Hi there.

I've been a CoH/CoV player for 8 yrs and an off and on Champions player for the 3 yrs since launch.

So I don't ask this for me, because I'm reasonably familiar with the way the powers work and I'm helping members of my supergroup with questions and such.

But I was wondering - could we use a thread to have a consolidated "Welcome Committee" guide here in the powers forum for former City of Heroes players? Sort of a -

"Yo COH players! Look HERE first!"

- kind of thing?

I think such a guide would need to take into account the fact that CoX players are used to ATs. But with power pools and incarnate powers on the high end, they're used to almost freeform levels of customization.

So when they look here for answers, as they inevitably will. It might be nice to have a guide that shows them how to recreate things like a good tanker build. Or a fire blaster build. A lot of CoX players first desire is going to see about getting a close match to characters that they want to port over from City of Heroes.

To use one of my toons as an example - one of my favorite lvl 50s was a Dual Pistols/Energy Manipulation Blaster with the Electric Pool.

Pistols being the primary, and short range energy melee being the secondary, with a little bit of Electricity thrown in for good measure. How would you build that?

Or a Gravity/Kinetics Controller with the Psionic Pool near the end game? What's the closest to building something like that?

(like I said, I already have my own ideas on the above questions, I'm just putting them up as examples)

Which guides already have answers to those questions? Perhaps the CoX guide contributors, for example, could post a link to one of Pulsewave's builds saying "this one over here will probably help you out."

Something like that.

I know we already have "Guides for the Guides" and all. But maybe a specific place for City of Heroes players to ask questions would be good.

So what do you say?
