I really wish the in-flight battle animations were interesting to me, but they are not. Legs, for the most part, just dangle there.

Just wondering, which powerset are you using with which flight power?
different powersets react to different flight powers a bit differently.
Most ranged powers don't look too bad, with good animations.
The weapons based melee powersets look about the same as if you were on the ground.
The unarmed melee powersets don't look that great.
And Bestial is just completely broken with flight. Many of the animations just don't work.
It looks good with the running type powers, though, especially the newer ones.

The worst part about fighting while flying for me is when the melee mobs get directly below you. The power animations travel straight down, and sometimes even through your own legs.

I have a much simpler animation/modeling complaint. Any human-ish female ends up with a ridiculous looking neck when at full speed flight/jet flight. It looks skinny and stretched and downright disturbing (like their necks have been broken).

All my female characters hide this with the scarf back pieces or the hood head piece.

And one last complaint that has to do with looks--I want different costumes to allow different gender. So that a female character can look feminine with one costume and be in gigantic power armor or be a huge monstrous creature that doesn't look the least bit female in other costumes.

I have used most of the powersets. I use regular flight, fire flight, or rainbow flight (jet boots too but those are different really).

I feel they are missing a "je ne sais quoi". It is hard for me to define.

I think it is this. If the action uses the legs when flight is not active, then it probably does when in flight as well (such as the spread eagle performed with conflagration). Those animations tend to be ok.

There is a lot of powers that have animations above the waist, but not below. These look fine if you are fighting on the ground, but they do not translate to the air so well. IMO there should be a more dynamic (actiony) animations for powers in-flight. Raising one arm to throw off an ice blast (for example) in flight, while your legs just dangle there, is kind of boring, and not very action superhero.

I think flying with the single blade powers looks awesome. But, I kinda agree. I tend to fly around a lot when I'm fighting for that reason. I can't stand staying stationary. It's ugly.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.
