Good changes. But 120ft is always more than our 50-100 ft characters powers.

I could understand that the vehicules have a slighty better range than characters, if they wouldn't have a lot better travel power speed than characters with travel power R3, and/or the strenght of the aoe damage which outperform a lot of character powers too.

The vehicules have better speed, better range, and have more power strenght as many characters. It's bad. For the long term of the game, of course.
You will have to reduce more vehicules advantages, guys. Before the release, after this will too late, you couldn't do it without a revolution because players don't like nerfs.

Tips: let the 120ft range, let the travel speed as now if you want to sell them, but reduce the power damage of their skills and reduces their aoe sphere range damage too.
Because hum, 100 ft sphere for an aoe, how to say that...
And gives a look at dodge/avoid/damage boost mods also.
Vehicules shouldn't be better than characters.
Vehicules must be a choice, a way to customize our heroes but not a total boost, a must have.
Co doesn't have any challenge, give more strength to players won't do anything but trivialize the content even more it already is.

Bug: The black bike (don't recall the name right now) the propulsion fire is being produced on the wrong spots.

vehicles are dramatically underpowered compared to players, and you want to nerf them even more? this makes no sense

    Sniper rifle has 120ft.

Now Vehicles don't out range stuff. (At least not anymore then a player can.)

    Good show.

    Really ?
Have you do a lot of nimbus, takofanes in this halloween event ?
Because i don't know for you, but when i try it, i'm 1st, 2nd or 3rd. And i can say you than even with this character, i can't do better than a "non common" player with a hawking interceptor.
This means than anyone of the others players in the takofanes/nimbus list of players can't do better too. if not, he won't be first as he is, right ?
And hawking are a lot weaker than the new vehicules on the pts.

You know what, when you will be in game, search for a very good player named "sidewinder II" and go doing a destroid PQ near of the destroyer factory with him, if he's agree to test this with you.
Test your better characters with it and come back to post your numbers. Do you want ?
After this, you will be able to say if yes or no the vehicules are underpowered

I was messing around with a gadgeteering build and well I was using Rank 2 Experimental Burst Ray and the Arcturus Cooling System Advantage.

I was happily firing with overcharge at 3 stacks with the cooling system kicking in so it didnt overheat, then a gadroon style portal encompased my char and I was transformed into a man...

The man was wearing an orange space suit style costume with grey shoulderpads, he had brown hair and thick black glasses.

This effect only lasted for best part of 2 seconds, I was so shocked I didnt even screenshot it. So I realise this might be hard to believe, but I swear it happened.

The portal then appeared and I was transformed back...

Please tell me if this was a bug or an intended and coded for side effect... O_o

After much trying I got it to proc again:

It's intended. "Unforeseen consequences" is a half-life reference, your toon got turned into Gordan Freeman. Grats, it's a one in a million chance.

Oh, also, gaeyln is one of those "DIS NOT POSIBURE!" players that can't imagine someone can do over 10,000dps on a character, or solo Therakiel's temple. So there's no point in even acknowledging him, guys.

yes ive done plenty of open missions and guess what?! players were on top every time! i dunno what champs you subscribe to, but the vehicles DPS is pathetic compared to players. You can make sniper an AoE, and get lively 15K crits with it to boot, compared to ultra super death lazors 10 second charge for only 20K damage on average. I have vigorously tested my own character against ALL of teh vehicles, and my characters annihilate things on average 3 times faster than the vehicles. the Vehicles DPS, on the DPS versions, is comprable to my DPS on my support characters. i am not saying Buff the vehicles, but a nerf to them as they are currently would be a joke

Happened again xP. Its quite unnerving, just try and imagine explaining why during a duel you suddenly turned into a man xD

Well, on the topic of whether the vehicles can out dps players... I'd like so see someone using a vehicle outdps this particular Kigatilik run. The other names besides my own have been blurred.

    http://i999.photobucket.com/albums/af113/Falchoin/MoarCrazyDPSBlurredNames.jpg

Kali is a support character and was in the support role. As you can see, the dps character along outdid her dps by 6000 and some change.

Certain vehicle-users did often get high in the charts on Tako, including 1st sometimes by wide margins. To do this at all makes them comparable to solid DPSers though I suppose not the highest of the high. But most DPS builds aren't the highest of the high.

The other common winning builds I'd noticed were Elec toons, Infernal toons, and certainly DW spammers, often Unleashed due to the bonus damage bug or whatever ATs have.

Sometimes the logs wouldn't catch all the participants (perhaps due to jets being too distant or too many people in general) but I noticed this from looking at them casually (not using a parser).

There's obviously some 'tricks' to it, but if you haven't ever noticed the jets placing high in general during Bloodmoon you're probably not looking hard enough.

i cant help but feel likethe hawkwings are getting teh **** end of teh stick when they only get 2 mod slots and the rest get like, 8. Please tell me that's still a work in progress for the hawkwings. also what abotu customizing teh look of the vehicle? even if its just colors?..
also, shouldnt these vehicles be available for more than just c store and drifter salvage? how about setting them up for silver champ recognition? or any other kind of recognition at that, or questionite even though recognition would be nice, would be nice to actually earn something again with that

Actually I think there's more to it than that. I have had an issue during those fights where the majority of my attacks register no damage, they don't even show up on my combat logs and the parser reflects as much. Whether it's due to limitations of my hardware, my internet connection or something else I don't really know. I can't really replicate it but it only ever happens during fights with multiple people such as the recent Mega D invasion and Tako. I did not experience it with Deathlords during the regular Blood Moon which I attribute to the fact that there's usually only about 15 or so people because of the not quite predictable nature of the spawn. I don't experience frame rates dips or rubber banding during those fight, Overdrive and my Form triggers meaning the game know I'm attacking except the game thinks I'm hitting nothing. I'll probably have the same issue with Clarence.

