CO Ideas!

edited April 2013 in Suggestions Box
So, I'm not sure if I should post these separately in separate threads, but here we go. Here's some ideas that I've been mulling about in my head lately. If you have any ideas that could help improve CO in any way, feel free to share 'em.

AT Ideas:

The Flurry (working title)

Whether it's from a lab experiment, mystic endowment, or sheer natural talent, your body can move faster than the naked eye! With this power, you can punch and kick enemies into submission with super-fast strikes and blows!

This AT would be a solid mix of Might and Martial Arts, with some whirlwind-y style moves that can knockback and push enemies around, ones that work like Dual Blade's Sword Cyclone, or Wind's Hurricane. It has decent Strength, Dexterity and Constitution or Endurance. It's concept is similar to that of super-speed-using heroes like the Flash and Quicksilver or super-fast martial artists like Iron Fist or Slade. This AT would be a melee/tank hybrid.

The Star*Guardsman

For a million years, the Star*Guards have been the pinnacle of justice throughout the galaxy. Now, after suffering through rank-crippling disasters on their homeworld, the agency has decided to recruit from a far-away planet of devoted, humble beings: Earth! Armed with the legendary Star*Staff and it's near-immeasurable powers, you have been chosen to vanquish evil and save countless lives.

This AT would be a bit tricky to implement, but it would combine heavy weapons with force and possibly some electricity moves and heals/revive powers. A special costume part would work best for the Heavy Weapons part, and if possible, one end of the staff itself could be able to emit the other powered attacks. There could be a few animations that work only with the Star*Guard's powers, and a glow effect similar to the Power Flight's dot/bubbly aura could work too. This AT would be an AOE/Ranged Damage/Healer hybrid.

To couple with this AT, a Staff-Flight Travel could be made, where a character holds the staff outwards to propel themselves around.

    Costume sets!

    Variety Pack 2:
This pack adds additional, NPC-only parts to be unlocked for characters, including the rest of Doctor Destroyer, Shadow D, and Defender's armor, as well as the remaining Power Replace unlock and crafted costume parts that were removed after On Alert. This set would also include the Cursed and Scourge parts, too.

Also, obligatory Fighting Claws costume skins, as well as a Combat Knife set of skins for single/dual blades.

    Services:

    Powerset Recolorer.
This purchasable item allows you to recolor any character's powers once, no matter what AT or freeform powers they have. While subscribers are able to change the colors of their powers without a real world currency cost, this item allows Silver players and former subscribers to do so.
With this item, though, you can't change each specific power to a certain color, like red for one power, blue for another.

    Hideout Mannequins.

With a small fee, this item can unlock a set of hideout mannequins that you can place a saved costume to, much like how the Premium costume sets are displayed in the game's Renaissance center. This item is account-wide, much like how the two-pack of costume slots work, and provides a few more options for a hideout's customization nodes, to place each mannequin on, like the tailor's weapon cases in a Cave Hideout or Basement, or a row of mannequins along one of the walls in a Moonbase or penthouse. It would cost resources to put up a mannequin, and there can be a few display options (holograms, traditional glass display case) to show them off with.

    Travel Powers:
    Bouncing Ball Roll:

This TP combines the jump height of Superjump with the roll of the RAD sphere (Though both jump and speed are scaled back a bit to balance) and with it, the character is able to bounce off of walls and floors. Although a hero cannot attack while using this power, there is a primary stat-scaled effect that damages enemy mobs as you roll or slam into them.

    SG Hideouts:

Now, people have asked for these for a while, and I was just thinking of putting my two cents in. While the main hideouts can only hold about 10 people, I'm thinking that the SG hideouts can hold three times as many people. These bases have at least two levels, and a main meeting room with a large table in (or near) the center of the complex, with numerous, smaller rooms and hallways surrounding them, all with modular customization. These smaller rooms can serve as living quarters, small labs, recreational areas and gyms, and armories or trophy rooms. Some of these rooms such as the armory can act as nodes to access SG banks, tailors, and crafting areas.

Buying each kind of hideout can unlock a certain set of themed trophies or areas, though only one Hideout type can be used at once, and only the SG leader can set one, while customization can be assigned to ranks if need be. There can also be specific areas to place an optional SG logo on, and some objects could be adorned with the SG colors. Also, the previous hideout mannequin idea can apply for SG hideouts, too, to display a team's 'original costumes,' fallen comrades, or confiscated villain uniforms or costumes.

