I have a Problem and I need a Solution

I live in Australia, I have a decent connection and I get 300+Ping on CO, how can I not lag when others with lesser speeds don't? I'm sick and tired of the delay leaving me disadvantaged, is their any reasonable method to improve response time?

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

    You realize that Cryptic doesn't control the entire internet, right? Your ping times are caused by the enormous distance between you and the Cryptic servers. There's little - if anything - that can be done to alleviate that.

    Honestly, you're doing pretty good, IMO. 300 ping means less than 1/3 of a second for the signal to get from you to the server and back again. I'm on the West coast of NA, and it isn't that uncommon for me to see ping of 6-700 when connecting to East coast servers.

    You could try using the proxy in the launcher options, it may not help at all, but couldn't hurt to try.
    Ashlocke was my original forum name but was unable to keep it during the PW forum migration. *Shakes Fist* :frown:

    The proxy, from my experience, usually makes things worse.

    P.S. Not that pings matter. There's no correlation between ping and random disconnects as far as i can tell.
