MASSIVE Earth Powers LAG AGAIN!

WHY WHY WHY?! This keeps happening again with like every other patch. Someone uses an Earth or Telekinetic power with rock animation and BANG, lag for 15 seconds EVERY TIME.

Obviously it isn't affecting some users, probably those with really power computers or video cards. Anyone have a clue (since Cryptic obviously doesn't) why this keeps happening and know of any fix?

    Did you try turning down the Max Physics Debris Objects setting in the video options?

    Your graphics card can't handle the amount of debris. Turn that setting down under Advanced Video settings, like Shieldtower said.

    Will do, thanks for the tip. Strange thing is, it has handled it well in the past and every patch or so it seems to go bad.

    Yeah, i can't handle that eartquake nor that eruption attack. it lags alot. :frown:

    I suspect there's more to this than simply saying that the GFX card cant handle it. I've never had a issue with the earth powers (I run several earth alts) or the TK power that chucks out the bits of earth (was my main attack for a good long time) untill now. Since about maybe 2 patches ago i've had this issue of near crippling lag when some lets of there earth powers yet there seems to be no change to the animations.

    To add furtehr weirdness I only seem to get the problem bad during docside dust up, even on the kraken mission with 9 other players spaming powers (including earth powers) I don't see the crippling lag

    This doesn't work with telekinetic maelstrom, the debris are spawned anyway.

    yeah, this is a ridiculous bug and it needs to be fixed. It's even being exploited as a distraction in pvp.

    FWIW, it seems to be inconsistent who it affects. I've got a good, but not awesome computer, and play with almost all the graphics settings maxed. I found myself on an Alert with an earth user today, and saw no slowdown at all, even though, by the end, he had buried almost the entire dock in rocks.
