The Forum Malvanum alert is now live! Join the Lunar Games and battle for galactic glory on the moon!

Having tested the heroes of Millennium City with the challenge of the Great Race, Tateklys, imperator of the Lunar Games, is prepared to crown new galactic champions. To reach that lofty platform, though, heroes will have to defeat some of the most dangerous monsters and gladiators from around the universe, including villains from Earth itself.

Also, shout-out to Brou, the hero front and center in one of the images in that blog post. I was digging through my demos of the Forum Malvanum, and that was one of the better shots -- good costume as always, Brou.

    VERY SERIOUS REWARD BUGS!

Action figures do not drop at all after completing all rounds.

If a costume piece drops only the team leader gets it.

The team leader only rewarded bug happens in Resistance too.

Confirmed: Run the alert 7 times now, no AF AT ALL. Only some weird eyebrows, that no one else seems to have.

Update on Round 7 Bug: Tried this route twice now..kill them off quickly and go into the tunnel whilst they are spawning..either this or drag them back into tunnel, the final mob will spawn and you'll be able to progress.

However a more annoying bug is the one we reported in PTS >_>, namely the Ironclad/Duratok timer. It starts directly after the round before it is completed. So instead of starting the round with a comfortable 2:15 mins everyone is subjected to a post cutscene timer of around ~1:40 mins. Which in most circumstances is NOT enough to complete the duo.

However it is slightly possible with around .5 sec to spare...if you use extreme DPS....which not everyone can put out..especially in a NON level gated PUG style event...

The timer needs to be fixed so it starts AFTER the cutscene..like all the other timers...

Also..as a side note...this is yet another alert which pushes Tanks and Support Players to the side as well as melee players (in some instances). Shame really, I was hoping that this event would be aimed at least towards tanky builds since its all about Gladitorial combat etc...

That's amusing considering that I rejected a Devastator AT from joining my team. For a gladiator arena of all things.

ok when you get the psi ones you have to make sure none get near walls, we just had one run into the wall and we failed. That was the second run.

the first time we lost, it was from kB letting them near the wall, the second time. the agent ran straight for the side wall.
you can't target them, they don 't come out.

On this note...would you mind explaining if it came from inventory or it was just a new part of your AF list?

Also did you get a message saying you got it? Did it come with the Perk?

I've done and completed this alert 7 times with different rewards..but no AF..is it now classed as a rare drop?

So they mean you COULD Firewing OR Tateklys. Not and/or the two for completing all rounds, because that implies that you can get either or both for completing all ten rounds.

    So...

"Firewing or Tateklys Action Figures (chance of drop if final round completed)"

    Fixed that for you.

So would I be right in assuming this was a drop chance on par with the costume pieces?

In the sense that the AF nor the costume pieces are guaranteed but are a random bonus?

If that's the case I'll go wake up my friend The RNG.

I didn't have time to play it today, but I have a few questions.

How long is this event going to stay?

Is it going to cycle like Hi Pan: Fury of the Dragon, or will it be more of a Nighthawk alert?

Also, do those action figures bind on pickup? I'd rather buy them from people who've gotten them dozens of times than grind until the random number generator decides it doesn't despise me.

This event will be around for a while now, then enter the special Alert cycle like FUry of the Dragon.

It is a special Alert, not a rampage.

The AFs are listed under POSSIBLE REWARDS. What part of "possible" implies "guaranteed"?

Tried the Alert several times yesterday. Got all excited about getting to the final rounds.

Got stuck 3 times on round 7.

I did mange to get the very rare bit of questionite (now I feel special).

Looking forward to getting the creepy eyebrows.

Specifically the highlighted parts. Saying and/or implies that you get either or both for completing the final round. Would had made more sense to stating the action figures seperately. The costumes were stated separately. Why not the action figures?

I am going to start loathing the drops though if I do manage to get two action figure drops, but they end up the same one.

I'll be blunt, not my usual style. A touch frustrated.

It took a kind soul sharing his saved up extra Sidekick champions devices to a team to generate the necessary DPS to handily defeat Duratok and Ironclad, on our third try.. Our second try we beat them but ironclad only dropped at the last half second, and it was counted as a failure, which was very annoying.

And when we beat it.. we all got... was resources.