As for the Interceptor's damage, it is actually pretty decent which came as a surprise to me. The real factor is the range. Taking aggro usually means cutting down on your damage, whether it be by having to use BCR (usually stacked), blocking, or just plain using time on a non damage related power. The jet however experiences no such DPS drop since it just out ranges a target. In a straight up DPS race when both an optimized build and a jet can just pewpew without fear of taking damage, the jet loses. Or if it's a fight where the jet can't avoid damage, then it's going to die while the hero will have more options.

The rotation is pretty easy too, it's just that I think most of us didn't think much of them when they were introduced so we never really paid attention. That and their premiere setting made them out like they was paper since you can't out range Franklin Stone. We also laughed at the charge power due to the cooldown but in longish fight where it can be used multiple times such as with those open world bosses it does spike up the damage output since they're the equivalent of about 6k DPS but only for that shot.

Paint the Target: Not sure about this one. It seems to use all of your energy and the debuff doesn't persist for any length of time, so you can't really take advantage of it yourself and your teammates have only a few second window. I think the energy use should be less and/or the debuff should last longer.

    Nope.
    Part
    {
    Bone M_Vehicle_Attach
    Geometry V_Hips_Car_MIL_01
    Material M_Tail_Tight_Wolf_01_Avatar_Cloth_Singlesided
    PatternTexture V_Car_MIL_01_Mm

    Color_0 233, 233, 233, 255
    Color_1 237, 0, 0, 255
    Color_2 237, 0, 0, 255
    Color_3 0, 18, 12, 255

    }
    In demo syntax:

Red: The bone this costume part will attach to(M_Vehicle_Attach is new!)
Orange: The geometry. This can be anything, but only some will show/align right.
Green: The material and texture that will be wrapped around the geometry. I am using the wolf tail material because the other materials cause the car to turn solid colors.
Yellow: If this part accepts colors, these choices will matter. (This car took colors.)

Try not to use bugged scoring systems that have no logical math to them as methods of comparison. I've been bested by healers in that scoring system (however when using the parser, I cleared them in DPS). Try using the parser, because its actually reliable.

Too many improper grammar usages...urgh, I'll just say again, as an experienced player and someone who uses Actuallly viable methods of calculation that vehicles never outperformed players, with the exception of the Hawkwing's 'chest beam' attack, in terms of spiking capability (but only that).

Actually it is with the advantage  either way, none of the vehicle powers can match the spike of a sniper.
Ps2: theses vehicules powers have 5 secs charge ? or not ?
And most damaging powers, omit Ultimates, have 0 second cooldowns, your point? further more vehicles have more cooldown via the reload system.

After much trying I got it to proc again:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=106043960 - What my char actually looks like

The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference.

Alternative response: Aw man, you cut the ponytail? Sellout...

It looks like a poor attempt to compete with Half Life: Full Life Consequences, but using Black Mesa instead of HL2.

Quick Question: Do some AT's have some form of hidden damage?

The reason I ask this is because my FF ranged Electric build seems to get/do less damage than when she was a Tempest AT.

The same is true of my FF magic char (using Grimore skills).

Might just be a little odd, but seems strange that an AT should outperform an FF. Then again, my FF's are probably the worst FFs ever made lol:biggrin:

The general idea is that FF's suffer from diminishing returns after a certain stat cap, while Archetypes do not.

You oh so desperately want it to be a bug. :>

I wish it were a bug for freeforms.

Akinos confirmed it was a bug during the PA review.

...He also said they had no idea what the issue was and never got it fixed no matter what they did.

EDIT: I wonder now, could the alternate solution be to remove DR from offensive boosts on Freeforms?

Whilst I am new to the FF side of the game, I think it needs to be fixed...

Nothing says you're new to FF like not being aware of the AT damage "bug".

Bottom line tho, an offensive AT can hit harder - an offensive FF will survive what an offensive AT can't.

Hahaha...before the LTS you didn't have much of an opinion there hmm?

Ultimately the current dynamic does give even FF players some reason to use an AT (not that it's impossible to match/exceed them with certain FF builds, especially non-DPS). Personally I don't really care either way. It hardly destroys the appeal of FF for me.

Given the choice, a very select few would pick AT over FF. As I have both, it's what keeps me using my cursed (my main) and my soldier even with all my FFs - of course, if I could have just converted previous 40s to FF slots instead of having to level brand new 40s, my ATs wouldn't be ATs anymore.

Oddly enough I am in the exact opposite position. My main is an Archer with more hours of play than I care to mention invested in him. I would rather have the damage bonus of an AT for him than the ability to take a self heal. The knowledge that he is held back from performing as well as he could at what he is supposed to do because I paid for a subscription makes it pretty much impossible to enjoy playing the character.

Which will likely hold true unless Cryptic makes an AT with your best dps build or they make an AT that has AoED + pets.

You don't deal damage when you're dead. The loss of stars means less damage as well.

Of course if you're sticking to specific tasks, you can get through a majority of content without any self-healing.

Not sure if you're saying you're running an AT Marksman or that your upset that you aren't hitting as hard as a ff.