    Golden Age Brownstone.
Originally owned by <Insert GA Team here>, this comfy, valorous building once served as a cornerstone for justice back in 50's Detroit. Now painstakingly recreated as a well-stocked replica, this building serves as the perfect sanctuary for a super-team that adheres to lawful tradition and optimistic morality. This hideout has an old-school feel to it, with trophy rooms stocked with gear from defeated villains, dorm-style bedrooms, beaker and test-tube stocked labs, and classic barbell and basketball court rec rooms.
The SG logo and colors can be displayed on a few wall banners, or on the center of the meeting table in the main room.
-The Skycarrier allows for secret vaults as a bank room option, and a Underground Armory passageway for some of the more dangerous items and artifacts, like ray guys, Gadroon ships, and Viper Tanks and suits.
-The Mage Master's Tower unlocks a Magic Library, Enchanted Wardrobes, and suits of European Armor, as well as a glowing 'Protection Gem' that can hover over the meeting table.

    Declassified Skycarrier.
After the Lemurian Invasion, UNTIL was grateful for how your team of heroes stepped in to save the city, and as a reward, they've allowed your team to take one of their skycarriers as a base of operations. This hideout has a very hi-tech feel to it, with it's hangar converted into a wide-windowed meeting room with a fantastic view of the scenery underneath (Desert, Canada, MC Cityscape, etc.) as well as several hi-tech laboratory options, holographic training rooms and displays, ergonomic, power and space-saving bunker rooms, and well-stocked gun-and-crate armories. This SG consists of several levels, with the top-most being a command tower with controls to fly the ship and activate the opening of windows, deck-accessing doors, and turret controls. The SG logo is displayed on the nose and deck of the ship, and the SG colors are painted on the ship's hull and are the colors of several holo-displays.
-The Golden Age Brownstone unlocks a art-deco Zeppelin style template set for the carrier, and classic boxing-ring rec rooms and WW2-style Sci-fi tech, with a tesla-coil styled engine core.
-The Mage Master's Tower unlocks a steampunk-esque, Victorian-style template for the carrier, as well as a special Magicite meteor power-core chamber, reclaimed stone golem statues, and a magic-gem powered alchemy lab.

    Mage Master's Tower:
Outside the restrictive, though beautiful Vibora Bay city layout lies a mysterious, empty plot of land, with a strange magic sensation surrounding it. To any ordinary citizen, it?s a plot of land that?s best left alone, but to you and your super group, it?s a haven of magic. Private, tranquil, and comfortable, for yourself and your teammates, for whatever powers they possess. The Mages of the Trismegestus Council have given you this grand, spacious tower after all you?ve done to help the city of Vibora Bay through its otherworldly crisises. This hideout has a very elegant, quiet feel to it, with book-packed library rooms, grass and tree-filled meditation rooms, and ornate, suite-like bedrooms. In the center of the hideout is a grand, elegant banquet room of a meeting area, where the SG logo and it?s colors adorn furling column banners and a glowing, reflective pool of magic in the center of it?s huge table.
-The Golden Age Brownstone unlocks a few brick-and-mortar building textures and artifact room options for the base, as well as a set of old-fashioned portraits and stone tablets displaying a selection of Witches and Wizards, and ancient, Turkarian-era rulers and Lemurian mages.
-The Skycarrier unlocks a series of rune-powered, magic-tech, alchemy-based rooms and items, including a set of moving Jade Statues and clockwork robot knights, as well as a set of steampunk wall textures.

Ninten, loving the ideas bro. But I love the signature even more!!

    Megaranger/Space Rangers.

How about a Tokusatsu AT? It'd be like The Specialist, but single blade moves and gadgeteer blasters. Ultimate move would be you turn into a Giant Mecha and do a huge Annihilator or Chest Beam!

THese ideas are pretty awesome; For SG bases, maybe we should also have a space station and/or a basic tech command center. I'd love to flesh some of this stuff out, it sounds like some great basics here!

If laser swords and rayguns had enough powers to make a good build with them, they would work for an archetype like this.
Mechas could be a new type of vehicle...

I made a pretty sweet Laser Sword build, but you're right about the guns. And Mechas as a vehicle would be sick, but only if they were huge. I'm talking Gladiator Imperator+SuperMag huge.
I'd still like to see a new Ultimate for an AT like this involving a Mecha summon, though. Think Fury of the Dragon, but a huge robo doing a finisher instead of a stationary tick-dealer.

Okay, also curious, would a sattelite hideout make for a solid SG base?

Was also thinking that a military hero-styled base could work.

As for ATs, I'm wondering why we don't have the option to have a default teammate revive so the I'm Down, I Need Help command can actually, uh, be used for something other than spamming a team's channel for an all-AT group.

I also wish there was an option to pick a few bonus powers with an AT, at 20 and 40. It'd be awesome to give my main Tanking toon a heat vision or gusty breath power that his CoX equivalent had.
Plus, it would give players the chance to pick a self-heal or buff ability that wouldn't break the game too much.
