them a magical buff. Yay.

Anyway here's my first ten minutes of Double XP weekend.

[13:22] [Tell] C: Um, not sure, whats the best way to check?
[13:22] [Tell] B: Ummm don't think so
[13:22] [Tell] To C: should have an XP icon that says double xp weekend under your icon
[13:23] [Tell] C: Nope, I do not have that
[13:23] [Tell] To B: see Witchcraft at the city powerhouse on all your characters
[13:23] [Tell] To C: see Witchcraft at the city powerhouse on all your characters

[13:23] [CoX] Happy_Cox_Channel_Citizen: i really like how double xp works in co. so nice to know that ic an get at least 4 fours of it for every toon whether i play it this weekend or not

[13:23] [Tell] To C: buff lasts 4 hours can be replenishes as often as you need all weekend

I had to give up on the friend's list at this point. Sorry buddies.

    You can't force people to check dai...weekl...monthly, what is happening in a game they lov....lik...play.
    I wonder what happens when somekind of electronic 'web' kind of thing between computers happens and people are able to keep up with what happens in rest of the world and each others every second. That would be kind of a cool thing.
    You could you know, send a one informative message into your Friendchannel. No need to go thru whole shabang. Actually, i don't think i have ever gotten a /tell that is marked Friend. I think.

    Do you have several level 40s?
    Consolidate the currencies! (Please!)
    Does your Champion have a theme song? (share it!)
    Got a funny in-game screenshot? (share it!)
    Please fix the Overdrive energy unlock! (Should help promote thematic build diversity!)

    Or rather then annoy people with cut scenes, they could have these double xp weekends more often.

    As an individual this is nice, but on the whole, for the community, it's not a good idea to overdo this. There's drawbacks to this, the same drawbacks Smash Alerts created. I welcome the Double XP, but I also understand the reasons why it needs to be a special occurrence and not overdone.

    However...

    I would strongly recommend getting rid of unwanted and annoying "Vehicle Mod Hour" and instead increasing the XP, resource, and Questionite hour frequency. But that's getting somewhat off topic.
    Do you have several level 40s?

    What drawback other then people level faster? People ignore the same linear mission path that they've already done multiple times?

    It doesn't need to be every week, even every two or three months. There are some benefits to having the xp weekends, it draws players back to the game. At least from what I can see, there are a lot more people today then normal.

    Haven't Burst Alerts already made leveling easy enough? It seems like the double XP buff is just an added layer of overkill.

    And it doubles that XP amount too.

    I've gotten three toons to 40 already today.

    Every level 40 is another character slot for a subscriber.
    Character slots are good fun.

    Oh and going with the them of knowledge is power and all that.

    It wasn't, but after writing that, I felt that it was a perfectly valid Champions Online kind of name.

    Oops forgot my chat log. But yet another friend, someone who has a lifetime sub and has been playing two years, asked me "How do you know we have Double XP?"

    Sigh.
