Farming in PvP?

I was logged on yesterday and got a pretty angry PM from one of my friends who had been...farmed in PvP?

I'd like to know why that happens.

If PvP rewards are useless or not really good, why on earth would this be going on?

Also what consititutes "farming" ?

Using a build that cannot be countered by the enemy player and killing the player over and over while ignoring other targets.

If the balance were closer, farming would never exist.

If your friend is a forum troll, then the farming is deserved. If not, they were probably just an unfortunate squishy target. I try to not attack people like that unless they go for me first.

Farming in pvp is that you have your carrots, right. You put em to the ground
and when you're ready to collect the harvest, some guy comes in, does a backflip and disappears for some insane reason, snaps his fingers and summons a plane out of nowhere.

BANG. Your carrots are now dead.

This is the unfortunate fate of those who enter BASH without knowledge.

Fortunately, most veterans and tryhards stick to ganking each other, they usually have pretty complex honor systems when it comes to Bash matches. There are, however, a select few who don't care about the fight, or fighting equals. Usually, those who hunt newer players are called out and hunted themselves.

This self-policing community is not much, but it's all we have.

If it's the troll I'm thinking of, then the reason might be because a squishy is the only thing this troll can kill.

Farming is what happens when you leave Champions Online and start playing Hero Games, but you forget to change to an archetype.

See, while Champions Online has this really cool freeform powers system that promotes creativity and creating a really cool super hero exactly the way you envision them, Hero Games actually uses more of an archetype-based system ( what other games might call class-based ). If you're not using one of these archetypes, the you won't really be able to play right, and people will kill you easily... which is the point of Hero Games, to go after the easiest target you can find and end the match as quickly as possible ( you get more acclaim the shorter the match is ).

Now, for some reason, Hero Games borrows Champions Online's free form system in a weird way where you have to assemble the archetypes... it's kind of like a big bucket of legos where 5% of the legos are used to build the thing you wanna build, but there's no instructions. The instructions used to be posted somewhere here on the forums, but I guess people don't do that anymore. They also don't tell you about this in the game anywhere, so I'm thinking the freeform archetype system was somewhat hastily implemented and poorly thought out.

Not sure why they had that strange link between Champions Online and Hero Games with the powers system... they are completely different games after all.

Champions Online: Be the hero you wish you could be in a better game.
