After some testing on PTS today, we've decided that the next phase of the Destroid Invasion needs to wait until midway through next week. We'll announce the exact time when we're sure.

Thanks everyone who jumped in to help test!

I really hope the Mega Destroids are beatable now. I'd hate to have Millenium City being destroyed because no one can harm them or survive a single attack from them. That shouldn't be the way for this game to go. :frown:

Trust me the Devs really have listened to players this time round, mobs and everything are alot more managable this time. With the amount of Destroid pwn that will go on, Dr. D will be crying so much. It is extremely challenging if enough people are not present but with the right amount of horde, they are beatable.

Only some smaller issues need to be looked into before it hits LIVE, as far as I know.

But honestly as an AT player, I cannot wait to try this. The current state means my healers might survive

Yeah, this is one of those rare times when I can say "that could use a slight tone-down". Mostly, those poor ATs. Especially melee, eef.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

PTS has just been taken down for an update, no doubt to activate event. I suspect DEVS will be on as well after patch comes through.

    I know I will :D

I have to admit, this is the first time I've heard of any invasion force being held back because it was too powerful and unsporting, but I can jive that.

And now, because this thread seems a bit drab, I have just written a rather rubbish reworking of a standard yearly christmas song for this Event.

Oh, it's beginning to look a lot like war...
    Every street you go...
    The Destroids will stomp,
And Dr Destroyer's armour's kinda pomp,
You better be ready or he'll get ya!

Oh, it's beginning to look like war...
    Every street you go...

    You'd better retcon your builds,
    and rework your character descriptions,
Because there's gonna be a lot of des-truct-ions!

Oh, it's beginning to look a lot like war....
    Every street you go...

    You better save the day,
    Or Destroyer'll make you pay,
Today will be the testing hour,
for everyone with or without power,

Oh, it's beginning to look like war...
And it's on every... street... you... goooooooooo!

Thank you, thank you, please throw all rotten tomatos at the compost bin, and please, give thanks to your devs, you know you love them really.

Personally I'm thankful not just because they're taking their time but also this gives me another week to rush a character to 40 for the event.

But its not late, its been changed over just nothing is happening

Its now over 12 hours since phase 1 stopped (no destroyer and destroid invasion in ren centre every hour) and nothing...

A delay (again) would be ok, but thats not whats happened

Thanks for the reply but when is that?

Its listed as started in the featured events (sep 25th - oct 2), and phase 1 ended over 12 hours ago...

Ive been waiting around for this all day because of those 2 events (and the announcement it was to start today in the forum as well)

Should go from phase 1 to phase 2, not phase 1 end then wait then phase 2 as well.

The event will probably be patched in on Thursdays maintenance window. That's their normal weekly window for updates.

Well as it was announced as starting today and is listed as the featured event starting today, some announcement saying it isnt and when it is starting would be nice!

    From joy?

AT's my bum, I went in with a clearly overpowered freeform and got stomped. Repeatedly.

I don't think I've been 2 shot by anything that wasn't specifically coded to 1 or 2 shot things until these Mega Ds (besides other players). The only ones that weren't violated were the god tier builds out there who, as usual, just abused everything in sight lol.

Not to mention the now pointless facebook post. Most people were expecting the event to kick off today, now it's later in the week. Something tells me it'll bug during the event and end sooner. *sigh* oh well still like the game... parts of it.

With the amount of Destroid pwn that will go on, Dr. D will be crying so much. It is extremely challenging if enough people are not present but with the right amount of horde, they are beatable.

But honestly as an AT player, I cannot wait to try this. The current state means my healers might survive

I recind the highlighted bit. I doubt any AT apart from a insane CON Behemoth (15k+hp) or a super dodge Master AT will be able to survive in Melee range. Unleashed's, Fists and whatever else melee which is out there will get totally roflstomped and turned inside out by these Mega D's.

For Ranged it will be most likely left to flying soldiers at the end limit of their sniping range, will simply smoke a cigar then lock on and snipe . Real 120ft powers will excell for ranged AT's, so basically Sniper Rifle on Soldier AT xP.

That being said...I can (with great relief) say that at least ONE of my healers will be able to survive with a well timed block. My Mind AT. I quick geared one on the PTS and was amazed to find that TK block Rank 3 + (rubbish gear) AoRP could reduce a 19k hit to 2.7k. This was a very happy turn out for me. So at least my telepath will be able to be of some assistance during this event :3.

I noted that they seem to use Destroyer Wave in well timed succession, i.e. One attacks with D Wave allows for aftermath victims to fall from ground as soon as we start to get up other one fires off D Wave.

I know this idea of mine might be a "dumbing down" mechanic for those who like this content, BUT can we have a mechanic which works if we successfully block the Mega D's attack we return electrical damage to the Mega D which does 50 electrical dmg per successful block? Called Destrium Overload or something. Basically as if they themselves also take minor damage from the D Wave.

I'm not sure where I got the damage return on block idea from but I think it would increase the effectiveness of blocking and more people would block and survive. Which means in turn less deaths, which in turn also means quicker pwning.

I just hope the Nega Champions dont arrive with Dr.GCrush! He puts Destroyer to shame!:wink:
