So, I've been working on my supervillain-ish build, where although you've got a relatively decent attack (PBR), some degree of protection (Force fielding, and a few bits of CON stat things here and there), but the main force is by throwing wave after wave of minions at a foe.
I decided to go for zombies, mainly because we've got a lot of powers that have zombies involved, and because it can be explained as shoddy, mass produced clones made on a per-battle basis in a secret base then teleported in.
The main downside thus far is that I'm not entirely sure what superstats and specialisations to go for. With PBR, I know crits are something to be desired, and obviously I should pick things to make the pets attack more frequently and with greater health, but I can't help but think I'm doing something wrong.
It seems surviveable thus far,I haven't tested a fully levelled up 40 on the PTS yet, but level 1-17 has been fairly robust, being capable of taking on everything of up to one or two levels above the character, with very little chance of dying... Rebirth's there for when that happens (With, of course, zombies coming with you because more minions is good.).
There's still two powers left. I'm not really sure what to stick in there. It's usually a long time before I get that high a level, but I'm possibly considering the Implosion Engine, so enemies get sucked to a single kill zone for your minions to converge upon, and maybe some kind of hold. Tell me what you think, it seems fairly okayish thus far.

I'd go with Guardian instead of Avenger, and take The Best Defense. That gives an even better damage increase at 40 than Relentless Assault 3/3 (and you took 1/3).
For your final 2 powers I'd take Ego Surge (Nimble Mind) and Inertial Dampening Field. IDF helps your pets a lot. Maybe even take AoED / AoRP instead of PFF to further buff the pets.
I'm guessing because of Killer Instinct.... which doesn't work with anything in the build anyway. PBR is Gadgeteering, not Munitions.
My 40s: Munitions, Electricity, TK Blades, Gadgeteering DPS
Other toons: Fire, Heavy Weapons Tank, Dual Blades, Fightning Claws, AoRP Support, Bestial Supernatural, Archery,
TK Ranged, Infernal Tank, Ice DPS, Laser Sword, Heavy Weapons DPS
So, after incorporating the changes you've suggested...
As the pets are the quick summon uncontrollable ones, went with Aura of Ebon Destruction so they do more damage without lasting very long. I'll probably regret that, but it kinda makes sense to me.
Without a Personal Force Field, I probably should now drop Field Surge, if only because it doesn't quite fit with anything else. Maybe a heal, like conviction. *does so*
There's other small changes too, most of which of the same kind of logic.

Plus in this last build Concentration+IDF to switch between the two? Not so effective since u need to charge them. I tried it on a character and really its not so good.
You could instead keep either Concentration or IDF and get two passives: AoED for dps and for example AoRP for defense, switching builds on the fly as needed.
My Characters
I took Medical Nanites, as they work well now and fit his concept, but you could go for AoED instead. If so, change Compassion too. Presence mastery doesn't work with MN, so I will change it to Commander mastery for extra pet damage next retcon. His own attacks can easily be changed as I only chose them because a clown armed with a chainsaw and Gatling gun is funny
