Unban the unfairly banned players

My brother was banned for using emotes legally within the game rules, I'm sure others were as well. CO devs need to understand that these players have been unfairly banned and weren't the 1 player crashing the servers just a week ago. With my brother banned there is no point in me playing, and with the pvp community consisting of rarely enough players for a bash to pop the only conclusion I can make is that PWE are attempting to kill off CO slowly so they can redirect the servers.

Its simple enough "Devs" if you knew about the game and played it more than you play DCUO then you would understand what needs to change in the game. Until you unban players that are vital to the community I will be on Secret World, and I would ask all others with a brain to join me.

Wait your saying your brothers been perma banned for using a emote? seem unlikely that you would get that for just a emote

Yep, he was banned for using emotes as were other players. around a week and a half ago an ex-player called Kien@Flippy came onto the game to use a glitch (listen PWE) he would die then use emotes to crash the servers. The crashing was caused by this 1 player, yet a whole chunk of the community suffered bans. The dev's who banned these key players must look at the games state, since the ban hammer fell, Bash rarely has 3 players none of the larger pvp instances have happened and AH prices have suffered a dramatic fall (around 50% for some high priced important items).

But he did try to crash the servers by doing "the thing that crashes the servers"?
Or he was just innocently doing few emotes? While dead?
Cryptic banned "Key players vital to community"?
    By accident?

OMG! You have stumbled onto PW's top secret plan to shutdown the CO servers by banning PVPers, one player at a time.

    Zoinks! Curse you meddling kids.

    Answering your questions flyingfinn:
did try to crash the servers by doing "the thing that crashes the servers"? Nope only one player named Kien was doing that in RenCen
was just innocently doing few emotes? Yes, He was dancing around the powerhouse arena to escape ffom the server crashes in rencen
While dead? Nope, so he broken no rules and used no glitches
Cryptic banned "Key players vital to community"? These players meant that pvp was up at least a few times a night and items were worth more because these players were the ones with a great chuck of the money collecting costumes and devices.
By accident? Cryptic banned players by ignorance of the situation. They didn't even know how the guy was crashing the servers hence the fact that they disabled all emotes and banned players that had been using emotes. (emotes don't crash servers PWE, glitches do... Learn that)

    @neuraldamage

These players didn't just pvp, the main problem was that they were wrongly banned in the first place. Traders and role players were also banned in the ban hammer. Anyone that was using emotes while the servers were messing up was banned infact. I'm just happy I wasn't using emotes or I would be in my brothers situation. Then again the game means nothing to me now since many of the players I have played with have been banned, or left because their friend had been banned for no reason.

You REALLY think that I would do that? Seeing as I only found out about it a few minutes before TT did and never even used it. Infact I was never even dead I don't think in those 4 hours. I have no idea why you think I was anything to do with the servers coming down. Why would I want to take the zones down anyway? Have I ever said any hate towards CO? NO. I've always defended the game and here you are pointing the finger at me even though all I was doing was hitting two keys after each other each with ONE single emote bound to them by using /bind [key] emote_notext [emote].

Don't be single minded in this matter, cryptic had no way to tell who was bringing the servers down but they did have a way to see how many emotes people used in that specific time. I used 2,200 emote total, green machine used 22,000 and the guy who was bringing the servers down (probably kien@flippy) but on his alternate account of course (who would be stupid enough to do this thing on their main account) would have done an emote over 100,000 times. Unless he spread it across various accounts.

My brother has created this thread as he see's that there is not so much of a goal in champions with my from the game, he is a paying customer who puts money into the game, there are a few others who are now on the brink of leaving due to various people not being on anymore as they are banned. This will cause a butterfly effect meaning that many players will not play the game and will be less active. We actually had PvP going and then this happened, now it's dead again. An MMO without PvP isn't an MMO, your technically playing a social game like you would on facebook right now, and all you do in RP is the same as what you could do on RP forums.

Ok first of all Finn might not know who you are. I don't know who you are... he was asking legitimate questions about the situation. Second, I suggest you message PWE directly about the banning situation. It may take some time, but a little patience is required to get back into the game. It's unfortunate if you were banned in response to the emote thing, I have heard of a few others in the RP community that were banned as well.

As far as it being a major impact to the PvP community, I can't really say for sure since I don't PvP, BUT there's no reason for your brother and friends to not play just because you aren't in the game. Sure you are helping the PvP community, but they could also help out. I can't believe that the entire game's PvP content depends on one person. No offense to you, but it takes lots of players to keep any element in the game going.

