My Little Superheroine

It was a challenge.

A few days ago, the topic of MC Zone chat was on My Little Pony inspired characters. I meant: "Technically, the Mane Six are superheroines. They have legitimate superpowers and all." And then I was PMed to prove it.
Well, I'm not exactly a Brony, but I know enough about the characters and what they can do. So, I wen't to show that they could very well fit into a superhero setting.

Twilight Sparkle (I loled so hard when I first heard that name! XD)
8552416728_e1227a72b9_b.jpg

A sorceress. Pretty straight forward. She has a vast arsenal of spells and eventually gained the ability to fly.

Powers: Arcane Sorcery
Passive power: Aura of Arcane Clarity
Travel powers: Teleportation and Phoenix Flight

The costume design is also relatively simple: Purple, magical-looking and sparkling.

Rarity
8551317853_4d85cbb709_b.jpg

She may appear to be more of an artist than a fighter, but clearly has the potential. Aside from moving objects with her mind, she also has some sort of magical connection to minerals and surprising close combat skills.

Powers: Ice (the closest we have to crystals), Earth, Ranged Telekinesis and Unarmed.
Passive power: Quarry
Travel power: Ice Sliding

For the costume, I went with a diamond theme, inspired by the original's cutie mark.

Rainbow Dash
8551317177_30c0045665_b.jpg

She can fly at up to Mach 10, easily withstand the preasure from it (not to mention the occasional crash), control the weather and has a black belt in karate. Don't tell me that doesn't sound superhero-ish!
If you still don't see it, just watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8er83h9Bbn8

Powers: Unarmed, Wind and Electricity.
Passive power: Stormbringer
Travel power: Light Speed and Rainbow Flight (Seriously, I begin to think that Rainbow Dash was the very inspiration for this travel power.)

Since Rainbow is an athletic tomboy, I wanted her costume to reflect that and look less girly than the others. I couldn't put all seven colors into her hair, so I made her a redhead with shades of yellow and deep red coloring, and used the scarf and sash for the other colors.

    Applejack (updated)
    8574728574_edf1c53863_b.jpg

This one was a little tricky. You wouldn't know it at the first look, but AJ is pretty much a brick, with superhuman (or rather, superpony) strength and endurance. She claims to have stopped a carriage bus with a single kick. Also, she is very good with the lasso and can outrun Rainbow Dash on the ground.

Powers: Might (including chains) and Martial Arts kicks.
    Passive power: Unstoppable
Travel power: Chain Swinging and Flag Speed.

I went for a cowgirl outfit, since that's pretty much what Applejack is. I can't really see her wearing tights. But at least the colors give her a patriotic look now.

    Pinkie Pie
    8551315759_5872e35ce1_b.jpg

Pinkie is a reality warper; the only Pony to display cartoon physics on the show. She can stretch her body in impossible ways, make things (including herself) appear out of nowhere, defy gravity and is awear of the Fourth Wall! Plus, her abilities come with a weakness: She can only use them while she is happy and easily drifts into insanity when she isn't.

Powers: Telepathy (I call this the "Rakshasa Solution" for a lack of stretching powers.), some Gadgeteering for random effects, and Rocket, symbolizing her Party Cannon.
    Passive power: Ego Form
Travel power: Teleportation and Mystic Flight

Of course, Pinkie's costume would be silly, funny and most of all pink. Ribbons seemed the best choice for that, without making it look ridiculous.

    Fluttershy
    8551314571_146071631d_b.jpg

She has the same powers as Rainbow Dash (flight and weather control), but is very timid and physically weak. On the other hand, she is strongly in touch with nature and displays incredible bravery and willpower when she needs to protect her friends. She has managed to stare down a dragon and even a cockatrice while resisting its petrification power.

Powers: Wind, Primal Sorcery, Radiant Sorcery and various animal pets.
    Passive power: Seraphim
Travel powers: Flight and Ninja Leaves

I tried for the costume to suit a nature heroine and also to reflect her shy personality: Earthern colors and few ornaments. The cape represents her wings.

So, here you have it. Plausible superheroines based on Ponies.

Nicely done, love the extensive use of texture in the costuming!

What? No Derpy Hooves? Lets not neglect the pony that most of the community can relate to, munkey included.

This must be rectified, post haste

    Otherwise, well done

I'm aware of Derpy and her meaning for the fandom. But... I don't think she has anything close to superpowers.
Okay, she can fly, but that alone is nothing special for a pegasus. And not enough to make a CO character either.
Also, there's no way in this game to get her eyes right.

I've actually seen someone named "Derpy Hooves" in Chat. Haven't seen him/her, so I have no idea what he/she looks like...

An alternate take on Pinkie would be to design her as Gadgeteering if you pick mainly fun and random powers as opposed to stuff that's more overtly weapon based since she's actually shown to have a bit of an inventive streak. Might also work as a better form of "pulled out from nowhere".

    Discord
    8563018262_b959dea0f9_b.jpg

Discord is a mischievous spirit of chaos, who messes with people's minds and the very fabric of reality, just for his own amusement. He has much in common with Q from Star Trek, even the same voice.

Nemesis power: Force (the most annoying one :p)
    Minions: Beastmen
    Personality: Maniac

I couldn't make him as asymetric as in the cartoon, but I think it works.

    Chrysalis
    8561911367_c274a021b3_b.jpg

The Queen of Changelings. I don't know much about her, except that she is evil and looks like a mishappen mix of a unicorn and an insect in her true form.

    Nemesis power: Darkness
    Minions: Insectoids
    Personality: ???

For this costume, I mixed Roin'esh and Qularr pieces.

    Pinkamena (that's Pinkie's actual name)
    8561910247_f4edf37942_b.jpg

Pinkie Pie's "evil" side. When she's feeling sad, her curly hair becomes straigth and her happy-go-whacky personality switches to a disturbingly demented one.

    Nemesis power: Telekinesis
    Minions: ???
    Personality: Maniac

Simply a "gothic", straight-haired version of Pinkie Pie.

    "The Great and Powerful" Trixie
    8612626795_8d1795a129_b.jpg

Trixie is not really that great and powerful. She has an enormous ego, but only average magical powers. Most of her magic is just smoke, mirrors and a lot of drama. She is a showoff, not even a real villainess.
The only time she actually posed a threat was when she got her hands on a powerful mystical amulet, which ended up controling her.

    Nemesis power: Telepathy
    Minions: ???
    Personality: Mastermind

Based on the original, I gave her a blue and purple costume, with a witch hat and a cape with stars on it. For some reason, I also put many buckles on it. The utility belt stands for her excessive use of special effects, such as smoke bombs.

Updated Applejack, upon suggestion. Now she looks more like a superheroine. In America!

Personally I think the orginial colour pallette was correct. This version may look more superheroish, but less like a human version of the subject character.

Added a new "villainess" and... uh, I think this one is supposed to be a heroine.

    Zecora
    8613734206_8033207332_b.jpg

I really don't know much about her. In FiM, she is a zebra and the only non-unicorn Pony who can use magic. And she is mysterious. Terribly mysterious (if you get the joke ).

    Powers: Primal Sorcery
Passive power: Aura of Primal Majesty
    Travel power:

I made her costume somewhat magical looking, and with stripes. Because zebra. Yeah...
