Alright, so im loosin gold in a few days and am deciding to change my main to an archtype, the only problem is that I can not for the life of me figure out which on I want to use(I honestly dont mean to sound picky in this). I love melee like a good steak, and range is ok but not really my favorite. These are the archtypes im looking at

The Fist
The MAster
The Specialist
The Devastator
The Disciple
The Blade
The Uneashed

EDIT: original post sounded pretty...well bad.

Alright, so im loosin gold in a few days and am deciding to change my main to an archtype, the only problem is that I can not for the life of me figure out which on I want to use(I honestly dont mean to sound picky in this). I love melee like a good steak, and range is ok but not really my favorite. These are the archtypes im looking at(with some knowledge how each power set works).

    The Fist:
Punching punching punching, all that punching:biggrin:. I love MA and this one has some pretty impressive damage for one. Only thing is I like to be in the heat of the battle, im picky about defense.

    The MAster:
Same with fist except it feels slow to me, I enjoy this one but am having a hard time choosin it

    The Specialist:
Don't care too much for range, but this one is pretty nice. Plus swords. I like its verisitility with being upclose and wacking people with my swords. Still working with this one, but its a start.

    The Devastator:
I have experiecne with this, I loved it back then but....it just dosen;t seem the same as it used to be. Still love a big sword though.

    ANd lastly the Disciple:
Somehow i have always loved ego blades. I remember when these things were pretty darn fierce back then with damage. I still like them, but the pink drives me crazy. But im willnig to co-op with it.

Again, sorry if I sound picky. I know AT's are completely different from Freeforms, but I can't seem to figure out which one to take.:frown:

The Unleashed is free, is very versatile, and... is free. So, I'd go with an Unleashed.

Though if you want to be different, I'd pick The Fist.

I'm the only person on this forum who would suggest The Specialist. The only thing wrong with it is no melee lunge and some energy issues, but it still works. Two Gun Mojo then Bullet Beatdown ALL THE THINGS.

Serve little purpose your question does, for explain your motivations it does not.

    Aside from that:

Of course the Master feels slow compared to the Fist. The Master runs in tank role, which pretty much sucks ****. Unless you enjoy your play experience sucking ****, you won't be happy with the tank role (I'm going on a limb here, but maybe that's why the Behemoth didn't even make your list?).

I'm trying a Specialist right now and it's a lot better than people claim. Maybe it's too hard to figure out the best plan of attack is usually TGM followed by Bullet Beatdown? (The best plan of defense, of course, may be Eye of the Storm.)

The Devastator? I'm not seeing why that's on the list and the Blade is not. They're pretty much the same thing, archetypes that could be good if Cryptic hadn't decided to intentionally gimp melee archetypes by forgetting about self heals so they can use these archetypes to sell subscriptions as their version of going F2P

The Disciple, in my personal opinion, suffers greatly from Cryptic's obsession with mentalis powers being pinkish purple (and the blades not even recoloring properly while you're Gold subbed). Personally, I'd boycott this AT on principle, no matter how decent it may be. I'm not saying you need to have principles, but they'd help you reach a decision here.

We already had a mention of the Unleashed as a free AT that for mysterious reasons (see opening comment) didn't even make your list. Do you even have a reason? It's one of the most stable ATs out there and you actually have an easier time arranging yout hotbar because you can simply toss those force powers you'll never use (except maybe in nemesis alerts).

Of course, uh, does your main have a character concept? Because you know, if he does, maybe pick whichever AT fits it best. Devastators make for pretty lousy nimble martial artist, for example...