I strongly disagree a MMO without PvP is a MMO given that
A massively multiplayer online game (also called MMO and MMOG) is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously.

PvP is just something that happens in some MMO's just like it happens in FPS games.

As to the matter at hand raise a ticket stating your case because cryptic most certainly can if they so desire find out who was bringing the server down there will be logs at the very least they will be able to correspond emote activation by a specific player to a server crash.

I sensed a lot of sarcasm in the comment, I could be wrong and it could just be grammar mistakes but 'Or he was just innocently doing few emotes? While dead?' That while dead on the end there made the sarcasm of that line. Also he started with 'But he did' if he said 'But did he' then what you just said about what he meant may be true.

I was in contact with them strait away, I helped them out and told them what I know about it all, and they said this:
Thank you for the additional information and for your patience. After further review, it has been decided that the permanent ban on the account will remain and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It wasn't only me who was banned but also green machine and maybe a few others I don't know. PvP is a small community on CO and so by taking 2 players out of the game unfairly you'll cause other players to feel that is totally wrong and they become less active in the game as the people they usually do stuff with are banned. So yes by one person who is pretty much pure PvP leaving the game it will have a big effect, when it is at a time like this and more than one player was banned I can't really see much coming back from that.
As to the matter at hand raise a ticket stating your case because cryptic most certainly can if they so desire find out who was bringing the server down there will be logs at the very least they will be able to correspond emote activation by a specific player to a server crash.

They can run a report on your account and see everything. Everything.
Certainly what you were doing moments before a ban would be in there.

I used emotes before the ban and even the command they forgot to ban after the ban.
No ban hammer on my head.

I don't believe the ban came down by mistake, I think it was deserved.

Really? They used a sweep to see who used lots of emotes though, in what way did you use emotes? You must have no used enough to get yourself a ban.

The ban wasn't by mistake no, as now they have said they 'reviewed' it again. If this is so... What the hell have I been banned for?

You see it isn't just CO that you are banned from, but it is all PWE games. This means that not only has all the money and time I put into CO gone to waste but also all that which I was grinding away on NWO. All because I used 1 single emote bound to one single key along with another key with 1 single emote bound. It makes no sense what so ever. :/

I'm not sure what to say about the banning situation. It sucks that those who were wrongly banned were banned, and it seems like PWE doesn't really care about it considering the response Imp got stating that he'd remain banned. I don't believe he should have been banned, but PWE thinks otherwise.

As far as the PvP situation goes, it is NOT dead, and it is not heading in that direction. It's just as empty as before, but I've been in multiple games of Bash with 8+ people in it in the past few days.

I have two keys bound to dance moves that I go back and forth from at the end of alerts.
That's two to twelve uses of emotes between the cut scene and exiting.
At least three times per character on at least four characters per day.

    You said that.

Of course I didn't use them while dead.

I used 2200 over the 4 hours apparently by the logs.

I was using emotes while waiting for people, while testing stuff and trying new builds. I was a pure PvP'er and ofcourse the new skills had just came out at the time so we were testing them out for PvP.

The actual funniest thing about me being banned is that I told green to tell TT what was causing the zone issues. If he never told TT then the zone would have been going down for another 2 hours or so before kien left. By cryptic being told what was causing it they decided to ban anyone who had used emotes which included us.

If you wanna see it here is the comment telling TT. Green didn't want to get banned for knowing the exploit and so didn't use his real account which also may have been a mistake although too be honest cryptic would probably ban him anyway.

If you believe a ban for dancing in a game is justified then you are clearly ignorant and looking for conflict. If you got the ban for dancing on a game, how would you act?

He broke no rules in the game (please PWE show me the term and conditions of the game he broke), therefore there is no reason for his ban. Loads of players on the game are using illegal scripts, drimp wasn't one of them, drimp was the fairest pvper in the game that never even touched the Throwing Blades exploit that so many of you took up.

Note the exploit was for excessive usage of emotes in a short period of time. None of us know what Cryptic determined to be excessive or under what context. He could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sure there are plenty of binds and scripts that people use. But if he still feels that he was wrongly banned then I think he should take it up with PWE more. It's up to them and not us that he returns to the game.

You have that wrong. The exploit only works while dead and it isn't using 1 or 2 emotes, not even 5 emotes at once. You have to use lots and lots of emotes extremely fast repeatably, to do this you use a script.

I was in the powerhouse the entire time and didn't go to loading screens other than to change toon a few times just to be in the powerhouse arena once again. The DC's were going on in MC as that was where kien was crashing people.

