Just want to say good job on Cape Glide. I love how the cape conforms to whatever cape your toon is wearing. I particularly enjoy the look of the torn cape and the Dr D NemCon/Mystic Cape while flying. AND the handling mechanics, nice, not just another flight power. Thanks and GJ!
Can the power be used without a cape? I mean, just gliding with that animation?
Yeah, no, sadly, since it's a cape glide travel power, it'll pop out a basic black cape on you if you don't have one.
Though if enough people requested it, mayhaps Cryptic could release a regular Gliding power, or otherwise retool Cape Glide with a 0-point advantage that removes the cape.
I know they don't like 0-point Advantages, but if one were added to let you use Cape Glide without adding a cape, I'd be all over that TP. Just sayin'...
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
I'm probably alone here, but I wish the flight speed wasn't so fast. Cape glide should be a little more slow and lazy; think Arkham City. Right now, it just feels like flight except with a cape outstretched to me.
I bought this power intending to use it on my Steel Hawk wing character, who doesn't wear a cape; just steel wings. It looks so good on him...Except for the giant black kite that pops out of his back.
Please Cryptic, can we have an option to not display the default cape?
Curious...does it stretch out the mini-cape or just give you the default?
If it doesn't it might work for those with the bat wings...
Sadly, I think I know the answer to this.
The answer is implicit in your question - the Bat Wings, like the Steelhawk Wings, are an Arm Accessory, not a Cape, and thus can't be "stretched out".
I'd really like an option for Cape Glide without a visible Cape - it'd look really cool on Skyfire, who has the Steelhawk Wings...

Which is why despite the praises from the OP, it SUCKS. The only way I would have likely used this travel power was if it was usable with the armpit wings we get as arm accessories from the Halloween Creatures Pack (or perhaps a regular wing). I often wonder if the devs get it when they do things like this.
PS: And this power should have been a "Glide" power. To this day I don't know why they had to force the word "Cape" in there as if "Glide" didn't already exist as a word.

Same problem I have with Phoenix (and now Shadow) flight.
Unfortunately, when Phoenix Flight came out, I based my purchase off of how it was displayed on the PTS -- it allowed you to keep your wings. I even still have the screenshots. ~_~
I bought the Halloween pack just for the bat wings on the sides (attached to the arms) and was planning to get this glide travel power... until I found out it gives you a DEFAULT CAPE. ugh..
I would totally buy the travel power if...
1. There is a new version without a cape.
2. The default cape is removed completely (cape should only appear if the character is wearing one).
3. There is a way for players to set it to 'No Default Cape' and vice versa.

It's too bad, that the cape is required. I was hoping for some option along the lines of jetpack flight, which can be used without a jetpack.

"It was THIS big!"
2. Hide the default cape when Feathered/Bat Wing arm accessory and Steelhawk Wing bracer are equipped.
Also, a natural feathered version of the Steelhawk bracer would be nice. Plus an unfolded Bat Wing has to be made.

I want underarm capes/wings.
I don't want blanket parachute.

I wanted this travel power (fast gliding), but I don't generally use capes on heroes.
