Hi, I am relatively new to CO, but I like it a LOT better than DCUO. In fact, the only thing that I think that DCUO got right was the battle system(liked being able to choose a weapon regardless of power set). I know that it likely wouldn't work here, but it would be cool if Cryptic could implement that system. I have two toons here currently. Dwarf Star@cerebrum222 (lvl 18 Radiant, I think lvl 18 anyway) and Cerebellum@cerebrum222 (lvl 14 unleashed)
I started playing this game with a friend of mine, and once we get enough people going, we plan on starting a super group together, which she has already picked a name for. If you would like to play Champions, and I am online, I am certainly will to play.
Trading:
AH (Auction House) located in Millennium City's RenCenter and Vibora Bay's Docks -- market demand controls the prices
Questionite Exchange (from your GUI anywhere anytime) -- Q to Zen, or Zen to Q.

Welcome!
Seems like you have already made two good choices, the most powerful Healing AT and the most Powerful/Annoying PvP Melee AT.

And welcome and hope you have fun!
Thanks for the welcome, and that goes for all of the others who posted. If I ever get Freeform, I intend to combine powers from Sqall, Specialist, Psionic, and Unleashed. Will take me a long time since I will only ever be able to get zen from either questionite, or from those PWE free zen things.
Welcome to Champions Online! Don't forget to Block! (tm)

IF you ever choose to go freeform, you will not regret it. a HUGE amount of choice opens up. not just from amongst powers from archetypes, but a there are a very significant amount of abilities that open up that silvers have no knowledge of.
But regardless of if you do or not, i am certain you will continue to enjoy the game. welcome!
and the biggest rule of them all,
Have fun!
If you are having fun, no matter what anyone else says, you are doing it right.

On the whole, this is one of the friendliest internet gaming communities around. Although MC Zone chat can fool you sometimes, so don't pay attention overmuch to that.

Careful... Freeform is power at your fingertips for creativity, but you can actually make a freeform that is worse than a premade theme build like an archetype if you ignore the synergies between certain powers.
The motto for theme builders and min/maxers alike is "test, test, and more testing!" When in doubt? Test it. Not sure if the description on the power is working as intended? Test it. There's a fun mini-game to Champions Online with freeform if you like coming up with powerful theme builds (theme meaning where the powers make sense together from a lore and/or aesthetic sense).
My recommendation is to start out with archetypes and learn & listen. Once you got a feel for the game, go freeform and be prepared to be blown away with the complexity.

Like that in any game.

I have had a very specific super hero in mind for a VERY long time. If it takes me a million tries I will still have to get his powers right. I also already have a back story, and a lot of other things as well to go with it. He is primarily psionic, so I might be able to drop the unleashed once I get the pistol and sword capabilities of the Specialist available, but he also has a few wind based techniques, which is why I need Squall.

Will ask around if I ever get to the point I can make this guy.
That's one of the really brilliant benefits of the Questionite Exchange: some people have more time, some people have more money. It's win-win.
It also gives you something to aspire to after reaching level 40 (which isn't hard to do).
Also, I strongly recommend avoiding the "free offers" and only do the surveys; many of the free offers things are phishing scams.
Thanks for the info, and hopefully will see you in game.
I am also here from DCUO, but I liked that game a lot, might be because I was a bit biased (DC fan), or maybe because I liked the challenge of trying to create a good looking character with such a minimal choice of designs.
I ended up leaving my girls almost completely naked, but they look boss so don't fight it;
I am still downloading CO, should take 2 or 3 more hours, but I'm really excited about it, the character creator seems really boss! As an artist/someone who likes adapting his game characters to original characters, the character creator is very important to me, and the CO videos that I've seen show that you have a very vast pallet of choices in this game.
I wonder, how is the buddy system working in this game?
I always play with my best guy, and in DCUO we could shut ourselves in a personal group chat without other chats bothering us, please tell me this is also possible in CO?
If that's a stupid question and all MMOs work like that, then bear with me, I haven't played any games since I was like 13, pretty damn rusty over here.

Keep in mind, the costume creator is dumbed down for new players. So you don't open up all your free options until after level 10 or 11.
You can team with your friend and then use just the team chat.

You can create custom channel only for you and your friend and then set a new chat tab for it. This way you always have a private chat no matter if you are in another team, or not.
Yeah, when your first toon hits lvl 10, you'll want to make haste to a Tailor. You won't freaking believe the options you have then. And you should have plenty of Resources on hand by then to play with (tip - if you pick up an item that you can't use, you can sell it to a Vendor or a Collections Agent).
Fortunately, for each subsequent toon on your account the options will already be open.

Thanks for the information!
So, if I unlock these options at lvl10/11, does that mean I can change my character at will anytime?
Welcome!!
Keep in mind, there are also even more costume thingybobbers that you can unlock in game or get from the store (which requires either real money to buy Zen or an investment in time to get Questionite to then exchange for Zen).
So even at level 10 there's even moar!!!!!
On an unrelated note, re: combat - try CO with a gamepad (unless you're using pets). Changes your world. Wired 360 controller works native, others may require some keybinding, but totally worth it. You'll still need to use the KB+M for inventory and tailor and stuffs, but for combat the controller is wonderful.

Enjoy the tailor, the alerts, the missions and the lovable MC Zone Chat.

Thanks, I will be getting on for the questionite event later today, hopefully my friend will get to do so as well.
