There should have been a Freeform token in the first place.

It doesn't work like that. The FF slot is for a NEW ff toon, you cannot retrain a silver toon into a FF while you have a silver account.

    Why would it cost more?
if an FF slot for 50.00 (which is an ridiculous price anyways) gives you an entire toon slot, then an FF retrain should be about 3-4000 Z seeing as how it only changes that toon,no new slot, name,or costume.it Just re-picks ALL of your powers to be FF

We need a token to allow silver players to convert their character to freeform.

I agree that it should be possible for someone who has purchased a FF slot to retrain an existing character into it. It might actually generate more sales. I know of at least one forum poster who has expressed an unwillingness to buy FF slots because he has so much time and effort put into his main (an AT) that the FF slot does nothing for him.

Well, for $15/mo, you can retrain all your ATs to FF, and get more character slots in the bargain. Of course, the downside is that if you ever stop paying that money, you have to retrain some of your FFs back to AT again...

...then again, there's the option where, for a one-time fee of $300 (the cash equivalent of 30,000 Zen), you get those FF slots, plus a bunch more, permanently...

...and of course both of those options come with a host of additional bennies...

or just make the game F2P so they don't have to pay a ridicules sum of 5000Z just to get something useful, making the game far more accessible for the less fortunate players.

But there is already a cheaper option.

    Yes, recurring, but cheaper!

I was so happy when I saw the Freeform Token. I actually took the time to do the Perfect World merger and actually had my wallet in my hand, ready to shell out money.

Then I saw the price tag. 50 bucks. No. No way in hell. 15-20. I'd pay that. Hell, if I really got back into the game, I'd pay that 2 or 3 times for 3 characters. 50? Hello CO, it was nice seeing you. See you around.

I agree with the fact it is ridiculously overpriced, even for a freeform slot, some of us got it for cheaper via the grab bag event!

Even for a freeform slot that thing should NOT be over 20.00 dollars,if regular slots cost around 10.00 for 2,then maybe a freeform can be around 10 to 15 for one slot. Its more reasonable than paying 50 dollars for ONE THING.

Well, except it's the ONE THING that many people cite as their main reason to go Gold. Why on earth would Cryptic want to shut down that revenue stream?

It is the one thing for me, but...

Is it possible that the loss of subscribers would be offset by FF slot purchases ? If FF slots were $20-$25 those 'suffering' from Altitis would still have an incentive to subscribe, while others might be encouraged t buy more of them.

I dont think that the current price is inappropriate, particularly since one can earn the slots in play, but I do hope that Cryptic/PWE is paying attention to spending trends and is ready to adapt their sales/pricing strategy to grow the game, and their profits. Ultimately the more money they are making with CO the more love it will get.

I played this game for about 2 years then gave it a break. Returning now finding it F2P, game was interesting but I enjoyed creating the character more than actually playing them. Speant ages pouring over champion builder making new builds then testing them out.

There is no way I'm paying that much for that experience as the gameplay doesn't hold enough for me to justify that kind of short term spend. If it was ?10 I would prob buy 2 or 3 over time. they are missing a trick here, could earn a lot more.
