I think Alerts are nice additions to the game but to me and possibly many of us (although I cannot speak for everyone) they do not replace or make-up for content. Alerts are like band-aids for wounds that require stitches or surgery.

While I do understand you are busy with Neverwinter. You are killing YOUR IP. From my understanding, Champions is yours. Please clean-up and take care of your own house before running to someone elses. We haven't had a new zone since Vibora Bay (2010) almost 3 years ago. The last comic series was over 1 year ago (2011).

For me Champions Online is becoming a bad relationship. I see the potential. I have hope, but I am continually disappointed. And like any bad relationship, I will eventually have to let you go because I'm tired of being misled and getting my feelings hurt.

Now, I think everybody wants this, I really miss permanent content like that, But, With the little recources they have, They don't want /can't make that kind of content, I know. Now, for me, It doesn't matter if they take months or more, But permanent content would be really good, Sadly, They have deadlines, So they can't spend 6 months on a small comic series, So they have to do these waste-of-recources "events", they could add the events as permanent content, but it seem they don't want to /can't to, So the only thing that i can hope is that the release of NWO is also the release of our devs to come to work again into CO.

I think the playerbase who remains needs to come to a harsh truth:

Its not happening now, or anytime in the foreseable future. Now if the game has enough, and you are content that is wonderful. If you aren't getting what you want from Champions, there are other games that may or may not deliver what you desire in terms of conent.

But sitting here posting on the forums lamenting this game's situation isn't going to change anything...

I'm right there with you, as are a vast majority of the players.

Hard to believe it's already been 3 years since Vibora Bay and 1 year since Whiteout.

On the bright side, the ability to customize your gear to match your stat choices, several of the power balance issues fix (BCR /w RR, Imbue for trololo crit severity with 100% guarantee to crit, 2GM sucking, archery powers sucking, AoED sucking, regen sucking, etc.), and even the Questionite exchange are all GOOD!

It's a shame though, the negative keeps outweighing the positive; the bug fiascos and half-baked solutions outweighing the progress made. Executive management of this game typically has been one step forward, two steps backward.

    Bottom-line: Is explorable content needed?

Hell yes. And in my thread asking people what they want in 2013, #1 is bug fixes and #2 seems to be various descriptions of "content" (however people seem to define that; many equate it with a need for the Foundry so THEY can make the content, win-win!)

WTF is wrong with you? No, events are good, but they shouldn't be one-time only.

No offense, but if you don't post your displeasure or happiness on the forums, which is supposed to be for feedback of all sorts. What else do you suggest?

That's the point, Events by cryptic's definition aren't permanent, per se, they are fine, but as a content model, they are bad, because they are temporary, if they were like Blood moon was, repeating each month, they would be a good idea, but the way cryptic makes them (1 time and then gone forever) is a bad idea.

    Exactly.

Although I write praise on the forums too (trying to keep positive and negative feedback from me balanced), the forums ARE the place to talk about overall criticisms!

    Not in-game, on the forums.

You can rant & rave all you want on your Mumble or favorite in-game text chat channel, but it's not recorded where others will be able to publicly read it.

Besides it's very annoying when people in game start whining about how doomed it is. Have some fun! I'm in-game to blow stuff up, sell/buy/trade stuff, or hang with friends, not to read your ******** about how doomed everything is on Zone chat (actually a reason why I occassionally switch to my "limited" chat tab which has Zone chat off)

I understand your point and I can agree with that.

You don't seem to understand my point, what I'm taking objection to:
    You said "events = bad"

When others read this, particularly and devs, it's mostly likely going to be taken as: "Oh so no more events then? Gotcha! The players hate events."

"Crafting needs to get reworked" --> Solution: remove crafting

"Fire powers are OP" --> Solution: nerf

"Ego Storm's Malevolent Manifestation advantage is grossly OP and needs to be removed, and Binding of Aratron is brokenly OP" --> Solution: nerf ALL hold mechanics

(your signature) --> Solution: no more events at all, but we'll sell you more lockboxes!

I understand you, but as you wrote it it's worse than having written nothing

I agree with the op, but they should do this after and only after they fix all of the bugs and glitches they already caused by rapidly pushing out content.

There will be no champions renaissance.

    I am certain of this.

Look at the PWE/Cryptic misson statement, they expressly say thet are an mmo puppy mill.

I couldn't see any distinction between APs and CS except CS features comic panels and has a semi-interesting story though it seem to be really random.

I say Foundry and CO can live without updates for 6 months.

Good point. You're obviously not too familiar with Cryptic. They do this kind of thing a lot. Running off to another project I mean. I've always thought that Cryptic should make single player games. They obviously don't have the patience for upkeep on an MMO.

This is true. There are many topics about new content and not much from Cryptic about it. So suffice it to say, they're pretty much ignoring us. Unfortunately there aren't many games out there that give the superhero MMO experience. And even less that have this level of customization. So if you know of any, I would be happy to play there instead.
