Very true but the PC version is really that bad :I
The PS3 version on the other hand is a fun little online beat em up. It has less bugs and you dont fall through the floor each time you land >_>
Oh yeah and the Liga Brasil dont play the Ps3 version thats also a bonus.
But for PC superheroics I'd go for CO , it is the better game.

I love the graphics and the animations-Light powers are AWESOME! Thier hideout system is WAAAAY better than ours. Not to mention the Voice acting is way better too.
The Zones out class ours by FAR. plus they get constant content.
Freeform and character creator here is vastly superior. My friends are here so this is where I will stay.
but I feel like DCUO will be around longer than CO.
Also, I kind like that DCUO has no sliders, because that is why they have two-handed weapons. So i find it nice.

See that fact is debatable PW/Cryptic own the Champions IP were SOE rent the DC IP. Look what happened to SWG when TOR came out, and with TT stating that CO is making monies I can see Champions outliving DCUO and even STO not because its more popular because it isnt both the latter games have larger player bases but down to the facts that 1: PW have a knack of making cash from medium playerbases and 2: like i said before they own the Champions IP.
I play CO on the PC and DCUO on PS3 ( I hate the PC DCUO with untold anger >:C ) I hope both stick around for a very long time because well they are the only two super mmos out there :I
Like most I think DCUO is much more friendly and centered around a console. The keyboard controls are bad imho. Not the action of the characters but the social interactions are less than intuitive. The glorified sidekick issue was noticeable in beta for me. I decided against the lifetime during beta. I cancelled my pre-order too.I have created an account play rarely when I want something different since it went ftp.
I dislike not having a simple super strength and invulnerable power sets. This was brought up probably way too much during beta and immediately post launch. Ofcourse the fact that they told us to forget about those power sets and it was launching with what they had and our opinions were not wanted in that reguard. Then I remembered why I hadn't played anything by SOE after EQ2 and pre space wars in SWG.

PWE doesnt care about CO. Sooner or later they will stop because they dont want to invest in it as is, and they arnt going to do anything to get people to come here.
Sony at least puts money into DCUO to give constant real updates.

Constant real updates ?:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
SOE promised a montly update for DCUO at the start. When they failed (after the first month) to deliver that it became a quartely update, failing that it is now "a update when is ready" and they add the word "soon" that is a SOE copyright .Even on the DCUO forum they joke about that.
Same here. I played it now and then when I wanted to relax shooting a horde of bad guys without thought or remorse : I left when they licensed to a third party the euorpean version and my launcher stopped working, I should have downloaded it again but i didn't bother

All that may be well and true but the flipside is that even with them missing deadlines they still have substantially more content additions than we do...particularly in the last 12-15 months. Missing deadlines by a mile and still outclassing this game in content updates. Just makes me shake my head in disbelief some times.

But what worries me is that Sony and Warner Brothers are movie rivals if they have a serious falling out DCUO is screwed. With PW will CO most likely end up like PWI there to make up the numbers of mmos they have in their site. That lot tend to collect MMO's in a strange demented way no one really understands :I

DC is not for me. I tried. I really did. First off just getting out of the creator without dying of boredom should give you extra XP points or mission rewards! Gezz...then the horrible controls! (PC) The community there is also very strange. UI? Urghh...
I do think the game world itself looks nice at times. And the voice acting top notch.
But that's not enough to keep me playing that steaming pile of bleep!
And who cares about housing if the overall game-play sucks? So what...i can run off to my hideout, but i would never want to leave because that would mean I'd have to "Play" that crappy game with it's jacked up controls and stupid combos.
And to top it off, i feel like some forgotten hero. A "Z" list hero, you know the last letter on the list! I can Imagine Superman saying "Umm...what was your name again?" Thanks for the help "umm..Hero"!
If you want my money, there is a fairly simple way to get it since I am fairly free with how I spend it. First, produce something I consider to be worth buying. Second, offer it up for sale. Don't lock it behind a gambling scam. If I want something, I am perfectly happy to pay for it. But I will not purchase a CHANCE to get it, When I pay money, I have a perfectly logical right to expect to get what I want.

This. Dead on...this - my experience with DCUO exactly.
CO is so much better at capturing a fun, heroic feel and play.
DCUO's playstyle kinda felt weird to be honest. I tried i really did, i spent hours in the character creator, but when you swerve wildly about in the skin-colour part of the character-creation going from 'leukemia-yellow' to 'clay-face' struggling to get a decent skin-colour - you know something is wrong.
Then you find the extremely-lacking costume-options available from the start it is disheartening.
I believe I spent about 3-nights in-game taking in Metropolis and Gotham and while enviromentally there where some nice highlights here and there, the player models and animations were abysmal. I especially wondered why so many toons suffered that strange Jim-Lee exaggerated asthmatic heavy breathing thing on idling.

