I've been tooling up my level 40 Behemoth, preparing either level 7 or 8 mods but I realised that I needed three-slot gear as well, of course.
Is there a list of three-slot gear?
That has evaded my search ninja skills as such a search has lots of false-positives come from people talking about slots in missions and there are some holes in the Champions Wiki (that I sadly can't edit) about items that I suspect would have three-slots but have no info.
Currently the only way I can check the number of slots to buy an item in the AH, which is rather inefficient.
Has such a list already been assembled?
Superhero stories, done well, are about modern archetypes.
A Prootwaddle is one of the weirder player-character races in "The Fantasy Trip", Steve Jackson's first published role-playing game.
I believe the legion gear can take 3 mods but I could be wrong as I dont have any and its ridiculously expensive to get in the auction house.
I'm working on the basis that there is a lot of less highly sought after 3-slot items about.
I noticed someone trying to sell the Mercenary's Helmet of Energy as a three-slot item in the RenCen and so I checked the AH and found it for a third of the price.
On buying it I was able to confirm it actually had three slots.
I suspect there are a lot more items like this.

If you're content with three slots, just go to the Silver Champions Recognition vendor and take a look a the Heroic stuff.
If you run UNITY daily missions for a couple of days, you should be able to afford all you want. Inn fact, if you did special Alerts regularly, you may be able to get your first piece already.

I checked my main character and I have enough to buy one set of Heroic kit already.
By saying "If you're content with three slots" do you mean there are four slot items?

Looking back at the Legion Gear page to explain what was missing from it I noticed the four slot mention.
I'll have to work out whether it is worth me assembling a set of Legion Gear. As my requirements are to get through the tougher PE and improve at Alerts I should be OK with three slots.
Although it will take me some time to assemble nine level 7 or 8 mods to be able to test out that theory. I'm not far off and getting Science to 400 is an end-game goal of mine.
Now I have a question about Mods...
Rank 6 seems to be the best that you can buy from the CRS. I have not looked everywhere but it seems to be the highest mod that you can buy in-game.
My question is: Is there a higher numbered mod that can be found or purchased in-game using in-game currency and not Zen?
Also, how exactly do these Upgrade Catalyst function? Do they up grade a single Mod, a stack of Mods? The Cryptic Store is just a touch vague on this.

It sounds like you are talking about what the Wiki calls a Rank Up Catalyst so it is just a single Mod.
