The real issue with teaming in this game is the lack of need or incentive to do it, given that this game lacks challenge and its really easy to do most of the content solo.

Personally, I don't think that a random pug for a tank and spank fight constitudes real team content, since there are no team mechanics or overarching goals that require real group effort other than spanking a bag of HP to 0 before the timer runs out. They could have achieved the same result for a solo fight if it were not for the huge amount of HP you have to grind in a limited amount of time.

When I think of team content, I tend to think more "Lairs" and things of that nature than Alerts.

EH? Most players I know think they are a great addition . The only problem some people have is the fact that lowbies use them to level. Never had problems teaming myself. I just wait for a LTF in zone or get some of mah buddies and away we go \o/

    Isn't that their designed purpose?

Not as originally presented. The implementation has not matched with how they were sold (figuratively) to us originally.

Ahh I must educate you ^__^ I myself have no problems with lowbies in alerts along with others a few months back via several SG's we did a test to prove lowbies could indeed perform well in alerts.

No re read what I said . SOME people had issues. Not myself.

Then I whole heartily appolgise for misunderstanding you.

You have to bear with me a bit as I have said many a time English isnt even my second tongue and I tend to be a bit hot headed. ^__^

My fellow forumite Smackwell has a phrase that helps in such instances . I think it goes along the lines of "Shut the *BEEP* up Nepht!" You will have to ask him whats behind the beep. XD

If it is a quote from Smackwell I am pretty confident that the "beep" was NOT kittens...unless "kittens" was followed by, "suck."

Yeah, I tend to think of things like COH's paper missions or Incarnate Trials for endgame (yes I know that system had it's issues, just giving an example). Some thing that's quick and easy to do like Dr. Destroyer's Factory but longer than an Alert. But not that much longer.

Resistance for me is ridiculously long. I just don't have the time for something that long anymore. Not that you were suggesting something of that length.

If there had never been a COH there would never have been a CO.

    THAT'S JUST NOT TRUE!

It also might be followed by "...are good eatin'."

And also ideal for new players who will come to the game and look for a quick way to level up a character.. Then they get bored and leave, or complain about the game's lack of content......or reach 40, not knowing how to leave the city!

I'll simply bring CoX's Issue 14 as an example, and what people were doing with it (at least before the "nerf").. Alerts aren't a bad thing, they just need to be kept under control instead of this.. And seriously.. We can do Alerts all day long without a stop.. Why it's not the same with UNITY missions for example, for those who like some "variation" in their game?

On the other hand, I, and several others who have expressed a similar sentiment, would have quit the game long ago if alerts hadn't been implemented. We could pretend that if they hadn't added alerts that they would have added a new zone, but then we would have to pretend that the amount of work required for the alerts is the same as what would be required to make a new zone that we would actually be satisfied with.
