Smoke Bomb vs Ninja Vanish

So.... finally had some surplus of Zen and decided to buy Ninja Vanish, even though many seem to hate it. From the way I see it... its not a travel power, but more of an utility skill, but that's beside the point I want to ask on this thread.

So I noticed a couple of things... first of all when you activate it in combat (unlike teleport) it won't activate the 8 second cooldown. Second it removes you from combat, not sure at this point if it wipes threat completely but at least makes enemies target someone else in the mean time. Paired with Sneak, you can actually enter stealth after a few seconds in Ninja Vanish mode.

Smoke bomb on the other hand, has a large cooldown... and removes you from combat and makes you go into stealth for a bit.

The question is... what's the tangible difference between smoke bomb and ninja vanish?? besides the obvious "one is a TP the other is a power"

So far to me... Ninja Vanish outclasses Smoke Bomb in every way really bad, but I could be wrong and that's why I am asking.

To put it short: Ninja Vanish is, by design, what smoke bomb was meant to be at no cost to the user other than the hit to energy/health regeneration while said power is in use(Also you can't use powers).

There is no point in ranking up Ninja Vanish unless you want to run away from things 'faster'. It provides the same amount of aggression/perception stealth at all levels and this aggression/perception stealth is the same 1k/1k for the full 20 second duration(Most mobs cannot find you if you have 1k/1k stealth).

Smoke bomb provides the same exact aggression/perception stealth as Ninja vanish does for 3-5 seconds(depending on the rank) then it drops dramatically to 20/270 - 30/270 for 12-20 Seconds(Mobs can smack you due to these pitiful numbers thus removing you from stealth).

Just to make things clear you aren't removed from combat(Also know as Placate) from any of these two. Mobs just have a short attention span when they can't find their target(They know you are there but can't find you)

Placated targets do not have you as their target and they instantly reset back to idle(resetting their hp as a result). Aggression/Perception stealth still has you as their target and melee mobs will travel to your last known location while they wait for their AI to reset them back to idle(and their hp resets due to this).

Thanks for your detailed answer, so it seems I wasn't as wrong as I thought about the power, tho didn't knew about the placate portion.

    Thanks!!!!
