I would guess the answer will be yes eventually.

On the down side NWO's last announced release date was early 2013. I'm guessing there are still at least 3 months to go on this project (probably more). The beta invites for STO lifetime account holders still haven't gone out, so beta testing can't be very far along with NWO.

Then in all fairness it is only a matter of waiting. I can wait.

Speaking of dying MMO's. I can't play The War Z yet untill i reload my pre paid card :(

I figured, if i'm gonna play an MMO that's all dead, may as well be because the genra is zombie post apoclaypse, not because every dev in the game has been put elsewhere and the game no longer has an upkeep.

As others have said CO isnt dying, it's in a stasis mode. I'm more likely going to hold on to that, I love the game for RP and for explorable content, I know I havent done every mission everywhere over and over again. So until that time comes, I'm content with what is in place for CO whilst it remains in a stasis mode.

New Content is needed though, and not in the form of Lock Boxes. :p

Probably true. I expect the vast majority of Cryptic's resources are allocated to NWO currently.

    And STO.

    CO's last 4 patch notes: http://co.perfectworld.com/news/?tag=co-patch-notes

    STO's last 4 patch notes: http://sto.perfectworld.com/news/?tag=sto-patch-notes

Notice the slight difference in how much gets fixed/worked on in each patch?

Nothing is more succinct or factually accurate than seeing this..

I feel that if/when CO gets new maps and zones it will get new/returning players.. but the fact is.. the brand loyalty is GONE.

Frankly.. If DCUO and Marvel Heroes didn't suck so hard I'd have left CO myself. Major loss of business opportunity because the company was caught with their pants down. Too busy neglecting the game resources to capitalize on the HUGE opportunity to steal the market share of a genre.. instead they are releasing a "New" fantasy MMO?

We all see what happened to Rift, right? It was a GREAT game.. but a dime a dozen. To SWTOR.. and all of its fail.

I'm aware (I play both games). The difference seems to be (IMO) that STO is the main money maker for the company so the STO team hasn't been cannibalized like the CO team has been.

That might be true, and the conditions imposed by the IP owner in the case of STO contributes to avoid stagnation.

However, while I am not expecting same level of development of STO the asymetry is too high. With CoH out of the picture, it is a bit shortsighted that they not only did not increase the rate of development but rather freezing everything to the minimum. My scenario is that NWO is coming along but needs a lot of work. Given that they don't want to damage STO, they decided to go to the already forsaken/neglected child that is CO.

Maybe Phase 2 (it was just Grav bikes) got reworked to include ground vehicles and actual content beyond a single mission to play them with.

Or everything was put on hold until late January.

The winter event on PTS has been off since the patch. How are we supposed to test this event with it off?

Not even a PTS patch in over a week?!

No sign of Gentleman Crush online.

Even have a new dev "Lordgar" posting our updates instead of our usual.. Human Resources changes behind the scenes.

If I remember correctly, that wouldn't be the first time an event wasn't started when it was supposed to be.

    BUG
The Winter Boots Primary Offense (gear from the Misfits Soldiers Mission, I'm not sure right now of the name) gives you a boost to Strength instead of a boost to your Primary Super Stat.

Yeah maybe they decided to rework things and make the new vehicles actually have some appearance customization options

This is by design from my multiple runs of Finkle on Live.

There's 24 'new' items that drop in Finkle. 8 Offense, 8 Defense, and 8 Utility.

Each one has +Your Secondary Superstats and a specified stat. So there's one for Str, Int, End, Rec, etc etc.

I don't understand it at all. And the 3 item 'bonus' is bunk, too. Just put it on before turning in your daily quest and take it off again (as the items suck otherwise).

.. I think we're ALL very anxiously anticipating new patch notes for PTS. My eye is VERY what happens next and when they'll announce it.

The longer they wait, the bigger the patch needs to be. Then there's the issue of WHAT the patch entails.

It had better be a final itieration of Phase 2 with Grav bikes saying here it is, along with telepathy (little changes like % chances on interrupts when not using Manipulator Form) test for a week before we bring it LIVE :3

I wonder what was wrong with the Xmas Event that it had to be pushed back...

I don't understand it at all.

It makes sense when you think about this:

It takes up more Hideout bank slots and the bonus it provides makes Zen worth less. Since it is making it easier to get Q by another 10%. The people willing to farm it to get the versions they want are the people who farm Q the hardest to convert to Zen. This high surplus of Q gives the farmers' more control of the market to help drive prices down. They have all the Q they need but sell it in chunks to make the top 5 offers change in their favor to get the most Zen. The easier it is to get Q the more worthless Zen becomes.

The lower number of Q it takes to get 1 Zen the more worthless the Zen becomes.

The more Zen that gets exchanged for in this way makes less to go around

In order to get more Zen when it runs dry players have to spend more money to try to get that Q.

If they add more items to the Q store, people who want to get those items but don't want to farm the Q will put as much money down as they can with their useless Zen.

    In conclusion:
Hardcore players are distracted by the farm to get these items which helps farm Q faster.
They exchange the Q. (Having a majority gives you control of what it is worth.)
Zen gets you less Q per point.
More Zen must be paid to PWE for others to get the Q items.
    PWE gets more money.

...or in my case, run it 5 times, get a full set of 3 items, sell every other one that drops from then on out as they're all terrible items.

Oh, wait, I see, you're talking about making multiple sets for characters.

This entire event is designed just oh so poorly.

Personally, I hope it's a fake. I hope Cryptic has learned by now that these WORLD EVENTS are a complete waste of development time. Spending all that time to create something that the players only get to play for a few days? Not the best way to go about spending your limited resources. *shrug*

There is always the possibility that they did do away with the WORLD EVENT structure and turn the Lemurian Invasion into a new Comic Series/AP.

But, as there is no official word on anything new being worked on AT ALL I'll go back to enjoying my vacation in Tyria.

Surrounding the island and accessible to heroes? Just as long they arent magical sharks with ranged powers I could deal with that...but what about the nemesis minions in that mission where you have to remove tracking tech from the Lemurian sub? Wouldnt they be eaten? x3

I would just add them in a couple of spots around the island. Definitely not in the beginning area.
