Resistance - Overseers

Hello,

I just tried to play Resistance again, which I have done only once yet. And I am slightly puzzled at those Overseers pretty much in the beginning, at the assault on the weapons deposit. The mission description says that you may prevent them from becoming active if you destroy the console in time.

The thing is, there just isn't time. The destroid is pretty much online at once. Is that the way it is supposed to be when you play on Elite so I gotta fight them? Or is that a bug? To be able to target the console you have to get so close that the destroid already activates... (I've tried different variants, such as deactivating all my powers, including forms and pets to not raise suspicion, or to fly over the fence and go straight for the console, nothing seems to work.)

I've recorded a little demo file that illustrates the problem.

If you're on Elite, they begin to activate from further away than you can target the console, and have NO boot-up time.

You have to fight them after they activate, or turn your difficulty down.

Yes they activtate as soon as you enter the pin but usually what suppose to happen is it takes them a minute or so to step off the platform. Go directly to the consoles, two of them, and you should have plenty of time.

If you cant manage to get both and dont feel like tangling with them, run out of the fence area and they will go back to their station. Usually the point where you pick up the "help" is far enough. Then repeat process. On Elite, there is even less time. Go directly to the console do not pass go do not kill detsroids, kill console high priority and retreat unless ya want to fight the other one and repeat process. Best to use a speed ytravel power and plan the route to the console prior to going in. It's doable, but hard but not"take the sweet time and bum rush into the area" tactic. Or get ready to fight them, which is also a bit of a fight but not impossible. I done it before when I thought ya supposed to fight them before I knew there was consoles to shoot. XD

Hrm. Well I did manage to get the Weapons Depot by dodging them and distracting them with my pets. I managed to get the billboards because you walk so close to the console that you can target it at once. One second is enough. But the jet.... This guy senses me from way to far. And since I need to escort the explosive expert dodging them is not an option.

Unfortunately I am to squishy to fight them - I am a pure damage dealer with just enough defensive abilities to not be one shot by Gravitar. 6012 Hit Points, 62% all damage resistance, 25% dodge, 58.79% avoidance. I managed to shoot one down to two thirds, but I pretty much sacrificed the entire team over it.

LOL! I know how it is done: Don't do anything and let the team go alone!

well if you want some help with it, I can handle the Overseers and their summons for you...(soloing Mega Ds in resistance is fun for me XD at one point I had a build that could handle the 4 at the charging station). They take awhile to fight, but they're beatable...also at the weapons depot/billboard points if you have a 100' power...as long as you don't physically cross the line of the fence opening you should be able to take out the console without the big guy waking up...

Just did this with a tanky build......
    Destroid number one
Couldn't target that damned console and he activated so I just beat him up and ran away from his mate.
    Destroid number two
Made a serious effort to not engage him, blew the console and ran away (heroically of course). Destroid rematerialised on the platform but took no notice of me, I beat up a couple of smaller destroids in plain sight of him. The console rematerialised and I blew it up, the Mega D collapsed as per usual - this is probably the way to do it. Run in, run away then blow the console after he's reset.
    Destroid three the Superjet
Being a big tough tanky build I fought him and his mate and destroyed them, they never got me below 4.5k health but it took a while. However the escort mission was murderous, I went down to 2k on that. In future I'll just activate the team and leave em to it I think. Or maybe I'll try it on a sword cyclone toon, 100 hands is a bit too directional and you need to kill a lorra guys on that mish.

Ha! The Marksmaid would never do anything like that. Running away is completely out of style. (The Marksmaid is a little Gravitar in that regard, I wish I had invented Gravitar as a Nemesis for her. ^^)

The Marksmaid has ... teleport. She is wherever she likes to be. Not to run away. Just to not be... in certain places.
