So, there isnt much reason to visit hideouts besides RP. And the Nemesis system hasnt gotten anything new in a while. So how about having a daily or weekly mission where our Nemesis attacks our hideout!

Sounds like exactly the sort of nefarious thing a villain might do, though!

Maybe for you. I tailor there, I use my shared bank a LOT, and I use the penthouse as a free "teleport to ren center" device.

    Hell no, I'd hate this.

Nah a real villain would hide in the bushes outside take picks then sell them to the papers :D

But yeah my jesting aside nem attacking a special instance of the hideout I would be signed for.

But not the real hideout instance I use mine for SG meetings.

Idea has a lot of merit some interesting things could be done like the Nem hijacking the moon base deathray ..it could all be hideout context sensitive ^__^

How do you do that? Also, on a different note, I've got the moon base hideout but cant go to the 2 outside rooms. Anyone know why they are blocked off?

    That's a negatory.
I don't want to get my hideout locked when the nemesis somehow glitches there. Like what most likely happens considering all the crap is going on with the Nemesis System.

And all the feeling pretty and dresses and stuff.

They were created for later add-ons. They're empty, right now.

As for how? Jump off the roof, lol. Toward the street. Or fly. Get far enough and there's a transition option.

    Love this idea!

Would love to see a more in-depth, active and varied Nemesis system, and this would be a great mission!

I too like this idea and have thought that it would be a nice addition but I know a lot of people do use the hideouts for bank or tailor, or even role-playing. A way of getting around this would be to have the assault on your hideout be a separate instance to your actual hideout.

The mission could be acquired from Socrates informing you that your hideout is under attack, and then give you access to the fight. This way, if you don't want to have your nemesis bother you, you can still do your everyday activities within your hideout. The only reason I mention it coming from Socrates is because Socrates is a computer and would probably have a connection to your hideout. However, it could just be available from the current Alert mission provider.

Even though the OP only contained 3 simple sentences, it seems many people did not actually read them. Allow me to highlight 1 of those 3:

This would not be some constant 24/7 occurrence that would interrupt all your little RP dress up time, it would be an occasional thing. It could possibly even be a new Alert type where you fight someone's Nemesis in that person's Hideout.

The only issue I have with this alternative is that it ruins "surprise" element of walking into your hideout and suddenly being sprung by your Nem and their minions. Having it as a selectable missions would just turn your hideout into just one more mission map, and a small one at that--kinda like an Alert.

I would much prefer some sort of "safe mode" hideout option, if possible, that prevents surprise attacks from your Nem if you have it on at the time you enter your hideout. Otherwise, any time you enter your hideout there's a chance you will be attacked by your Nemesis, their minions, or both--maybe even one of those random villains that sometimes show up at your nemesis missions that get sent by them as an assassin.

Also, the hideout Nem confrontation doesn't have to be a fight to the death thing, it could just be a trigger event that leads to more elaborate missions--if you bring your Nem down to like 50% health, they just run away and leave a clue behind, which you can select as a regular nemesis mission.

It could possibly even be a new Alert type where you fight someone's Nemesis in that person's Hideout.

That actually sounds like an awesome idea. I'm just not sure how feasible it would be to make separate instances to go with how any given person has their Hideout set up and I don't know if the basements would be big enough for five people, a nem and mooks to fight in.

maybe they could finally open up the other rooms, then you could fight some mooks in the main room we have now then go to the would be training room to fight the boss or something.

Of course the inevitable thing is that half of these alerts will end up being against Stitches or High Voltage in Mom's Basement or whatever they decide the "default" hideout for toons that have no nem to be.

In any case I'm all for adding more functionality to the hideouts.

Once is already too much, imagine if the nemesis glitches again and you get the "fully heal out of nowhere" bug. Yeah, that'd be fun. Trying to tailor and suddenly you get kicked out, lose your costume, and get roflpwned by a boss that you can't physically kill. It's a bit of a heavy presumption to assume that we didn't read his post. Consider, maybe, that we did and *still* don't like the idea. It's a pretty terrible hideout if every nemesis you have knows exactly where it is.

I like the alert in the hideout thing, but think of logistics. how the flaming hell would you fight a nemesis in the cave? You've got like 4 square feet of room to move, that'd be AWFUL.

    *snip*

Like I said, maybe they could add a "safe mode" option (and have it On by default) that prevents Nemesis from showing up at your hideout at all. They could also include additional safe guards, such as checking for a Nemesis confrontation only uppon entry. So that whether or not there will be a confrontation is determined only when you first enter your hideout, which takes you to the appropriate Nemesis instance. If not (or if you're on "safe mode") you go to the regular instance and can stay indefinitely without problem.

Though, I agree that the "hide" portion of your hideout would be pretty suspect if your nemesis can just find you there. But a nemesis figuring out a hero's home location or hiding spot (or one of them) has been known to happen. If you feel that your hero has a really secret hideout you could just leave "safe mode" on all the time and only fight them through other means, or perhaps by using the Hideout Alert* if done as an additional option.

*they could do this similar to the current Nemesis Smash Alert, only in addition to using your Nemesis it also uses your currently selected hideout as a map. They could do it as a new special alert that gives you Nemesis tokens as a reward.

Ack! No! You all stay out of my hidey hole. The last thing I need is a bunch of dirty unwashed ruffians messing up the place.

Besides, its a small source of a personal guilty pleasure for me. You would honestly be shocked how many folks seem to forget zone chat, broadcasts on ALL instances of a zone. And on a busy night, there can often be several instances of a hideout active...

Oh the things you can hear. I'm personally compiling it all for future black mail. You all know who you are.

Turning them into combat zones with some noob shouting "Stop Knocking!" might or might not spoil the whole mood.

Well, the only thing I use my penthouse for is a shortcut to MC,so my nemesis cutting me off from that would be a bad thing indeed, not to mention the hideout being account wide,so none of the characters could go to it..

I'd be more open to this idea if it involved Super Group bases and the Nemesis wasn't necessarily ours but someone's in the SG. In turn that would generate a SG/Nemesis team mission for you and your friends to accomplish.

Regardless, if the OP idea were to be done, I'm so making a Jehovah's Witness Nemesis.

    HECK NO!

Hands off my hideout - it's a secret, and for several of my characters it's attached to the family home. Since my main nemesis is a murderous psychopath...:frown:

If my Nemesis finds my hero's hideout, that also means (s)he knows their secret identity. For some of us that is a huge deal, and having the game arbitrarily decide that our secret is blown would absolutely suck.

It also completely ruins it for RP if the server throws in a completely unrelated encounter. We need more RP space, not less, so please don't diminish the usefulness of hideouts for RP.

I understand the OP wants cool stuff to happen, but this could ruin everything that some of us enjoy about hideouts.

...But NOT my personal hideout, also what if they attack just as you are stepping out? They spawn and you leave and they are locked inside until you come back...they would have TOTALLY raided your fridge by the time you return...urgh..imagine all the mess..from the minions...and your electricity bill would probably be higher...

But in all fairness, personal hideouts no, SG bases YES, but only IF! there were 4 or more members in the base with you or perhaps if the minions came along like they did in the Open world.
