Invisible body parts, without complete invisibility.

I just had a chat about the headless characters you can make when selecting Huge Rigid Helmet and then Nighthawk's hood for headwear. This inspired me to think of something that has been requested a few times before: Invisible/missing body parts.
Sadly, there would be a problem with this: Many players would use them to make a completely invisible character.
But I think I found a way around is.
* Head Type -> Invisible: No limitations.
* Chest & Arms -> Invisible: Can only be selected with Chest Wear, Jackets and Integrated Shoulders.
* Hands -> Invisible: Available as Long and Short Gloves, both using the same "costume piece". No additional requirements or limitations.
* Legs -> Invisible: Can only be selected with Hips Wear & Gear, Short Skirts, Medium Skirts and Long Skirts.
* Feet -> Invisible: Can only be selected with Pants, Baggy Pants, Hips Wear & Gear, Short Skirts, Medium Skirts and Long Skirts.

I'm not a big friend of limitations in the costume creator, but I think in this special case, they are justified. The above limitations would make sure that there is always enough additional pieces, like chest wear, so the character as a whole stays visible.

it would be great to have something close to invisible costume parts, maybe allow us to change the opacity of those parts and set a color to them,so we can have either nearly or completely invisible arms or legs,or allow us to have translucent colored arms or legs, but overall

I agree. Translucent body parts would be even better. If they are made like the PSI and Holo pieces and not like glass, setting the color to the darkest black would make them invisible.

I'm all for invisible body parts. I've been wanting to make a dual-blade Nemesis with invisible legs (Sawed-Off Shogun).

I for one, welcome our invisible overlords and...
    *hushed whispering*
WHAT? What do you MEAN THEY'VE UPDATED STEALTH? YOU MEAN THEY COULD BE HERE ALREADY, WAITING TO STRIKE?
    *more whispering*
Wait. So... There's no way for us to have invisible characters permanently? Our Invisible Men have to eventually come out of stealth?
    That seems... Anti-old-literature-ist.

Cryptic! Why you no like the Invisible Man?

I'm supporting OP's idea just because of this pun.

I hate necro'ing threads, but this one isn't entirely lost to archives, and by gum, I'd approve of this.

I'd like to be able to make Dr Cerebellum's empty robot-suit again for odd occassions and RPing without it being the only thing i could play for many days as happened with the Cryptic Stole My Brain glitch.

And if one day we ever get Foundry I want to be able to make a Who Brain-napped Dr Cerebellum set of missions!

And it's be great for making ghost characters and magically enchanted suits of armour etc.

We could ALWAYS use more transparent/translucent/holographic parts in the costume selection.