PWE have pretty much said 'that's the end of it' they don't care at all. I've been trying to get into other games, my brother came here as he doesn't see a point if I'm not playing champions and it's not exactly like PWE are going to listen to him.

    kqdpkct1f
link: http://postimg.org/image/kqdpkct1f (I don't know if those urls are working with the image thing)

This print screen clearly shows me where I was the entire time (I'm on my alt in this screenshot on The Golden Mask@drimp as you see in chat I ask if I can test my 10 second stun out)

This screenshot has been posted by two different people to PWE and it clearly shows kien threatening to get Kas. banned if he doesn't find out this rope swinging exploit for him. To attack the game which he doesn't really like anymore, ban Kas. and ban many others to hit the game harder he started to bring the zones down.

PWE are well aware of all of this and yet they choose to keep the banned as being banned.

FYI Kien used an alternate account to do the exploit over and over, impossible to track or ban. I have no idea if he even was actually banned on his main account.

Every time you keep bringing in the "he's a PvPer" reasoning into this you're only discouraging anyone from doing anything about it. No one cares that he was a PvPer.

What we do care about is that he was perma banned unfairly.

Its Cryptic's fault for letting the exploit last this long and they shouldn't be banning anyone for using bugs that they refused to fix. Cryptic should stop shifting the blame to its customers.

So I paraphrased, the concept is still the same. Excessive emoting through scripts is still excessive. It was enough to cause instability in the servers. I was on the day that the emotes were disabled by the devs, and after crashing, retreated to the Powerhouse. Then servers crashed there as well. Not assuming anything, just that's what I experienced.

Now in regards to your picture, it would appear that you were in communication with the person that you have pointed out as the culprit. Could have been that you two were talking about the particulars event and so you were banned as an accessory to the incident? I'm sure that PWE has done what they felt was necessary to control and prevent the situation.

As I have mentioned before, continue to fight PWE about it if you still feel this was done wrongly, as we the players have no say on the matter of you returning to game.

But just as a fly on the wall reading this. Im left wondering how anyone "completely" innocent and undeserved knows so many details about the exploit, what caused it, and who was really behind it. I simply cant follow anyone knows all this, providing it is correct, without some level of involvement.

Only joking, I'm an active player and everything I'm saying is common knowledge. If you had been playing 100hour weeks like a sad looser like me you would know every inch of the game as well :D I also would like to make it clear I have never cheated on CO in anyway and I'm well known for having a go at anyone who does cheat in anyway.

In fact Green Machine and Blackfade used the server crashing glitch to troll me weeks b4 the ban hammer hit everyone. I was like how are they doing that... the kept crashing me just because I won bash against them 1 time :/ Hence me hating the fact my brother was banned for something that hr didn't do and the I was actually a victim of myself more than anyone.

Just push your issue to the appropriate channels. If you really were in the powerhouse then it wouldn't matter how many emotes you used because it doesn't appear that the PH crashed. That alone could be enough to get you unbanned if you are persistent. They can check their logs and they should be able to verify. However, persistence is key. Being cordial can't hurt either.

I'm not a PWE employee, and am going by my experience as a DM and forum admin for a NWN persistent world server.

If you are innocent, then do what everybody here suggested. After all, it is what TT said to do if you think you were unfairly caught in the sweep for users who were exploiting the bug.

Posting this whine-fest on the forum? It does nothing for your credibility. I'm not saying I think you are lying (I'm one who tends to give the benefit of doubt, at least on the initial instance). What I'm saying is that I've seen many of those we banned from our server pull whine-fests like this. It's not helping you at all.

    Hey, champ. Two points.

    1) Putting a lot of .gifs into your message doesn't actually make your message any more urgent. Annoying, sure, but not urgent.

    2) You're posting this to a message forum. That message forum is full of other end users, and not much else. What exactly do you expect us to do about this supposed dilemma?

Edit: Just took a look at the thread "CO has no emotion". Impy, got news for you - I don't think it was just the emotes that got you banned, not if you think that Power Rangers .gif was an appropriate forum communication. Lord knows what you were typing into Chat...

sometimes a person just need to let out their frustrations.

I mean, cant go to work and let it out.

Cant go to family's house and let it out.

Cant go to friends that dont even game and let it out, they'll look at ya like ya lost ya mind and or tell you to can it and listen to their problems.

Cant complain to the wife/husband. They are already tired of the other stuff in real life let alone a game.

sometimes a forum among other gamers IS the only outlet.

But when you do that, and you irritate people, you increase your chances that you'll get a ban. Yes, the internet is a place to vent frustrations. However, there's not a single place in existence where you can do so in an abrasive manner and not get called out or banned over it. I gotta say, I'm with jon. The gif bombing comes off as pretty condescending and isn't helping your case too much dude.

Part 1- make your plea polite. Most of us will back you up. The rumor I heard is that the person knew this would happen, reported it many times over, and then did it to make a point because it didn't get fixed and wasn't addressed. Might not be true, but if it were- as trollish as that was, I can sort of understand and I would say 'suspend' but not 'permaban'. These guys are right- the 'troll-like' (Not calling you a troll) posts make people less inclined to back you up, because the first thing that pops into their mind is 'this person is obnoxious and probably had it coming'.

Part 2- It sucks, but I'd ask politely- maybe have a probational period- maybe ask if you can play for a few days chat-muted, and you'll do so as a gesture of good faith without complaint if they're reconsider it down the road.

Part 3- Worst case scenario- make a new account.

I think no one supposed to crush server. That was just an OP exploit for most people at that point.
Ban for warning was enough done so I wish people coming back into game.

Costumes, Gears, Mods, Devices, G, Q, everything are important property of their own spend time. I believe no one had any malicious mind to Cryptic.

So let me say again, plz unban them and give one more chance.

But I think there were no WARNING at that point... Most of the people couldn't even imagine what will happen and just copy & pasted as someone told them. I imagine they did just with same feeling of customizing Bindings/Commands such like this. I think and believe most of them were innocent minded.

Now we finally got 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH' paint.

Probably we also need 'Warning! Customize Bindings/Commands by your own risk' from now on.

I'm not familiar with those commands. I saw someone talking about those scripts in chat channel but I was just so lazy to test it myself.

    He's on to me ;)

Only joking, I'm an active player and everything I'm saying is common knowledge. If you had been playing 100hour weeks like a sad looser like me you would know every inch of the game as well :D I also would like to make it clear I have never cheated on CO in anyway and I'm well known for having a go at anyone who does cheat in anyway.

In fact Green Machine and Blackfade used the server crashing glitch to troll me weeks b4 the ban hammer hit everyone. I was like how are they doing that... the kept crashing me just because I won bash against them 1 time :/ Hence me hating the fact my brother was banned for something that hr didn't do and the I was actually a victim of myself more than anyone.

    frabz-I-like-to-live-dangerously-57ba8d.jpg

So pro and so smart for saying that, gratz , everyone that knows something about PvP understands you could never beat green of hr was trying. Smart act again. Bravo!

Blame pvp, even though some of us have been doing it for literally about 5 years without a single chat ban.

Blame ignorantly copy/pasting commands without an idea what they did, even though it was pretty damn obvious that what it did was lag the server and break a bunch of important ****.

Or, take some personal responsibility and understand that you were running dangerous macros and broke the game for a large part of the population, for a week or so. Cost us emotes entirely. And one of you got rightfully banned for it. IMO? Good, ban more of em. You can't claim ignorance when it's obvious that the effects were pretty startling and immediate. You got a new toy that could destroy the server, used it, and got caught. GG, enjoy your ban. This should not be lifted.

chalupaoffury, you seems to be getting the facts all wrong. My brother never used any exploit, he just bound 2 dances together, players still do it now, especially role-players. I hate when ignorant people post about something the know nothing about, kinda sums up half of the community.

I used 2200 over the 4 hours apparently by the logs.

I was using emotes while waiting for people, while testing stuff and trying new builds. I was a pure PvP'er and of course the new skills had just came out at the time so we were testing them out for PvP.

    ...

Am not pointing fingers (no idea what anyone was doing or thinking), but the math to this just stuck in my head.

    2,200 / 4hrs = 9.1 emotes per minute

Could it possibly be that since you spent almost half those 4hrs using emotes at the same time you had knowledge of the problems that were causing crash what may have led PWE authorities to believe that perhaps you may also have been someway involved in the issue?

Am just saying, not accusing, and just pointing out how someone could come to think there's room for further investigation into the matter.

Assumption is the mother of all mistakes!!!

So, just taking that math down another notch, that's an emote every 6.59 seconds. If, you are a slow typer, you could easily be typing for a good six seconds in order to write out the emote. (I doubt anyone would do this for four hours, but regardless.) Obviously a bind would make it much, much simpler.

What I'm wondering is, why the fark do you need to emote every six seconds?
