You need to have the image hosted somewhere on the internet. Then you just put the address of your image between the "img" tags. There is no way to upload an image directly to the forum.

thats annoying because if I put in a link to Flickr,I think. It just posts the link but not the picture.




in the case opf the link in this post, even the link isn't showing

You need a direct link to the picture, not to a picture page link.
For example, you go to http://puu.sh/1tPkC , see the pic?
now using image function to insert said link, will result in:

Use Imgur, Photobucket, or Google+ for direct links.

Imageshack gives you the links that you can just copy here. Requires registration nowadays but that takes like a minute.

Yup. You tried to link this:

Where what you really needed to link was this:
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8385/8528063090_2730d5fec8_b.jpg

You need to have the filename at the end (see how it ends in .jpg). The way I got that URL was right click the image, and a menu popped up. I selected Large in that menu, and in the next page, right clicked the image again, and selected Copy Image Location (that's in Firefox, not sure on other browsers). That will give you the correct link to put in the IMG tags.

tinypic.com is my favorite - no registration, it uses a captcha...
hosts all size pics, and imageshack is always hosting the latest malware
