Where is my cat?

dardovedardove Posts: 0 Arc User
So last night while playing Neverwinter, I acquired a cat action figure. Errr, companion. But it acts like an action figure since it doesn't attack anything and just follows me around.

That is great and all, but where is the action figure I have been asking for in CO? Go steal it from Neverwinter, CO devs!

    GAH!

That was supposed to be part of the Wizard & Witch costume pack!

    WANT.

Also, ffs, "that tech is impossible". Wasn't that what they told us when we didn't get it with the wizard costume pack? That they couldn't make the 4 legs work?
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

When Cryptic says "that tech is not possible" what they mean is "We do not have any devs who can complete this work."

I literally Saw Gentleman Crush fix bugs in minutes.. not days or even hours but MINUTES. And yet the telepathy pass has "some tricky technical issues to iron out, but we haven't forgotten about it".. powers that he singularly created have tricky technical issues that take 8 months to complete? HAHA, no. What they mean is "We technically don't care to divert resources to your game"

I'm somewhat surprised that NW is one of the only MMOs where you can have a useful dog pet.

Wolves, stone elementals, and others? All over the place. But a good ol' huntin dawg?

Wicks and Things: NW-DI4FMZRR4 : The Fenwick merchant family has lost a caravan! Can you help?

Beggar's Hollow: NW-DR6YG4J2L : Someone, or something, has stolen away many of the Fenwicks' children! Can you find out what happened to them?

Into the Fen Wood: NW-DL89DRG7B : Enter the heart of the forest. Can you discover the secret of the Fen Wood?

A crow would be an awesome companion for a Wizard & Witch set.

Before the wizard costume pack was announced, the excuse used for no kitten AFs was that they didn't have a skeleton for the animations, but they now have one since it was created for Neverwinter's cat.

Judging by the position of the cat, it looks like a reskin for a Wolf Skeleton, which his plentifully used in CO. To add to that, there's been a few players that have commented how 'doggish' the cat looks.

But in any case, it would be perfectly feasible to implement a dog AF. Hell, it'd be perfectly reasonable to implement a wolf-like cat as an AF.

To be honest i never believe Anything from Cryptic... Ever... Not until it's been nerfed on the live server at least once, then maybe i'll listen to what they say, because up until that point the company has built itself up on lies and false truths and empty promises.

This is just a great example of how that is and how Developing other games has done nothing but screw over Champions online. I can see that since they don't own the IP of D&D or Star Trek, they need to keep up a certain amount of work on the game, both maintaining as well as developing. From the very beginning though they have been neglecting Champions, and to be honest it's not like it would take a whole lot of work to make it the best Superhero MMO out there. Cryptic just doesn't seem to care at all about it in any fashion minus possibly the occasional dev who wants to do something for the players, or poor TrailTurtle who has to put on a smile and try to calm the angry forumites.

While i'm glad that they're putting an effort into a game to make it as good as possible at launch, i'm horrified that they would handle an existing game as they are, using any and all profits from it for other games rather than maintaining it or developing for it. How anyone working there isn't ashamed at the state of Champions Online is beyond me, but as long as they're charging money for any aspect of the game, i believe they should be held fully accountable to the fans playing it.