DCUO felt like a really deep X-Box twitch game more than a simplified MMO. If you like X-Box type games and want a little more depth, it rocks. If you like MMOs, you'll be as bored as I was in 10 minutes. I like arcade games - just can't play them for hours like I do with really deep MMOs.
So this is the thread where people who bought a lifetime sub for Champs reassure each others by speaking ill of Dcuo?
I actually liked DCUO at first enough to buy a lifetime, there. It's fun, fast gameplay with some interesting stories. The lack of customization, poor chat UI, and sparse content left me bored with the game after a little more than a month. I haven't been back there in well over a year.
At the time, it was a toss up between the lifetime for CO or DCUO. I feel I chose poorly.

YMMV
I still call bull****, because I love twitch games and only play games on my PC in wich I can use an xbox controller, including CO and DCUO, so unless the console DCUO has completely different control schemes for the same controller, it's still assnificent. I again point to Sleeping Dogs as a recent example of how to make 2 button combo based combat work in a game (you could actually do it with one), as well as the X-men Legends games as a way to make powers work with such a combat system (because MUA wasn't nearly as good). Quite honestly, the response time was terrible and the precision was worse.
Personally, If I were making a game, I would have left a basic light, heavy and grab scheme (left click, right click and left+right for mouse), with shoulder buttons to allow access for up to 8 powers (number tray 1-8). For weapon users I'd include a "draw weapon" button which a) allow them to take pics with their weapons, and b) click on **** without attacking by accident (for the guns). Their powers being reliant on combo activation, especially for the Lanters, is lame, and can completely kill the drama of a moment like these
In comparison to CO, DCUO is lacking major content. A majority of missions are dull, you level way to quickly, there is no end game, plus the grind to get new costumes can get tiresome. I feel like the devs did a half-a**ed job when it came to the game, plus they rarely keep the lines of communication open with their players. I played it for a month before uninstalling it.
CO on the other hand has major content constantly pumped out and---wait a second, I think I have mixed the games up by accident. My bad.
I've tried DCUO. And there is more to it than the better graphics, very different controls and very limited customization. It's not a bad game, but the devil's in the details.
- First of all; it takes FOREVER to instal! Well, not forever, but it took me THREE FULL DAYS! And my PC isn't exactly weak on the CPU.
- It has the old-fashioned (and sadly still common) naming system that has a terrible disadvantage over the one used by Cryptic: Account handles are not part of the character names, meaning that every character name can only exist once per server. That forces you to either be extremely original or spell your char's name in goofy ways.
- To make the first problem even worse, you cannot even choose your server! Every single country gets exactly two servers, one PvE and one PvP. Depending on where you live, you are stuck with a certain pair.
- By the way: Choosing a PvP server will make your new char fair game for high-level griefers. And since most of the missions take place in the open world, you WILL encounter a kind of griefer that spends its game time with little more than trying to keep players of the other faction from completing missions. If you get really unlucky, you can find groups of them blocading a certain mission.
Oh, and like in CO, there are no GMs to stop trolls and griefers.
+ On a positive note: Chat spam is pretty rare. I've yet to see anyone making Grodd jokes.
- Your action bar has only 6 power, 1 item and 1 device slot. And you can't switch your build without switching your role.
Also, the powers are poorly described. It happens easily that you pick a power that does exactly the same as one of your weapon attacks, except that it costs energy to use. If you make a wrong choice, you can only fix it with a full respec, which costs a flat amount of 500 in-game Dollar. The costs double with every further respec, but fortunately reset to default 24 rl hours after the first.
- There is currently a sort of event going on where red demons appear all over the zones. Unlike in CO, their level doesn't scale, but is simply set to the maximum of 30!
Yes, they have max-level mobs running around even in low-level areas!
- And last but not least; being a silver player really sucks in this game. You have your currency capped at 1500, only 12 bank slots, can't open Grab Bags (called Lockboxes over there, but you don't need a key) and can't trade with other players, amongst other things.
You now get a free hideout, but only cosmetic customization. The functional parts are gold only.
i was a fan of dcuo game but not no more after playing CO, wats funny is i usually dont spend money on mmos cash shop but this the only game i have invest in alot.

DCUO only lasts as long as Sony's willing to keep the PS3 servers online. When those go, so does any active development on the game - at the least.
Though I imagine by that point they may have DCUO2 ready for the PS4/Vita/whatever.
