What does it do exactly? It says
Increases your chance to Dodge AoE attacks by 10%
Well I had 92% Dodge from LR + EM + getting hit twice in a row. Blocked Gravitar's Force Det for 1.9k, with no dodge
Sounds more like 10 Dodge Rating to me or something :S
Comments
1) AoE dodge is an invisible stat hidden from site, but tied into avoidance in some way.
2) Does not work on certain NPCs
The passive DOES work as intended, and it is quite noticeable. The problem is that it seems to only work on certain NPCs. Most named villains (Poe, Grav, etc) get around this passive, but trash mobs don't get around it.
This is from personal experience.
Champions Online: Be the hero you wish you could be in a better game.
It only works on Master Villains and under as I recall.
Like Find the Mark, it's not working properly.
There are many specializations which are incorrectly described, and a few such as Brush It Off and Find The Mark which are outright broken. Still others such as Wither and Vulnerability that work but don't really show that.
And you wonder why I sound like a broken record on the forums going on about bug fixes...

Dose a list exist some where of the spec trees that are broke or don't work as advertised its getting rather annoying discovering 1 or more specs I've invested points in is busted on a character and that I'm going to have to at some point remove all my specs just to fix it
Test conditions:
- DEX: 2/2 brush it off
- Base dodge chance: 10%
- Optionally: Elusive 2/2 (Warden) was taken to verify that certain attacks are tagged correctly as AOE.
- Defense: 26% + Regen (health stayed at 100%, so assume 30%).
- Test location: Westside prison. Why? Because of this:
Let's verify that these attacks are tagged properly as AOE (http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=268561&page=2 if you need an explanation of what's going on):
Motolov Cocktail Throw (AOE):
Undodged, with 2/2 Elusive:
135/(1+0.26+0.3)/(1+0.2) = 72.1 (73)
Dodged (20% avoidance), with 2/2 Elusive:
108/(1+0.26+0.3)/(1+0.2)*0.8 = 46.2 (47)
Burn Patch (AOE):
Undodged, with 2/2 Elusive:
13/(1+0.26+0.3)/(1+.2) = 6.9 (7)
Dodged (20% avoidance), with 2/2 Elusive:
12/(1+0.26+0.3)/(1+.2)*.8 = 5.1 (5)
Glass Bottle Throw (ST control):
Undodged, with 2/2 Elusive (doesn't work for ST):
54/(1+0.26+0.3) = 34.6 (35)
Dodged (20% avoidance), with 2/2 Elusive (doesn't work for ST):
54/(1+0.26+0.3)*0.8 = 27.7 (28)
Now for dodge:
Type Duration Damage BaseDamage Hits Dodged Hits DodgePerc
Burn Patch 1817 24483 48185 4987 548 10.99%
Glass Bottle Throw 1817 155871 243937 4904 486 9.91%
Molotov Cocktail Throw 1817 34633 65063 652 67 10.28%
Burn Patch (AOE):
Chi-square: 5.415
P-value: 0.02
Motolov Cocktail Throw (AOE):
Chi-square: 0.3371
P-value: 0.5424
Thus so far, there is insufficient evidence to convince me that Brush it Off does anything at all. The Burn Patch result is somewhat interesting, but the amount of dodge provided is nowhere near 10%.
TODO: Does the spec affect dodge rating instead?
Dex PSS's first tier has never been that great, but this just makes it even worse

Thankfully this is not a concern because damage reported in combat logs is flagged as dodge/block/critical, eliminating the need to do any pre-filtering.
I will say though that these experiments over the past few weeks are making their way into a few respecs for my builds. Incremental improvement is the name of the game now.
Yeah pretty much- once I step away form other games I'll prob look into some of my (numerous) old builds too. Though the sad part is that this is all over things that are bugged.
I dun mind making corrections to builds cause of a misjudgement- that's on the user. But when its cause something actually isn't working as advertised.. well, the blame goes back to Cryptic, but the user still takes the fall.
frustrating
