Chat banned for challanging an AT to a duel

i recently started doing PVP out of boredom.
i don't badmouth people when i lose or win
but because i had the "nerve " to challange an AT to a duel
which btw i had no idea they were an AT
i was flagged as a spammer and muted for a day.
add me to the list of many i guess

    It's been experimentally demonstrated that one person can't chat-ban you. I don't know who else you might have ticked off, but...

    1 person can if they have multiple accounts
    it is possible that he only did the last ignore
    but there are people exploiting

    Neverwinter seems to have raised the bar, actually. I think it's between 15 and 20 now.

    Dont PvP with randoms.

    If you want to safely duel someone duel the likes of Mr F or Wesley. Nesno even if he ever comes back he was always up for duels.

    Fun Fact: You can also get chatbanned for refusing to duel someone, winning a CC, not selling a costume piece which you intend to use, refusing ERP or just simply owning a certain character(Mentella).

    I don't know you, or what you might have done. You might want to look in people's bio's. Some people are very against random duels. I don't really care for them, but as long as it's once and when I hit no, they don't ask again, I don't really mind. I'll even occasionally participate.

    What I do mind is when I'm RPing, or something else, and someone continually follows me around challenging me to duels. That's when I might complain. Not saying that you did that, but for those that do... no really does mean no.

    The other part that annoys people is when you are Lvl40 and geared out and you challenge someone who's significantly lower. Yes it scales, but it's not a fair contest.

    I had one guy who saw me on my ork character and then threw me a duel challenge, I refused and then he ignored me. I guess that time wasn't enough to put me on mute.

    People are weird indeed.

    I had a similar experience too. I have whitelist duels active all the time and I had one lv 6 player PMing me on one of my lv 40s to accept his dueling request. Now because of the whitelist, I never saw the request nor the rocket come crashing down on top of my foot. So I politely told them I don't duel and I have the request white listed. After a few verbal threats he did to me I PMed him back just to find out I was ignored.

    Well then...Nice talking to you too bud.

    Strange enough I have yet to be chat banned and I know there are a few out there that have put me on ignore. I guess the ignores were spread out too far apart to have me be put on the list.

    It's basically an admin power in the hands of the players, ripe with abuse. Still, I'm sorry it happened to you Jasin. Try not to let it prevent you from playing, it even happened to me once for one of the stupidest reasons you can imagine (Nepht probably remembers).

    And JonSills, no, just no. Please stop disseminating false information, it's not helpful for our community... Please?

    It can indeed just be one person (with multiple accounts). In fact, you can be logged in on several accounts at the same time as long as you computer is awesome enough to handle running multiple instances of the game simultaneously. I've even seen people who've figured out how to get the other game instance characters to mimic whatever attack or power the main character uses. It looks awesome! Sadly, there's always a few bad-apple people in every bunch.

    I don't know where you people find such crowds. My own ignore list is full of scammers and players missing a lot of gears from their brains, I'm probably on quite a few lists myself for childish reasons, but I never got myself muted. If someone annoys me I ask them politely to stop. If it doesn't help or makes it worse I either just leave the area or put the bastard on ignore first, depending on curcamstances.

    Yeah, I whitelist duels too. I'm not into PVP in most online games. I also get random whispers and tells, whenever I try to answer, Bamph! I was ignored! :eek:

    Now i've gota wonder how often i've been ignored. Normally when one of them dual rockets lands on my head...I just continue to sit there, doing what I was doing. While I giggle quietly as they struggle with the idea of running from their own dual and thereby ending things or waiting to see if something will actually happen.

    Most, end up jumping around like a hamster on a sugar rush, never willing to leave on their own. Until the time limit finally, mercifully, expires. If i'm feeling cruel, ill simply say "one sec, almost ready" And just continue to sit there. :wink:

    The good news is its rare when I see a second dual offer from the same joker. :tongue:

    On a lighter note the funniest thing I was ever ignored for was for doing the Harajuku_Wave emote (and no I wasn't doing that in a costume contest, I was just at Lt. Patil in Ren Cen). I mean like the person actually told me they were going to put me on their ignore list because they hate that emote, and actually ignored me.

    Is this a way to judge all ATs as a whole that all FFs should beware of ATs? Buddy, this goes for all players including *coughs* FF players. It all boils down to the kind of person on the computer you're battling against.

    sigh, such negativity, the person made the point he was an AT in chat, after he banned. i would say their name but policy forbids. are you impling i am a copy build? as far as i know i am fairly unique. dueling can be declined there is no need to bad mouth or report as spam after a single challenge. if you are standing in the ren cen circle expect duel challenges.
    i stand on my own reputation from my actions. maybe you should ask yourself where your aggression really comes from.

    To be honest, you can't control the actions of other players. They will do what they do, regardless if they're an AT or FF player. So, 'till the system changes, we're stuck with it as is.

    No aggression here, so it comes from nowhere. I have no reason for it. Maybe a lil' playful negativity?

    One of the best things i learned in video games, is to never let anything get to you. It's great practice! Sometimes I like to poke fun@other players though, and see the results.
    And interesting you aksed if I called you out on your build. If you're not one, no need to take offense. I have nothing personal against you and I /thumbsup you for your own build.

    I was only saying, they're plenty out there in RenCen for you to duels.

    I wouldn't be so pissed, frustrated, mad and annoyed with this system if you actually could talk with your FRIENDS. They are most likely not the ones that muted you. I think you should be able to talk with your friends, on SG chat, send tells (to your friends of course) and maybe even talk in team chat (WITH FRIENDS OF COURSE).

    1. seperate the IGNORE PERSON from REPORT SPAM. This way people will not be getting chat banned becasue people don't like them.

    2. for all those people saying there should be more channels. Look for Morbic's posts, his signature has a thread for CREATING channels, also a list of current NW channels.
    Yes, you can make your own and LFG and trade channels have already been made at the start of Open beta. You haven't found them becasue you are used to having fixed channels.


    amendment to previous poster: pts total per game or over all games. You can use the same acct on all PWE/cryptic games.

    see all it took was having a large new game get hit with chat bans for Cryptic to finally think about changing this, after years of asking. Hopefully it will be instituted in the other two cryptic games too

    I managed to get chatbanned by myself today..I somehow managed to report myself for spam and got a 1 min 45 sec chat ban.

    It was so weird..Cyrone knows this too xD
