Immunity to Teddy!

In timed Alerts (Smash Alerts), as an Inventor AT, I am worried when spamming my Experimental Blaster attack, tap spam, turning Alert bosses into teddy and thus gaining high resistance to all damage. This is troublesome for me and usually causes the Alert to fail if the boss kept being a teddy. I am suggesting that giving all Alert bosses an immunity to teddified. Thank you.

No, this removes THE only crowd control left which works on bosses, it even works on Harbinger which is absolutely hilarious.

For comedic value and to have the inventor AT to have a gimmick, I say keep it, it doesnt do any harm.

Perhaps, have an even lower chance for it to occur on bosses...OR better yet...use other attacks?

I was around 20s when I did Alerts, timed one. It was a game of dps race, the only attack that dish out good damage in short amount of time that I found is tap spam Experimental Blaster. It was such an annoying when the bosses turned teddy, sure it was hilarious but the resistance buff that they get are troublesome. The chance are already low, 1% I think, but still it worries me. Either make Alert bosses immune or remove it and make it as an advantage, 0/1 point or something.

You sure that teddy bosses have more resistance?

Last time I did the Nemesis dustup mission, there is this inventor in it, and he teddifyed my nemesis, and we ROFLstomped him in no more than 10 seconds (bringing down the remaining 2/3 health) Normally it will take around 1 minute for the nemesis to fall, but that time it's noticeably faster.

Teddies do have significantly higher resistance BUT they have a significantly lower amount of HP compared to alert bosses, so high DPS rolling around the boss will take it out alot faster..

I've been the inventor AT, been in an alert where I turned Ripper into an Teddy and he got steamrolled, I guess it depends on the team you have...if your unlucky enough to be stuck with low levels teddy can be detrimental to team success, but then again, if you are a low level team, then chances for success are slim anyway..

You call the teddification crowd control? Have you ever seen what it actually does to bosses?
The chance is only 10% per hit, so unlike actual CC powers, you can't rely on it (not that you could rely on CC the way it is anyway, but that's another issue).

As for the gimmick: It's silly. Plain and simple. And I'm greatly annoyed by the fact that we can't play a serious raygunslinger, because there is always a chance for the teddy effect to happen.

Working around a problem is never a solution. And aside from that, do you really expect every single Inventor or general Gadgeteering player to understand that using his Blast power is a bad thing in certain situations?
It is bad enough that we have alerts that require certain powers and effects to win (Skarn's Bane, Trauma). But here we have a power that has a 10% chance of causing you to lose!

Or as was already pointed out win if your on a high DPS team as then you just melt through the teddies significantly lower HP. Also i may be wrong but alert bosses loose there normal powers when teddyfied which could result in a nice boost to the odds of a win.

Well um yea is it not kind of the point to learn which power best suits the situation?

I don't really understand what do you mean by significantly lower HP, the HP remains the same before and during teddified. The good thing that teddified Alert bosses is that they are unable to attack which is nice during Grab and Burst Alerts but for Smash, it just means that the time it took to take the bosses down much longer than non-teddified version which is the problem that I encountered with my Inventor AT so far.

I saw it used against a NEMESIS! Alert! (Smash) boss once.

Boss went from having 170kHP max to 9000HP max (so yes, it lost 161k max HP).

Boss died before Teddy wore off (it was at 100kHP give or take before).

I hate this power because of it's overly comical value.

I have no problems with it on comical characters, but having this teddy bear as a random, but mandatory, effect on this one power is a reason why I'm NEVER picking it for my gadgeteering toons, as none of them is a comical type.

It should has a 0 point advantage swapping this teddy bear effect to any other - like shrinking your target, or surrounding it in a neutral graphical FX.

I really wonder who thought that this FX it's a good idea in a superhero game.

Are you sure? Because I just remake my Inventor and leveling via simply doing missions, I have turned henchmen, villains and super villain(Ludwig) into teddies earlier today and the HP always remain the same.

It seems to depend on the enemy you're fighting. I've seen some alert bosses drop 100k when teddied, but others stay the same.

Maybe it has something to do with their rank? Passive? I dunno...Seems really odd to me.

I'd say that it was the same guy who brought us Attack Toy.

I do wish that the "teddy bear" Gadgeteer Powers had more serious alternatives available to them: I suspect that a zero-point Advantage that removes the teddification effect entirely would result in more people using said powers, despite making them weaker overall.

BTW: when you use it on the Harbinger, can you then steamroll it?
