I posted this in a reply on a different thread, but I think it is supposed to be here. Any feed back or example builds would be appreciated.

"While I have you here I do have a couple of questions:

1. Should you just take Quarry, regardless of anything? I started looking for synergistic Forms, like Stormbringer in a Electricity/Wind build. But the more I look into it I just see Quarry Quarry Quarry, whatever the build.

2. In the aforementioned Electricity/Wind build, I'm focusing on Ego/Con/Rec. Does that sound about right?

3. My other character is Technology based using alot of particle damage. I'm reading that basically you should focus on End/Int but what about the third? con, rec, or ego? Also, Targeting computer looks great and is alot of fun, but is it effective? Should I just shut up and take Quarry like a good boy?

I know this will all change at 40 but I'm soaking in the info now and would appreciate any advice. Thanks again!"

Before anyone just starts answering your questions, you should ask yourself, what do I want my toon to do?

    Tank? Dps? Off-beat Support?

If I answer in the dps perspective, here's what I would suggest.

    1. Quarry is usually just a universal offensive passive since it gives a boost to all damage to some degree, but it also has some defensive bonuses which a lot of people prefer over just straight damage. However, your overall dps will be better in the Elec/wind build with Stormbringer, your survivability, however, will be significantly weaker. On a side note, I believe I have leveled toons to 40 using every offensive passive with no troubles at all.

    2. DEX is usually my go-to dps superstat because the tree for DEX is just amazing. EGO and STR are secondary depending on if you are melee or ranged. DEX/Con/Rec is a solid setup to level with, but if you want to level with extremely high cost abilities, then you can try DEX/End/Rec as well. Some 40s get around not having DEX because they can stack so much crit with gear at 40, but getting there, those options are very limited, so just taking DEX as your primary gets around a lot of those options.

    3. Anything can be "effective" if you build for it. It just might not be "optimal." Just because the game suggests your tech guy needs Int/End, that doesn't make it optimal. For instance, if you wanted to keep Int/End like the game suggests, you can pick DEX as primary for more crit/crit severity and still have enough energy management to control your bots and pile on the particle damage. Most offensive passives make good and fun toons. Targeting Computer is just fine to use...as is Electric Form for particle damage...or Kinetic Manipulation for physical damage...by no means is Quarry the only option for every toon.

Remember: Half the people you know are below average...

Do not correct a fool, for he will hate you for it. Correct a wise man, for he will appreciate you for it.

Don't be like the Qularr. They would not last one round in the Interstellar Galactic Arena...

It's kind of hard to say. It depends on your personal playstyle and how you want to build the toon itself. I'm personally more satisfied with straight damage so I'd go for something like targeting computer or Stormbringer. I also normally get a defensive passive, mostly invulnerability, on the side for those "oh crap!" moments. At 30 most Freeform builds are complete unless they are trying to fill more than one role. However, in Quarry's defense I can't actually say anything because the few times I was going to go for it I settled for something else. xD

You seem to be damage oriented so don't forget to nab yourself a heal or an active defense! This is coming from someone who's first toon was fire (and omg was that a rough first toon) so it's a habit I've carried since and may not apply to all cases. :P

I say stuff and I say things, sometimes together but only when I'm feeling adventurous.

    I'm @blu8 in game! :D

I cover a few offensive passives in my Ranged DPS guide. Might want to take a look

I'd say to maximize DPS on a PvE ranged DPS character, your 3 primary stat choices are Dex, Ego or Int. Your choice really depends on the energy unlock you pick, but primary Ego is a fairly safe pick, offering good damage through Crit Severity and either Exploit Opening or Sixth Sense and good energy management with Insight. Secondary Rec if you use Overdrive and Secondary End if you use Ionic Reverb.
    3. My other character is Technology based using alot of particle damage. I'm reading that basically you should focus on End/Int but what about the third? con, rec, or ego? What kind of Tech-based? Power Armor or Gadgeteering with Pulse Beam Rifle? Either way, Primary Dex, Ego or Int, secondary Con and 3rd stat either Dex (if primary Int) or energy unlock stat is a safe setup.
