430 Absence trying to come back to Might Tank

Ok, short, sweet, and to the point time.

I have been looking around the boards and have noticed that Might has taken a nerf bat since I was here 430 days ago. I want to maintain the feel of the character because Enrage has the growth component and her strength and resistance comes from her immense size.

What I want to do is Aggressive Tanking

Primarily: Tank while increasing in size with Enrage
Secondarily: Hitting like a truck

This build is just an idea of what I wanted to do with no idea how the powers work now-a-days. Be gentle because I tried to sift through the posts and there were conflicting opinions and out-dated and my search-fu is not sufficient with my knowledge-base. I know I had regeneration in the old build but I lost all those old plans over the year and several months.

You might want to look at Aspect of the Bestial. It gives you the same Enraged abilities except it functions off of Bleeds rather than Knocks. This gives you a few additional options for Enraged. You can use Bestial Supernatural and Single Blades to build Enraged stacks effectively. Bestial Supernatural works much the same as Might, only with much better self heals, DoT's and ranged abilities only working off of Bleeding instead of Knocking. Which of coerce makes it MUCH more Alert friendly.

If you don't want to listen to me, it's fine, because I myself have problems with tank builds. DPS and supports are quiet easy to build actually, but tanks are my Akhilleus heel.

Still. I just wanted to ask you few questions.

You have both defiance and regeneration in your build. For what reason? I'm not criticizing it, I just want to know are there reasons behind it?

You have 3 AOE attacks that do the same thing, AOE damage and knock (shockwave on full maintane). Are they thematically taken?

You said you want to hit like a truck. But with what are you going to hit? To hit like a truck you need truck like powers. Heymaker, demolish, annihilate. (I am actually not sure about that one, can uppercut does as much damage as those 3 or atleast close to them?)

You want to tank, but you have no self heals or/and active defences. Do you have a friend healer who will be by your side all the time?

Where's your energy unlock? With INT as one of the SS's I'd recommend you MSA.

I see no point in taking beatdown at all. Or I missing something terribly.

Protector mastery is the best for tanking in most cases.

Also, can you please add advantage points to your build aswell. They are kind of important.

Sorry, I got it confused with Resurgence.

I'm from City of Heroes and I'm used to having some diversity of powers. Roomsweeper functions as a PBAoE Cone in melee, Shockwave as a ranged AoE attack, and Havoc Stomp as a true PBAoE.

Well last I was here I didn't have either of those three and was still to mow things down

This build was slightly based on the out-dated Freeform Building Guide: Brick Framework and the only thing you really needed outside of defiance and retaliation for defending was Resurgence.

I have no idea what you're talking about at this point. When I was here last, Int wasn't even a factor, it was STR/CON/PRE. From what I've found on the boards, I put INT on there because PRE has no factor in crowd control anymore.

Yeah, I don't think I had that last year. I shouldn't try putting something together with no information so late at night. The powers were just thrown together arbitrarily not as functionality, but a thematic direction that I need chisel functionality out of.

I am not sure which mastery I'm going to go with.

No idea where to put them anymore, but I made an educated guess

Sooo, sorry, that was my bad. I wasn't playing this game 430 days ago, so I actually have no idea what was in this game back then and what wasn't. So, naively I thought you know "basics", my bad, I apologize.

I can make a fast build for you, but I am not very good at building tanks. So I will place a link here. I think that build is good, but not sure how good it is. There are few thing with that I don't agree in that build, but what do I know? I'm just someone who just got his 3rd hero to 40 in 1 and a half years of playing this game.

    Here it is: http://http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=154511&highlight=soviet

You can jusr replace invulnerability with defiance, it will work just fine.

About part when he starts to talk about gear, lucky gem and impact prism are modes. If you want to know about modes more, and about new gear in general, you probably will have to make a new thread. But in short, slotted in offence primaries lucky gem will add crit. chance. In defence primaries it will add dodge chance. And impact prism in utility... um.. not sure actually, it's or cost reduction, or cd reduction or cc resistance. But anyways, he explains it all very clearly.

    I hope this helps.

Edit: I just noticed that you edited your first post, now it looks better, but you still will need atleast 1 more heal. Conviction, bionical shielding and bountifull chi resurgence, with resergent reiki adv.(if you have some good dodge from gear) are solid examples. Take 1 of those 3. Also, it never hurts to have second active defence, but not more then 2.

Hey Regulas, welcome back. I am also a CoH, but I've been switching back and forth ever since CO launched.

This is my might tank's build: http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=149204

I went for the STR/VINDICATOR/WARDEN specs to get maximum DEFENSE, and OFFENSE, but PROTECTOR instead of VIND is also good. I just wanted to get the most damage while staying in TANK role, although hybrid with Bulwark spec might be better.

Your build actually looks alright. I'd probably just drop Roomsweeper, and one of haymaker/uppercut, and pick up Demolish( which reduces your opponents defense), and Bountiful Chi Resurgence(w RR adv). This also assumes you get the Silver champion gear with +AVOIDANCE, and a +DODGE MOD.

I dropped Haymaker, even though it does more damage, because Uppercut does knockUP, not knockBACK, so you don't have to run after enemies which makes building Enrage easier.

Also, I think they changed Havok Stomp while you were away so that it does knockUP if charged under 90%, so you can control knockback with that power as well.

    Good Luck

    -Pep
