I'm positive this has been suggested before but since the Forumgeddon I didn't see a reference to it.
Allow Gold members to 'Freeform' build our Nemesis.
Allow us to choose existing enemy groups such as Viper, Argent (My Fave), etc (I know I saw this one recently).
Allow us to 'Freeform' build our Nemesis minion's powers as well.
Allow us to custom create nemesis minion's costumes/attire.

Allowing us to choose our Nemesis' & minions' powers freeform will never happen - it'd be too easy to make enemies that are too easy or too tough. I would like to see some things cleaned up a bit, though - some Nemesis power sets grant them powers that don't necessarily seem logical - like LR for a munitions user or PFF for a gadgeteer. I'd also like to see *all* power sets brought into the nemesis system - like heavy weapons, earth, and wind. I'd also like to see the ability to customize a nemesis' weapon added, as well as the look of the Nemesis minions. I also would like to see us being able to select an existing villain group for their minions.

There are already some extrordinarily weak options, like MA & Might. Narrowing the scope perhaps by forcing selection of a defensive passive, active defense and active offense perhaps?

I can see LR for munitions, dex/ego based originally.

I think what Finn is saying, (and please correct me if I'm wrong), is that he'd like an option to simply having the choice of assigning an AT to our Nemesis instead of the other power selections, (so we could get a Devastator, Mountain, or Specialist Nemesis).

Pretty much. Creator lacks power sets.
And the 'Buff To Alert' button...
Well, people keep saying how easy the nemese are, click the button and you get the nemesis to buffed same as he is in Alerts...ofcourse the working one, not the 'UltimateRegen' or the 'Puff I'm Gone' ones.
Anything to get the Nemesis System working and not being the old toy tossed in the corner because you got a new and shiney one.
Assigning Archetypes to the Nemesis. IMHO, the main reason we're never going to see Freeform Nemesis Powers is that there's no way to make an AI that's smart enough to use them properly; however, ATs are structured enough that the AI could be taught how to use each one effectively.
Assigning a Travel Power to the Nemesis. It just seems wrong to make a Nemesis with wings or jet packs that never get used.
Assigning a crafting skill to the Nemesis. This would not be for the purpose of actual Crafting, of course; rather, it would determine what sorts of Missions you get: if your Nemesis is into Mysticism, you'll tend to get missions involving the theft or misuse of mystical artifacts; if he's Science-oriented, you can expect superscience-oriented heists; and if he's into Arms, his crimes will tend to be focused on deadly weapons and the like.
Customizing the appearance of the Nemesis' weapons. There's a workaround to this (that's broken at the moment) where you design your Nemesis' costume using the regular Tailor, save it, and then go to the Nemesis Editor and load the saved costume. It would be better if the workaround wasn't needed.
Customizing the appearance of the Minions. This might be as simple as having some control over their color schemes, or as elaborate as having the equivalent of a full-on tailor for all four types of Minions.
The Foundry. Seriously, it's a perfect fit: user-defined content centered around user-defined villains. The Gold player should be able to craft customized replacements for existing missions, such as the introductory museum heist or the endgame mission.
Some means of forcing a Nemesis encounter. The most frustrating thing about the existing Nemesis system is that I cannot be proactive: I have to wait for the Minions to attack and hope they drop a Clue before I can do anything else. For example, let me buy Nemesis Clues from the Until or Primus Recog Vendors. Make the price steep, if you must; it will still be an improvement of the current "random encounters" method.
I think another good addition to the system might be allowing for multiple Nemesis...es at a time. You could even have Nemesis Team-Up missions where more than one of your recurring enemies work together to try and take you out of the equation for good, so to speak. Depending on their personality types, they'd either work together well or just not get along at all, and you'd get to fight a mix of their minions. It would be pretty cool.
Additionally, something where you team up with your Nemesis would be fantastic as well. Or something where you get to play as your Nemesis. Since they have pre-made powersets, it'd basically just be applying a 'Become' gadget to you with the outfit tied to your Nemesis's costume. Hell, you could use this to springboard off into a whole new Nemesis Storyline system. CO doesn't have player villains, but making your Nemesis playable(and maybe even giving them social spaces?) would fill that void without requiring an entire game's worth of Villain content. Hell, you'd only need a single comic series/adventure pack's worth of missions for it to feel like a significant gameplay addition. And maybe more could come later on!
There's just so much that can be done with the Nemesis system, it's really cool, and it's sad to see it languish like it has.

1:allow us to use archetypes instead of entire powersets,so we know what we're up against.
2:Nemesis travel powers,we really need nemesis's to use TPs,the concept and character lore is half the battle too!
3:Whenever vehicles come along,allow us to have a air/ground battle with vehicles/TPs.
4:allow multiple nemesis's and arch-nemesis's that never go away...EVER!
5:on-demand nemesis missions and encounters
6:more personalities and different missions that match each, like maybe a robotic personality or beast personality, whereas robotic would be much more focused on using technology, while beast would probably use magic related schemes.
7:Perhaps a mission in which the player has to teamup with the nemesis, maybe even play as the nemesis for the duration of that mission(like us with the jets in the nighthawk mission...only temporary)
8:SG nemesis/nemesis league
9:player nemesis groups(like a group of super-villains the player has to fight simultaneously)
10:minion customization and use of already existing enemy groups as minions
Oh: one more item. When I right-click on a Nemesis (mine or somebody else's) and select "Information", only give me something like "Your Nemesis!" if the Nemesis' creator didn't bother to specify a description. If they did, present that instead.
As for things like teaming up with or playing as your Nemesis, these are ideas that are very definitely off the beaten path, and far more likely to make sense for some Nemesis concepts than for others. As such, I'd leave these sorts of things to the Foundry system, rather than as Comic Series or the like. Again, that's the beauty of tying the Foundry into the Nemesis system: you get to decide what sorts of Nemesis Missions you'll be dealing with.
