Infernal Tank, help?

So I'm trying to build a tank to play along with my friend's melee dps character. They're themed characters based off of the horsemen of the apocalypse, and this one is supposed to represent Pestilence (I would take the actual Pestilence power but I don't know how long two people running around with offensive passives would last.) I still haven't gotten a character past the teens yet, so I'm not really sure how build options work out at the high end, and have no experience tanking. Hope you guys can tell me if this will be able to survive and keep aggro at all. Hopefully it will be able to put out some actual damage as well.

Vicious Cyclone has a short duration. I like using Quicksand, it lasts twice as long. It also slowly increases in size to 25' so it has a bigger area and it can take Challenging Strikes. Ego Sprites can be fun for an aoe CS as it also has a dot effect.

I was planning on using Epidemic as my main AoE because it's the most thematic for the character. Vicious Cyclone is good for bringing enemies closer to you, yes?

Something I do with my Infernal tank is:

Charge in, Thunderclap (with challenging strikes), then start the DE maintain. On henchmen and some higher villains, this will interrupt alphas, put CS on the group, and even give you room for your Epidemic AoE if you don't need to jump right into DE.

I would drop the self-res for Conviction...and even that is probably overkill. I would also put the adv points from Gifts of the Storm into something else, I never found that adv to be worth the cost.

But for the record also, 2 players both running offensive toons will kill things so fast that your survivability issues become insignificant.

Remember: Half the people you know are below average...

Do not correct a fool, for he will hate you for it. Correct a wise man, for he will appreciate you for it.

Don't be like the Qularr. They would not last one round in the Interstellar Galactic Arena...

Good to know. Would Pestilence be a good passive if I do wind up going offensive?

Pestilence, Ice and Fire Form are all nice for offensive Infernal.

Another question, does the healing from Devour Essence scale with any stats?

It scales with the Damage that DE does, so with your Superstats and your Crit Rate.
Also you should pick maybe Defile for the debuff that also increases your DE Damage
