Roller Blading TP!

So, I was watching this anime called Air Gear the other day, and I realized... We have the mechanics for a rollerblading/rocket skates tp pack! There could be two different types, like with distortion/displacement.

Roller blading could be an acro/athletics based TP, but with a slower, extended animation, so it looks like you're kicking and rolling. Maybe reduce the jump height. A slow momentum build (Jet Boot Style) in the athletics pose...Then full on Acro pose at full speed, leaning into your turns. And keep the flips of course, hehe.

Then, there'd be Rocket Blades! Based more on Super Speed, but with a double jump function that boosts your speed/jump and leaves a trail of smoke and flames! Blazing speed vfx when just skating normally. They'd be able to be charged to full speed, and would have the Mach Speed running animation.

Also, for both travel powers, would it be possible for riders to skid to a stop when pressing S?
I know it's alot, but if done properly, it could open up doors for all kinds of urban hero concepts!
I know it'd fit my Teen Tech hero idea for sure, without having to use Hover Disc. Cause I hate Hover Disc in fast combat, lol. But it's the only thing that truly fits my "Built in my parents' garage" Concept. Other than Jet Pack.
And the genius teen hero thing is kinda overdone, so I'd love to do a regular mid-city vigilante teen type with nothing but his Aggressive Inline Blades. Skating around, dispensing arse-kickings.
A costume pack with pads, helmets, and rollerblade variations would be excellent as well, Cryptic! Like the Jetpack set!


My ideas for Skating Combat:

The skates would be great for strafing. Lots of people rely on Acro for that snappy combat feel and quick reaction time for hitting and running. Skates could offer that speed, plus maybe a buff ADV for Roller Blades that ups your dodge kinda like Flippin'! Or a Fire Damage ADV for Melee Attacks while using Rocket Blades! O.O

There's more floating around in my mind, but I'd like to see what you guys think first!

this would make a decent TP,for some speedsters and all,like Acro and superspeed meshed together with the best bits of both,I like this idea!

that sounds cool enough. i love the idea of skating around the baddies and slashing them ^_^. Walking will never be the same haha

Sure, it would require new running and jumping animations, but I know our devs can do that - when they aren't working on something else.

For the mechanics, I ca see it more limilar to Energy Slide. Rollerblades roll, after all. It's natural to slide around a little on them, so it shouldn't be as percise as Acrobatics.

Another idea I had was using sounds effects that actually sound like a tiny motor revving up for the Rocket Skates, and having smoke come from the wheels..
So as you charge, you hear the motor revving and see smoke, then once fully charged you take off, leaving the stream of flame or sparks or whatever you guys think looks the sickest. Keep the momentum going like with Cape Glide, so you can truly feel like you shot out of a cannon with Rocket Skates.
Roller Blades should definitely build momentum like Jet Boots.

Jubilee of the X-Men had roller skates for a long time during the long period where she was almost-but-not-quite being shipped with Wolverine for no reason that was ever explained in the comics I read (aka in the 90s).
I distinctly remember her complaining about laces on them and saying "Velcro is the way of the future".
Yeah, somehow a in-comic advert has stuck with me for over 15 years.

But yeah, rollerskates have a long pedigree in comics. Remember that one Spiderman villain who had rollerskates? ROCKET POWERED ROLLERSKATES? *grins at how silly that would sound if it was outside a comic book*

So, I am for the rollerskatist revolution rumpus which really would reintroduce... gah, can't keep up the alliteration.

I believe that such a TP would be something like energy slide,or perhaps a cross between superspeed and acrobatics maybe,that way it would be a whole new TP
