Gender specific costume slot

nephtnepht Posts: 6,898 Arc User
Just a thought how about a costume slot that allows you to have a "costume" thats a different gender than your toon normally is. Would help with toons that are shapeshifters and are bound to sell well.

Yes I do see the irony of myself asking for a gender swap token U__U"

CoH certainly did a service to shapeshifters with the ability to switch genders between costume slots. Provided, of course, you bought the Mad Science Booster Pack or the Super Tailor function on the Paragon Market. It's a shame CO doesn't allow for this as well. What kind of shapeshifter can't switch sexes? You think Mystique could masquerade as Senator Kelly if she was limited only to the female form?

Heh, I'd be all up for this.

Although that would make my main shapeshifters excuse of 'If I turned into a girl, I wouldn't be badass anymore.' go out the window.

...Course, he is supposed to be a villain, so...Really, throwing him out the window is a good thing!

I have a female toon who's a (small-sized) mech robot pilot. However since I find the female model being far too slender even with max slider settings for a huge, beefy mech look, I had to make a seperate male toon for that purpose. The option to switch genders on a single toon would really make me happy since it will let me switch between pilot and mech without having to switch characters.

Or if you want to troll people with your genderbending toon similar to this guy:

    7266141017f6840%5B1%5D.jpg

The science booster pack for CoX had that. I miss it.

Actually, I wouldn't mind making a power armor girl with a sleek look who's the female equivalent to Iron Man. What I went for was something similar to for e.g. a female pilot in a huge Zaku suit from those Gundam series, with the flexibility of presenting the pilot both in and out of the suit.

I would not use this, but I don't object to it at all.

I could also see it done for things like werewolves, where the females are limited to making unimpressive versions of that or furry grinwolves.

Would be great for making more bulky PA characters.

Current settings are fine indeed, for Iron Man female equivalents in skin tight "armors".

Not enough to make a more crude PA, something in style of ingame PRIMUS/UNTIL/Steelhead/MARS armors. Or Mechwarrior universe PA's.

I would use this on at least 2 of my existing characters and make several new characters to use this (and thus fill up my available character slots) and i would also buy several of costume slots, quite a few, for several of those characters.

    So lets review:
If they did this i would buy:
Several of these gender-specific costume slots for at least 4+ characters
More than one per character so more than 8 purchases
More character slots as a consequence.

This would be AWESOME for my female Lemurian, since she's (correctly) using the male model for her lizard form. I'd love to be able to actually make a human-form costume without making an entire other character.

(The "Transform Refashioned Lemurians" mission makes it pretty clear, the big ones are the females. Gogo semi-accurate interpretation of sexual dimorphism in reptiles!)

This would be great for female PA characters. the female model doesn't work well for bulky robot suits.

Would be cool for some concepts. I remember reading a comic book a loooong time ago about these two superheroes, a male and a female, who could, for some reason, only exist one at a time. I always thought that was a cool concept, and would maybe try something like that.

I have an illusionist who can look like anyone. It would certainly encourage me to by more costume slots.

With the right chest piece, bewbs aren't the problem. It's the itty-bitty waists every female character is forced to have. Prime has a heavy armor kit that uses the Tesla chest to give the top some androgyny, but she looks like she'll snap in two at the abdomen.
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning, but when your story ends / Gonna last with you longer than your friends

Yes, I want to play with a nice muscular woman with this type of body:

But all I can make are this type of women :( :

That makes me a SAAAAAD Kitty :(

The first chick is totally make-able; it's when you get to Juggernaut/Hulk/gorilla levels that's the problem. Though I'd prefer powerguys/girls to look more like Colossus myself; Hulk and company look grotesque.

Uhhhh.... yeah, I'm gathering you've never slid the muscle slider to max before. As Akira said, the first picture is totally doable.

I mean, look at the wait level difference!

Why do all the women has to have a waist like that?

(Maybe I should revive the old "Big women needs love too" into a new thread)

Blame that on the lack of Abdomen slider (hate it too, could really solve alot of issues); abdomen depth and width would be a nice addition, as well as waist depth. And with the first picture, I was talking about arm size and general girth.

Try sliding it the other way. The curves on the body and limbs will be subtler. The hands and feet will also be able to scale larger. You might have to increase chest depth a little, in order to avoid looking skinny.
