Dr. Destroyer event still causing crash

The event I tested last week on the PTS caused instant crashing the moment I got within 100 feet of the event.
This time on live I am able to attack a few times before the client crashes.
Also, if I try to log on and there is fighting at my character's login location, it instantly crashes before I even get into the game.

This makes the event 100% unplayable for me.

How to get around the crashes: (if you're used to playing CO at max)

    1) Make sure your graphic drivers are fully updated, AND using the newest betas. That's version 306.23 on NVidia's side of things.

    2) Turn OFF Shadows, Reflection Quality, and Lens Flares.

    3) Under Detail (graphic options), turn your sliders (World Texture Quality, Character Texture Quality, etc) to half.

    4) Play crash free. For me, everything else is still on max, short of AA which I have off.

To help with low FPS issues:

    1) HUD - Other Players - Show Other Player Name set to NEVER.

    2) HUD - Show X Damage Floaters - turn ALL to OFF except for your own (to make sure you're still hitting the target).

    3) Make sure your inventory bags are all closed, and your quest log is closed up.

Cryptic's text takes a LOT of FPS to process for some reason.

Sadly, after the first crash, the first thing I did was to lower all of my settings to rock bottom, it didn't help. I crash more or less just the same.

Just like on the PTS, I crashed there last week, lowered settings and continued to crash.

Hopefully the patch they are applying now will help. *crosses fingers* :frown:

So far so good. After they did their emergency patch I've run through several events all on my normal max settings without a hitch.

    Good job Devs.
