I really like champions online. I made a melee power armor tank. I'm only level 15. I just started my first adventure pack (I think) its serpent lantern one from until.

As you can see I have the gist of things but am still have a lot of questions. Should I ask them here? Or can someone add me in game to help me, and maybe introduce me to your group of friends?

About me:

24 y.o. male from NJ. I am engaged to my fiance and we have 2 daughters. I work full time, and mostly play after 8-9pm EST until around midnight. I'm a Christian and can joke around or be serious not one extreme or the other. I have never RPed but would like to try that out some time.

Some of my questions (just to give you an idea):
-How do I set up voice chat? (does it work?) I see The settings but having trouble finding someone to test it out with.

-At what level should I start doing alerts?

-How do you tank in champions online?

-Are there dungeons or instances like in WoW? (or is that what alerts are?)

-How to use the Auction house more effectively (are certain stats worth more than others? What are some item types to look out for? ECT.)

-And a bunch more! The wiki has helped me understand mods and fusions, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can without having someone take their time to tell me. But I can't seem to find things like how many points of offence is better than str, for melee damage?

So I'm looking forward to making some friends, and maybe a little help. Thanks!

Drop me a friend request @eviltaco. i'd be glad to help with any questions. As well, I'm field director of S.P.E.A.R., a very active super group. I've got some friends in other groups, too, that I can introduce you to. Tell you what channels to join, etc...

Tanking in this game is all about threat. You wanna put crippling challenge and challenging strikes on some of your moves, and use them often. Other than that? It's like tanking in any other game. Hit many different people, watch your health, etc... Upside here is that you can self heal if you gotta.

There are instances. They're a bit higher level, though. Nemesis confrontation, Therakiel's Temple, Andrith ruins. The alerts are quick bursts of combat that give a special reward, it's usually suggested that you wait till at least level 15 to attempt them. Maybe 20, as a tank, I'd say.

I've never seen anyone use the voice chat in this game. It's usually vent, like everywhere else. The voice client in this game, if you aren't subbed, spams you with ads. At least, last I checked.

For build advice, there's a subforum in the powers section of this forum. Post your questions there and the gurus will give you advice. There's also a channel in game called Concepts that will help. Type Channel_join "concepts" in your chat box to join.

Good luck, and like I said, drop me a line.

Also, I think the first instance you get to do is mid 20s. Destroyer's factory, in millennium city.

I don't really recommend doing adventure packs solo. Unless you have a really durable character or a ton of health potions. The bunker boss fights can be a real lesson in frustration to the new, inexperienced, or unprepared.

That warning out of the way, they can be fun. Just don't expect to steamroll past them like normal missions. At least not the very first time you do one.

I actually beat it first run and didn't die once. The vipera or whatever was hard until I realized what I had to do. Thanks for the advice! Is demon flame harder or about the same?

demonflame is really hard solo. the end boss is all about distraction, without giving spoilers. you need at least 2 to kill him, unless you're REALLY on point.

That is assuming you can make it past the Left Hand. He can be a roadblock to a lot of builds.

Once again, not impossible. But challenging, if you don't have a durable build.
