How about a taunt for those tank concepts that like to stand there like a boss and force enemies to attack them instead of the tank jumping into the enemies? It would work like this.
=Taunt=
Requirements: Tier 1
Method: Click
Type: AoE Taunt Description: The taunt would force the enemy and all enemies around him to attack you. Their movement speed is increased during this duration up by 50% and their ranged powers are disabled during the duration. They will attack you for 12 seconds. This will put you on the head of the threat tables compared to others that have generated threat on the enemies.
In PvP the taunt merely taunts pets and limits the distance of the enemy's range powers to that of melee.
how about this...TP foe...simple idea..city of had it...you click an enemy use the power your enemy appears in front of you..used with a good dps attack its devastating.would make pvp interesting as well. it would help melee reach enemies that are ranged without having to take damage running jumping up to them. used with a stealth power makes surprise attacks very doable. really miss my tp foe stalker.
Not quite the same so your suggestion is still valid, but these might help you meanwhile as they do allow you to stand still while dragging ranged combatants into melee with you.
I don't think it is practical to disable ranged attacks since some enemies might not have melee attacks, but I do like the idea of an ability reducing their range.

IMO, sticking to tank/dps/heal, old school threat mechanics is one of the things holding this game back.