Not one person got anything nice, and I honestly feel repeating the alert for a chance at some costume parts, isn't worth it. I love me some action figures too, and we got ziltch, nada, bupkiss.

Whoever was in charge of rewards for this needs to seriously consider what this extreme challenge should give, for passing round eight. Much less nine and ten.

Completing the full ten rounds should give something better than a perk title and a 'chance' at some costume parts and action figures.

I seriously cannot believe you didn't level-gate this thing. Screw this, I'm sick of wasting my time when a single lowbie will doom the team to fail.

Yesterday I joined a preformed team, and successfully completed eight runs in a row, getting two costume parts and an Action Figure. In the middle of that, I saw you and another guy yelling at someone in Zone chat to Recover and start helping. Are you SURE that queueing up randomly is better than just forming a team, like people have been doung for NemCon all along?

We didn't even have an exceptional team, just five level 40s with reasonably decent builds, who all knew how to not be stupid.

It's just my personal feeling but, I got 5 costume parts from random team, it was like 50% drop. Done for 10 run.
But none from premade team. Done for 6 run.

I'm not sure its random luck or anything, but whichever we needs DPS in most part.

BTW what AF did you get? :3

I think AoPM in support role helps quite a bit. More than I expected it to, anyway.

Source: Kaiserin, Supercollide and I finished a FM alert with two pugs, one of whom was level 6.

I slightly out-damaged the level 6 on my level 40. Gotta love alert-scaling.

Alternatively...Kaiserin and Supercollide are capable of almost-duoing Ironclad and Duratok.

    Could be either one, really.

You're probably right on the latter point, but I'm sure people DO want action figures, and they're easier to make, since they're made out of existing costume parts, whereas new costume parts require new assets, obviously.

    Pro's:
    • As far as alerts go, this is a well designed on (with one exception on the rewards aspect, see below)
    • Fun
    • A bit of an hommage to Hunger Games is cool! (also very Cryptic-esque)
    • Caliga hates Gadroon. With a passion.'
    • Brou got an official screenshot
    • Dorotok Gorehowl is in the alert! Woot!
    • The reward is in resources (not XP)

    Con's
    • Not level gated. It should be. No reason a lowbie should be in an alert where time-limited DPS is critical to success.
    • Level 30 sucks. Scale us to level 40 for this. Please FFS!
    • 1.1g reward for all of that? Seriously? At least 5g. Only 1.1g is a token, not a reward worth farming for. (50000 resources) And you need people to farm it so it launches sufficiently and you get teams of high levels that actually can complete the time-limited part.
    • The drop rate for the rare costume pieces is fair, but ONLY if you make the reward worth it for the PvE farmers. Again, 1.1g is insufficient, need to be 5g or more for it to be worth the time.

PS / Pro-Tip: If you need a money-sink to remove globals from the market:
    1. Consider a larger bag (the kind people store inventory with on their character) that is worth like 25g to 100g (depending on how much of an upgrade it is) and increase the 6g bag's price to 10g. You'll substantially remove inflation with that (without being an over burden), without making the customer base feel put on (since it's affordable to everyone).
    2. Sell the globals/gold/resources cap increase increment for Silver players on the Z-Store for Zen. Maybe like +50g increase for 25 Zen or something like that? Whatever price, as long at it's reasonable, it will increase the market size of potential sellers and buyers and balance out the extreme inflation you see on the top-tier & rarest stuff.

It varies, depending on how far you get. On completion of Round 10, you get 3.9g. Yes, that's less than you suggest. Yes, it's still a pretty paltry amount.

For what it's worth, it is more than the 3.499g you get from a Burst.

Considering the big-deal that this alert feels like getting to the end should have a guaranteed reward of appropriate coolness.

Something like a cool Laural headress, crown, emblem, aura or some other relevant costume unlock that unlocks the first time you get the whole way through.

Actually I thought it was miles better than any of the typical alerts, or especially better than "Red Snake, Green Dragon" on the voice scripting part.

That said, it's nor where near as epic as ANY of the adventure packs or comic series. Whiteout? Resistance? Yeah they crush this alert.

PS: There's little to no explanation as to how you got on the moon

PPS: Caliga finally gets to fight some elite Gadroon commandos.
