Multi-colored light power - which set?

I'd like to make a character that fires multicolored light for powers - sort of like a Dazzler or Jubilee. Which set would look the best? I tried Force with bright colors on the powers - what do you think? Would Electric or even Celestial look better? Mix them up?

Thanks for any advice.

For a Dazzler-type powerstyle with flashy moves, I'd be more inclined to take the electric powers, but Force is also just as good, with its huge explosions. It comes down to more of, if you prefer the massive knocks of Force's powers. Electricity has very good DPS output, so personally I'd prefer that set. Then again, Force Cascade is one of the strongest attacks in the game, if I remember correctly.

Try mixing up some powers from all the sets, see what you like.

The beam powers from PA are also worth a look.

Or if you could try telepathy with seraphim as a passive.

Thanks! Great ideas. Question: if I mix up Force, Electricty, and beam/telepathy powers, then I think Elec Form does me no good, right? Would I just go with a defensive passive so I am free to just pick powers that look cool?

That's what I do when I cherry pick powers that don't have a mutually beneficial Offensive Passive.

I think Stormbringer from the Wind set would be the closest thing. It increases Crushing, Electric, and Cold damage, so Elec and Force powers would be boosted. But the particle damage from beam powers would be left out.

I'd strongly advise you to give the ranged TK powers a try. Very glowy, very bright, and some of them just look pretty much exactly like fireworks (IMO). Go check out Telekinetic Burst, and TK Assault to a lesser degree. The passives you'd want to use in that case don't have very pronounced effects, but the powers themselves (attacks, shields) would work great for a "colored light" theme, I think.

I've been gone a while - did not know TK now had a ranged option - awesome! Curious - in a TK build I assume I use Ego Form, TK Blast (or Burst?) for AoE, TK Assault or TK Lance for Single Target, Ego Reverb is the Energy Unlock, and Ego Surge for the Active Offense.

What would you use for the active defense and the heal?

Also, what are the best primaries? I assume Ego is the Primary stat but I am not sure.

    Thanks! This sounds like fun.

That would probably be the basic set-up, yeah. Ego Reverb, TK Assault, and Ego Surge are all musts, I'd say. TK Lance is a good power too, but probably not strictly necessary if you've got Assault. For AoE, you've got TK Eruption and TK Burst... TK Burst will be great for your theme, but Eruption is a better power (IMO). Assault and Eruption should look awesome for a 'light' character, though.

For passives, you've got options, depending on what you wanna do with your character. Ego Form is good for DPS, but you could also do Seraphim for more of a support toon... it would look similarly good for your theme, and might actually be more in line with what that 'type' of character would do.

Either way, I'd say you'd want Conviction for your heal and Masterful Dodge for AD... It gets kinda old, but they're the two best powers in their categories, so worth taking (IMO).

Primary depends on what direction you want to go, as well. EGO is great for both, though you could make some pretty cool support TK toons with PRE, as well.

HERE is a really good build for a support-ish TK toon that still does decent DPS, and is alot of fun to play (credit to MoL). If you put TK Burst in that open power slot, I think you'd be pretty close to something you'd enjoy, both for effectiveness and theme.

Thank you! Did not think of Seraphim and I like the idea of high PRE and a heal so I can do some support.

Vala's Light is a good candidate for a heal. Pretty colours...

Here's a neat trick for your concept of hero.

If you use some costume parts that are clear (The Power Armor Arm/Leg Accessories, The Gadroon Shield bracers, etc...) and make the color for them black, they will be transparent. However, if you choose a passive, like ego form, that has a colorable glow to it, these costume items will just magically appear when it is active.

Not really build advice, but for your theme, it fits.

I have an Ego-Blade toon that uses Seraphim as her passive in Support role. It results in a pretty survivable DPS build. She probably doesn't put out as much DPS as she could with Ego Form in Melee role, but her self heals help keep her alive.

Glad you're enjoying it! I think Seraphim is an "underrated" passive... Very versatile, and a cool visual effect.
