Mysterious Beings Spotted Over the Weekend, Who Are The "Infinity Men"?

(OOC: The following post is an IC news article I created originally as part of an upcoming event for my RPSG, but I'm sharing it with everyone in the community as something their characters can get to know about)
Countless eyewitness reports from both Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo poured in over the weekend, detailing similar sightings of a team of several mysterious beings performing environmental and heroic acts.
It all started on the morning of September 14, when numerous eyewitnesses in downtown Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, called local authorities and stated there the three humanoid beings hovering above the busy streets for several minutes. The three beings, male humanoids in appearance and each garbed in what can be best described as ?matching costume-like uniforms that had light to medium-weight armor elements mixed into it as well as an infinity emblem on the front of their uniforms?, seemed to be observing the area twenty-five feet below them.
?They struck everyone with the impression that they were either aliens, superheroes or both,? said an American tourist who was vacationing in Rio de Janeiro over the weekend. ?People got out their cars and some even took pictures on their phones of the three dudes or whatever they were. Some even took video recordings.?
When the local authorities arrived along with military enforcement, one of the three beings descended onto the street and approached them with his arms up in an unthreatening manner. When who they were by the military, the male stated that he, the others were ?agents of infinity?, and that they sought to help make a difference among humanity. Seconds after that revelation, the three flew off with great speed. Spectators there dubbed the three individuals as the ?Infinity Men? when the local media covered the story on the evening news.
Late in the afternoon that same day, environmental scientists and researchers stationed deep in the Amazon Rain Forest to study recent cases of the land rendered infertile from deforestation and pollution, spotted the same three "Infinity Men" hovering about there. Unlike before, the three were joined by several other similar armored uniform-clad humanoid beings, this time one younger male and two females that sported an infinity emblem on the front of their uniforms.
?They greeted one another in a formal yet familiar manner,? said Dr. Helena Ross, a renowned environmentalist and researcher who were stationed in the Amazon for two years now. Dr. Ross was among many who witnessed the "Infinity Men" communicate with each other as they began summoning several advanced technological machinery.
What would come next would be what Dr. Ross called ?a bona fide miracle aided by highly advanced technology and superhuman means?.
?Their technology and equipment seemed as if it Earth-based technology yet it seemed too far advanced,? said Kurt DeConnick, an assistant researched of Dr. Ross. ?Two of them took to the skies with some hovering machine they activated that was about the length of a Camaro and created a cloud-factory using chilled air and electrical pulses. The rest flew off and returned an hour later, ferrying with them thousands of tons of fertile topsoil.?
From there, the Infinity Men began to spread the topsoil down the deforest regions of the Amazon as several floating devices began seeding the soil right away. A rainstorm then followed, possibly from the hovering machine that they activated, which covered not only the deforested regions of the Amazon, but the rest of the forest. The following morning, all of the deforested regions had been restored and were flourished with plants and trees beginning to grow at a rapid pace.
?They returned the next day to check everything which I then managed to get their attention,? Dr. Ross said. ?I spent hours talking with them and observing them as they checked to ensure everything with that they did wouldn?t have any adverse effects. Safe to say, everything is now perfectly fine.?
The Brazilian government has stated their gratitude for the actions of the ?Infinity Men?, and many officials hope to see more of the Infinity Men in the near future.

On the night of Saturday, September 15, eyewitnesses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo next spotted them rescuing over a hundred kidnapped citizens who were being held within a VIPER research facility. A battle soon erupted as VIPER tried to take on the Infinity Men with everything they had, even going as far as calling in reinforcements as well as allied supervillains to help aid them. Despite VIPER?s efforts, the battle ended in a landslide victory as the Infinity Men defeated and rounded up all of their henchmen on the scene through a combined use of superhuman abilities and the technological weaponry and gear they had. Following VIPER's landslide defeat, the "Infinity Men" rounded them all up as well as the numerous supervillains who joined in the battle, turning them all over to UNTIL custody. The rescued hostages were safely returned to their families and those injured received immediate medical care, most of which one of the "Infinity Men" provided before the team took off.
A spokesperson for UNTIL has stated that while UNTIL is appreciative for what the so-called "Infinity Men" done in both Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, they are still a weary of the mysterious new heroes and the technology that they possess.
Since the initial appearance of the Infinity Men, the Internet has been provided them more acknowledgement thanks to eyewitnesses posting cell phone videos on Youtube that they took which showcase the mysterious group helping out this past weekend. Various forum discussions and comments can be found with many posting expressing their opinions about the Infinity Men. While many are in support of the team and are more accepting, there are those who don?t trust the Infinity Men (although many of those kind of postings were laced with anti-superhuman views).
Who exactly are the Infinity Men? Where did they come from and exactly why are they here? Only time can answer those questions but for now, it is safe to say that there is a new force for good present in the world.
