Guys and Hair

So, mostly, I make characters with beast heads and helmets. The other day, I was trying to make a serious, Shadowrun style corporate type-a "Mr. Johnson"-and I realized there are absolutely NO appropriate hair styles to do this with a male character. Seriously, it's a collection of young and restless, wacky, and varying degrees of bald.

And it sorta' hit me... one of the big issues I have with CO's editor consistently is the lack of good hairstyles for men. I have other issues with some strange, seemingly selective and arbitrary things that the editor can't / does not handle on guys, but hair is consistently a pretty big one.

I think it'd be appropriate to add several more male hairstyles. Comics are full of men with all kinds of different hair-should a super hero game be any different?

Your not the only one, I think I got three or four toons that all use the same hairstyle do to how bad the others look.

I'm kidding. Having nice hair is very manly.

What we should be talking about is some nice bushy beards and staches.

I support increased customization ideas in general but this is a pretty solid one.

They could even sell a hair-pack on the Z-Store containing two to four dozen different types of hairdo's and even some more facial hair options (beards for men, eyelashes for women, eyebrows for both)

A few more free default options perhaps and sell an advanced hairs pack for profit. Maybe even take user art submissions for determining what goes in the pack?

Females suffer greatly when it comes to hairstyle choices too. There are hardly any options for satisfying short hairstyles for females. It's ridiculous to the point that I'm reusing the same three styles for all my characters.

Obviously, I'm not complaining on the lack of styles in general. Females get an abundance of long hairstyles (which is so predictable, stereotypical and sadly expected).

    You had me at Shadowrun.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

Personally, I'd like to see some nice well-trimmed beards and 'staches. Think more Riker (or Tony Stark), less Tom-Hanks-on-an-island (or - hmm, hard to recall anybody in comics with beards like that).

Also, a nice business-style cut that's all one color. It's really weird that when I take a Golden-Age hairstyle, and set the primary color to a normal hair color (like brown), it still fades into my secondary costume color on the top of the head.

And, of course, long hairstyles for men that don't look like a parody of hippies from the '70s, and short hairstyles for women that are more practical and less punk-rock (sure, that look works for Blackwing, because she's got issues, but I wanted to make another female toon once, and was discouraged by the lack of short hairstyles - it always seemed to me that some of the long ones would really get in the way in a fight).

looking at my current avatar and sig you can realize that currently in CO it's impossible to create a female toon that resembles her hairstyle.
So yeah, the long hairstyles are lacking too.

Males do have a very poor selection of hairstyles, and females do suffer from this as well (Not quite as badly) as far as hairstyles that actually look good.

What I would love to see, and would be more than willing to pay for, is a costume pack that added nothing but a variety of new hairstyles for Males and Females. A hairstyle pack would be pretty well received and widely purchased by the community as a whole, I'd imagine.

    More hairstyles for everyone. Please.

Also pretty much that here too. :P

We don't have any hair like General Zod, closest thing is the first male Golden Age hair coloured black.

We need more forehead without starting to bald!

I agree completely. I'm curious as to why we don't have more facial hair selections like:

    -A goatee with no mustache.
-A trimmed beard with no mustache.
-a trimmed, unconnected mustache and beard.

And when it comes to haircuts, we really lack something short and 'scruffy' or spikey. About the best we get is the widow's peak. I would also like to see a 'war stripe'- a short-cropped mohawk.

Too many hairstyles in CO for men are the sort I would consider 'for girls or unmanly boys'.

Looking at it, I think it's an issue of hair being made for NPCs first and the gaps not really being filled in. The aforementioned slicked back hair is one example but I saw other quirks like having Dreadlocks Medium but not a Dreadlocks Short or Long. Perhaps a list of sorts could be put together of what's needed?

There should be more long male hairstyles in the game. I wanted a long hairstyle for a goth character with bangs covering half the guy's face. Like a long emo hairstyle. With such insane character customization, I would've expected this sort of thing, but really there are only two or three long hairstyles that look good

I would like a decent short men's hairstyle. The kind where the hair is swept forward....like this:
    http://www.mens-hairstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Short-mens-hair-2013.jpg

I keep using spiky top with sides, but it doesn't look right. I agree that other hairstyles are lacking too...especially men's, but women's could do with some adds.

I would indeed purchase a hairstyles pack, even two!

    YES PLEASE MOAR

Also, hairs that are available for both genders. What if my hero is an androgynous alien with fabulous hair? Who are you to judge my Gay Avenger?

Not weird at all, and defenitely needed. While they're at it, add some cuter more domestic looking beast heads.
