Tech Valkyrie Concept

I am trying for a Laser Knight kind of build and have come up with the following after turning my brain to mush reading Pulsewaves excellent guides.

I chose INT,DEX and EGO as I am hoping for more of a DPS build. Dex I beleive works very well with Quarry and the bonus it gives to dodge. Also as it works with melee which is the core of my build. I was tempted by Energy shield>Laser knight but I am pretty sure thats going to drop my DPS every time it triggers. As for MSA that should in theory keep the balance for the increasing cost on every Laser Sword strike (?).

So far I seem to be tearing through the purple gang but given later areas any suggestions or feedback are welcome.

    Looks fine to me. I'd be inclined to make DEX primary just so I can get the Specialization that lets superstats boost Dodge/Avoid (and of course moar crits)...

    Concussor Beam and Wind Barrier block replacer both push enemies away, which seems counter-productive to a laser-sword user but they may be in concept and you can always lunge again anyway.

    I would be tempted to drop Inertial Damping Field for Form of the Tempest, for the increased damage, energy return on crits, and to free up the advantage points (form of the tempest doesn't need any advantage points)... and then boost Conviction to rank 3 OR get Bountiful Chi Resurgence Rank 2 with Resurgent Reiki advantage. It may make you more squishy, but the extra healing and extra damage/energy may be worth it.

    Implosion Engine doesn't look like a "valkyrie" power to me... but then a TECH Valkyrie, maybe. It's a NICE power, in any event. Although it's more "martial-artsy" looking, I love Inexorable Tides for melee characters --- the cone legsweep is great for mitigating damage as foes have to scramble back to their feet (and it means you can knock a foe down instead of blocking his charge-up attack).

    First of all I assume you want a more DPS based build than a Tanky one (from your comment on Laser Knight and the lack of Crippling Challenge/Challenging Strikes adv.)

    -As said by the poster above I strongly suggest DEX as a PSS to boost Dodge/Avoidance, and crits. DEX does not boost dodge unless you take it as a PSS and choose the proper specializations. Ditto for the suggestion on Form of the Tempest replacing IDF. Keep INT as a SSS.

    -Quarry is only half effective with non-physical damage (all of your damage, really). It is really good for INT/EGO and dodge/avoidance boosting, though. You seem to lean towards greater suvivability so it's fine (I personally love quarry). But drop Fair Game adv and get rank three!! If you want a pure damage boost and better energy you could choose Electric Form (boosts particle damage and increases equilibrium).

    -As for EGO as a SSS it does not boost melee damage (laser sword) and you get some of it from Quarry, so I would take either CON for more survivability. If laser sword attacks are your thing just go for STR to complement the hybrid melee/range aspects of the build.

    -Go with Force Shield if you do not want to lower your DPS with Laser Knight. For a 1 point advantage you get really nice energy returns even without blocking!

    -As for Specializations drop the Protector tree since it does nothing for your build... Take Vindicator and go for the Aggressive Stance /The Best Defence loop to get huge Offence/Defence. And better Crit Severity.

    -As for the powers... well your choice really depends on your playstyle.

    Oh by the way I was working yesterday on a similar conept, a Valkyrie that uses Laser Sword and Electric attacks in a mix of melee and ranged.

    It emphasizes DPS (not obsessively so) but skips DEX as a PSS out of boredom for it. It also tries hard to give some help to the group as a command leader with thw Arbiter/Overseer auras, IDF, and the Arbiter Mastery.
