Rotating Events all year... and then?

First was the Nighthawk event. Then came the (FAILED!) Destroyer annyversary event. Then we got the Lemurian Invasion. Now the Malvan Gladiator event is in the works (and really, was it necessary to remove the Lemurian Invasion, months of work for our small dev team, until then?). Possibly, they will also recycle old events, such as Bloodmoon, Foxbat's April Fools and Fury of the Dragon.

THIS is what Champions Online - Reloaded is really about.
Not vehicles, oh no! And it's not even so much reloading as revolving. It is about events, one after another (and appearantly with breaks in between - why?).

Eventually, there will be enough events to have them rotating all year.

And then???

I'm asking the Cryptic team:
Do you have any plans about what to do when there are enough events for a whole year? Are you finally going to fix all the bugs and flaws in the game? Are you going to unlock unused potential and improve the existing content, such as the Nemesis System? Are you returning to work on permanent content, such as new zones, missions or even just alerts? Are you actually going to work on the new features you talked about; Custom Sidekicks, SG Bases and Foundry?
Or are you going to call your job done and leave the game standing; spinning around its own axis with the illusion of ever new, but actually just revolving content, hoping for unknowing and uncaring players to spend money to ride the rusting carussel?

Umm... yeah, no. That rotating events thing is a pipe dream. They can't even bring Bloodmoon back on a regular basis. :frown:

You know, a constant rotating series of major events would actually be a GOOD thing. It would keep things (relatively) fresh and always have something new(ish) to do. At least it would be more than we have now.

'Wen considered the nature of time and understood that the universe is, instant by instant, recreated anew. Therefore, he understood, there is in truth no past, only a memory of the past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. Therefore, he said, the only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.' Terry Pratchet The Thief Of Time

Oh I totally agree. Given that CO is a F2P game now, any recycled event is most likely going to be new to somebody.

But then I also think new costume packs, Z-store sales, quality of gaming items, etc... are also good things but so far Cryptic shows little or no inkling of the same. :frown:

By the time Cryptic has enough events to fill a yearly rotation, with a 6+ month development cycle, the game will be 8+ years older. If they actually had a plan for something like this they would have told us by now. At least I would hope that they would.
