It would be nice to unlock skill level 500 in the various crafts.

Just an idea ;)

This will happen when the level cap increases to 50. Which will happen when we get the new zones intended to go with it.

    1. I could see raising crafting to 500...when CO gets crafting. #CraftingNow(just kidding, this hashtag stuff is stupid  )

    2. It's been said by devs that the level cap increase is not coming and will, instead, be replaced with some form of Alternate Advancement System. I, personally, feel that this is a much better idea than the generic answer of LvL Cap Increases which CO cannot even hope to support with enough content to make it a viable solution.

    3. The new zone isn't even on their radar. NW is behind schedule and what is done has severe issues which may or may not be resolved by the time this game actually goes live. So, in a nutshell, I would love to see this happen but I have zero faith in it happening.

Sorry that I don't have anything more shiny or positive. Maybe(big maybe) we'll get a SOTG or something after NW goes live and we actually get our devs back...course this might not happen at all. <shrugs>

Wasn't the whole crafting skill thing just a sort of "gimme" for all the players that had invested in upping their skills under the old system? It's all but useless under the current mod system...

Kind of how Ragnarok Online did their class systems? That could be interesting, but I have difficulty seeing how it could work out. I really don't want it to turn into a "Advancing your character is simply for the sake of vanity" - Ie. like Alien Swarm's promotions or CoD's prestige system.

True, but a system where you earn points to buy advantages, talents, specs(new ones perhaps specifically for Alternate Advancement), or powers(which would cost most of your accumulated points) could work out well in CO.

The main point of an AA system is to further customize/advance your toon by means which are not an additional gear grind or traditional levels. In this way you do not further trivialize existing content and it lessens the demand/necessity for new content. Now don't get me wrong, I want new content but a level cap increase is much more demanding and would make existing things like lairs worse than they are presently. Also, that lair review isn't coming anytime soon so WYSIWYG atm.
