    http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Cryptic_Studios

A list of Cryptic devs. This list is quite old, so I combed through it and googled the names of all of these people to check if they still worked on CO.

Robobo/Rob Overmeyer- Steeped down as Exec producer, but still a dev, as of Jun 16th. Massively's Article including this.
Tumerboy- Gone to STO. Post demonstrating he's there and not here.
Stokeman/Brad Stokan- Our new Exec Producer, see first link.
Lexeme- Nothing could be found. Apologies
Ame-Lead designer. Last seen March 9th. Nothing further.
Akinos- Systems Designer. Last seen June 8th. His last post.
Gentleman Crush- Systems designer. Last seen Aug 10th. Last post was the Nighthawk AT.
GMTiyshen- CO Community Rep. Obviously not here anymore, being that we have Trailturtle. Post confirming this, post #3 Also check the post after this containing Tiyshen's name in STO devs.
H2orat- Video production manager. Moved to STO. He's in the list.
Dominus Carnifex- Nothing could be found.
Drannic- Moved to STO. Check the chart on h2orat.
Blue_Fire- Moved to STO. See above.
RavenAkurei- Last seen July 12th. While the post is archived, everyone refers to the dev as RA, and google agrees with them.
ANUBIS- Environment Artist. Unknown. Last thread not found. Apologies.
Splosions- He makes Splosions, apparently. The 4th post in this thread also stated that he is active.
NisDiddums- Last seen on This PTS update For those of you who can't see it, it's pretty regular. Posted on October 26th. I'd consider him still developing.

So yeah. 5 stolen from STO, 8 of those remaining I consider to be inactive or missing. This leaves Stokeman, NisDiddums and Splosions. That meet my communication cutoff date of 3 -5 months or so. This amounts to 3 devs, including our semi-Community mod that we share with someone else: Trailturtle. This Doesn't include people joining the CO dev team, because honestly, in my 3 years in CO, I've never heard of such a thing.

There's your answer. Took me about 2 hours of googling to find it, Brou.

    TL:DR: 3 devs, and a part-time Community Mod.

One correction for you on Gentleman Crush (post 26): http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=192271&page=3.

    Prove it.

No theory. No "I think I saw this thread," then neglecting to link the actual thread. Don't point at the dev tracker.

Produce proof. Until then, you are circulating a lie.

1 dev or 300 devs, the fact of the matter is that champions is not in good shape.

If there is a small dev team, it's cryptic just not caring about the IP.
If there is a large dev team it's mis management.

Considering how slow things are, I would hope there is only 2 or 3 devs working, more than that would mean they were either lazy or incompetent.

I genuinely believe we could be doing as well as STO given a similar amount of attention and funding.

Some folks on your list joined partway through CO's run, including GCrush, Splosions, Tiyshen and TT. I'd like to say that at least half the people on your list weren't on the team at launch, but I have nothing to back this up but my memory, and that is none too good these days, so I'll leave ot at those two. Also, at least two devs who were on staff at launch were replaced some time ago -- the lead powers designer, Balseraph, and the rewards designer, Antiproton.

    No recent SotGs.

    No recent UNTIL report.

2 devs. 1 dev. 10 devs. 30 devs. Even a 100. The actual number isn't as important as the fact that there hasn't been any assurance given to us that there are significant development plans down the road for the game.

I think the more appropiate thing to say is that the game is being handled by a skeleton dev crew because it sure feels like it.

I remember the angst the forum felt last year around this time.

    We had semi-weekly costume packs.
    Whiteout #5 was still new.
The Christmas Event seemed to last forever.
    Grab bags had been introduced.

And we were complaining about lack of communication.

    Deja-Vu all over again.

    Except...

Last year the CM and Devs told us to hold on and be patient, stuff was in the works.

....And we got OnAlert. Of which I have mixed feelings.

    Now, just the chirping crickets.

Splosions popped up to but I didn't see anything from him about new content in the pipeline.

    Soooo....

    I dunno...

I'll just keep playing my Behemoth and see what comes. Hopefully all sorts of shiny to make me want to resub.

I have not recently seen anything that proves CO has even one dev working on it, let alone two.

That said, claiming as fact that a specific number of devs, two in this case, are all that remain is dishonest in my opinion. If you know that your information is made up, claiming that it is factual is dishonest.

And That said, I believe that those making claims about there being only two devs working on CO are more likely engaging in exaggeration, hyperbole, or just plain goofing around than actually trying to be taken as factual.

I do agree with those who comment that the specific and exact size of the dev team isn't really the concern, but rather the rate of development.

here's the drill. The 2 devs thing comes from people feeling that there isnt enough focus on the game.

It's sort of the inverse of a pirate radio jockey and is "two fans". He has no way of knowing how many are out there listening to him. Because there's exactly zero real communication.

That's what's going on here. There's NO communication to let players know what direction the game is going. So, due to the observable, continuing problems and lack of communication, the default message is "down the toilet".

NWN is supposed to be out "early 2013". Here's hoping that means "February or March" and not "June 1". And here's also hoping that some of the CO devs get released back to this game before the launch. Because telling people that they're going to have gone a year with no real improvements (or even bugfixes) to the game is going to go over like a lead balloon with a hydrogren bomb attached.

I think the only likely fact that really matters is the reason behind the whole "2 dev" discussion point: Anybody that plays this game wants more devs, however many there actually happen to be. Frankly I'd be overjoyed to just just have somebody (admittedly not a dev, but it would be nice for visibility) update the website news more frequently... just saying Happy New Year, giving a shot-out to an underused power framework, pointing to a video blog, some screenshots they think are cool, anything.

Fixing really visible game issues like invisible objects which would be offputting to a potential new player would be nice to.

Honestly? It'd be worse if we found out we DID still have a full team of 15-30 devs.

Because, then, the question becomes "WTF have they been doing all this time?".

    Playing Super Mario Brothers?

They are not playing Super Mario brothers for fun: they are taking inspirations for the new comic book series that promises to beat demonflame and aftershock.
In the first issue you will have to save a princess from a Grond sized gorilla that will throw king sized barrels to you and the only way to reach him will be to have someone in your team with telekinesis to keep things of any descriptions floatings in the air . You will have to jump on those things and use them like a stair of sort. It is advised that your travel will be acrobatics or superjump. If you win you will get a permanent sidekick :a little two legged dragon that you can ride.
And someone is protesting that we don't get new content. Beat that if you can. When he word will spread we will get here more new players than WoW:biggrin:

Star Trek Online: Also known as Champions Online 2.

Neverwinter: Also known as Champions online 3.

Does this make me a retro gamer???

Even if you somehow managed to play any of those on a console the answer would still be no. You'd be a wizard instead.
