Power Enhancer Mods and Weapon Gear

Considering the course Champions Online is on these days, I thought I should suggest something marketable.

It's basically a mix of Power Replacers and Vehicles. Sounds weird, but can work and would sell like warm bread.

A Weapon is a piece of primary offense gear with a special extra slot for a Power Enhancer mod. These are mods that can only be slotted in Weapon gear and grand a specific <inster damage type> Burst buff determined by the mod itself. The amount of Burst damage is determined by the Weapon's level. The chance for this Burst buff to apply is determined by the mod's rank. The highest possible rank would have a 100% chance, adding the Enhancer's damage type to every attack compatible with the Weapon it is slotted in.

Flame: Enhances Fire projection attacks.
Frost: Enhances Ice projection attacks.
Charge: Enhances Electricity projection attacks.
Storm: Enhances Wind projection attacks.
Blast: Enhances Force projection attacks.

Bow: Enhances Archery attacks.
Pistol: Enhances Munitions pistol attacks.
Rifle: Enhances all Munitions rifle (Assault, Shotgun, SMG and Sniper) attacks.
Bomb: Enhances all Munitions explosive (Grenade and Rocket) attacks.
Modulator: Enhances Gadgeteering sonic blaster attacks.
Laser: Enhances Gadgeteering raygun and experimental blaster attacks.
System: Enhances Power Armor munition attacks.
Generator: Enhances Power Armor beam attacks.
Battery: Enhances Power Armor laser sword attacks.

Style: Enhances Unarmed and Martial Arts kick attacks.
Sword: Enhances Single Blade attacks.
Combo: Enhances Dual Blades attacks.
Claw: Enhances Fighting Claws attacks.

Fist: Enhances direct and chain-based Might attacks.
Hammer: Enhances Heavy Weapon attacks.
Stone: Enhances Earth attacks.

Crystal: Enhances Ego projection attacks.
Focus: Enhances Ego Blade attacks.

Artifact: Enhances Darkness projection attacks.
Icon: Enhances Celestial projection attacks.
Book: Enhances Sorcery projection attacks.
Badge: Enhances claw- and chain-based Supernatural attacks.
Toxin: Enhances Infernal projection attacks.

Projection Weapon gear replaces the aura particles emmited from the emanation point when fired, from the projectile in mid flight and from the target upon impact with one depending on the slotted Enhancer mod.
Unarmed melee Weapon gear replaces the speed line aura emmited from the fist/foot/whatever and the impact aura on the target (this includes the Burning Chi aura certain Unarmed powers have) with one depending on the slotted Enhancer mod.
Melee Weapon gear adds an aura to the weapon model and replaces speed line aura emmited from the weapon and the impact aura on the target, all depending on the slotted Enhancer mod.
Ranged Weapon gear replaces the projectile with a FX depending on the slotted Enhancer mod.

Fire Enhancer: Applies Fire Burst.
Ice Enhancer: Applies Cold Burst.
Poison Enhancer: Applies Toxic Burst
Sanguin Enhancer: Applies Blood Burst (Toxic with Blood aura, as seen on vampires).
Slime Enhancer: Applies Slime Burst (Toxic with Slime aura, as seen on Qularr).
Force Enhancer: Applies Force Burst (Crushing with Force aura).
Wind Enhancer: Applies Wind Burst (Crushing with Wind aura).
Spike Enhancer: Applies Piercing Burst.
Cut Enhancer: Applies Slashing Burst.
Electric Enhancer: Applies Electric Burst.
Sonic Enhancer: Applies Sonic Burst.
Plasma Enhancer: Applies Plasma Burst (Particle with Plasma aura).
Nuclear Enhancer: Applies Radiation Burst (Particle with Radiation aura).
Cosmic Enhancer: Applies Cosmic Burst (Particle with Kirby Crackle aura).
Ego Enhancer: Applies Ego Burst.
Dark Enhancer: Applies Shadow Burst (Dimensional with Darkness aura).
Light Enhancer: Applies Light Burst (Dimensional with Celestial aura).
Chi Enhancer: Applies Chi Burst (Dimensional with Burning Chi aura).
Rune Enhancer: Applies Rune Burst (Magical with Rune aura).
Hex Enhancer: Applies Hex Burst (Magical with evil magic aura, seen on Sovereign Sons, Trey Kings and Horrors).


Sounds complicated, but should be a lot more versatile than Power Replacers and easier to make than the Vehicles were.

    That does sound pretty cool. I could see them using the same system they had with Power replacers to impliment this, just use a different slot rather than a Primary gear one.

    Kind'a like how they were going to have the Aura slot, that way it is seperated and not a Become device. Could even have it attached to the Gear Slot area. Mainly so it doesnt take up an item slot since there is only 5.

    awesome idea there Rokuro. I know a certain Unlimited group of people who would love this if it came out :biggrin::wink:

    I support this idea. This is something that I would love to see be implemented.
