How about you give us back our normal accounts instead of having us have to add a perfect world account since someone has gone through and jacked all names that champions players were already using.
I'm just glad your hero name isn't restricted by names already chosen. I love that adding @<invisible username> to the hero's name allows you to have multiple players whose heroes have (technically) the same name. Could you imagine...? CO would be filled with heroes with names like SarasBoy69 and MeLoveGrimlock432 or whatever. lol
I try not complain about changes that are made to CO. In fact, I try to support my favorite game as much as possible, but what the [cuss] PWE? You called for a messed up the website. Why can't I view my characters online any more? Changed the Cryptic Points (this is what, the third iteration)? If I get my stipend and it's not enough to purchase the seemingly amped price of costumes (the costume sets are now 475, instead of 380), I don't know how loyal I can remain to CO.
It's just unfortunate there are no similar options when it comes to the creativity CO offers. I love super-heroes and I love creating them, I don't want to play any other mmo's. I used to feel like there were benefits to being a Gold member, but they keep taking away from me. I feel for those that purchased Lifetime. I understand they need to open up the game so hopefully more people will join and increase revenue, but if they bend over all their subscribers and leave us on the wayside without giving us some attention, why continue to subscribe?
Our stipend is becoming more and more useless with the Questionite introduction and why is there a possibility we can't even use it right away? Freeform was also a highlight to being a subscriber. Now, that perk is no longer existent.
I thank CO for all the fun it's given me, but PWE is destroying the subscriber's experience, please don't forget that we provide a steady, if not supplemental, source of revenue. Don't forget to balance Silver rewards without giving attention to Gold.
Cryptic's websites were superior to PW's in many aspects. Now that PW owns Cryptic, they could have taken advantage of this. But no, they had to destroy it and force their own awful layout upon us.
You do know the Stipend is 500 Z's? Costume set price is still same.
...
Yes, I've learned this. That's not my point.
PWE is destroying the subscriber's experience. They take things away from Gold and Lifetimers and give the option for Silver players to achieve/acquire what was once special. That's fine. It's even great if it brings more players to the game, extending the game's lifespan. But if I can get all that I get now without paying monthly, why subscribe?
Don't take something away what was once described as a perk without replacing it with something else.
Acutally, Gold/Lifetimers still get ALOT that silvers dont have, for example, free costume peices( alot that you have to buy as a silver), freeform for all characters(Dont have to pay 50$ just to get 1 slot in the c-store), power color customization, a FREE stipend of 500Z every month that you are suscribed, veteran awards, 2 free costume slots, 8 free character slots with the ability to gain more every time you reach 40 on a toon, some free travel powers, the ability to use the PTS, need I to go on?

And don't forget the free Retcon for every Level 40 Character .. also bag-slots. But even
without that .. simply Freeform is just sooo much more fun than have to play a gimped AT
that that alone for me would be worth the sub for me
Also .. the more character you have, the more Q you can refine per day.

This is incorrect.
Subscribers are paying for all of those items. None of them are, "free."

Its not playing with words.
When someone is engaging in misdirection and obfuscation, representing others as getting so much for free, while they or others go without, is a form of manipulation. It creates false impressions of undeserved entitlement in order to encourage and/or justify rebalancing matters.
Countering such distortions with facts is perfectly appropriate.
Im sorry, but I don't quite understand the whole technical stuff??? But to clarify, all I meant was that being Gold automatically gives you access to all of those benefits, whereas you don't have to pay an arm and a leg just to get all of them as normal accounts if thats what you were trying to do.
The point, Ashen, is that all of these are bundled with a sub, whereas merely purchasing 8 Silver FF slots (which are still a bit gimped from a Gold standpoint) would cost $100 US more than a LTS. And the LTS nets you sixteen slots, along with all the other Gold goodness...

For me its simply as talking to a Lawyer .. where everybody knows the facts, but the Lawyer
finds wrong words and makes the facts invalid.
Of course you have to pay the monthly fee .. but for the fee you get all these things.
Its simply not logical that we talk about someone who pays nothing and get more things
for "free" than another person who also pays nothing. So in that context the "free" ofc
only means you get them as extra "bonus" if you pay your subscription.
But everybody with an IQ higher than a rock should normally understand that.

If I understand correctly, that's my point. I pay for bonus items. If they're no longer "bonus", but more easily accessible, why pay a large lump sum or monthly?
I love this game. I do not like PWE's actions towards it. I don't know that the community can do anything about it, but it is an undeniably poor practice to take away the incentive to subscribe.

The incentive to subscribe has more or less become a matter of convenience to some. Where as for myself, and possibly many others too, it's more than a mere convenience. I want to be able to play all my heroes as free form without paying an arm and a leg. As well as enjoy the benefits of gold reguardless of how small they may seem at this point. To me those small things are quite a large package.
Reguarding PWE's direction with things... I'm still on the fence about it myself. I'd rather see Cryptic set loose and allowed to call all the shots on their game. Perhaps things might get fixed then.

I didnt reply to a post that referenced that.
I replied to a post in which it was stated that Golds get specific things for free that Silvers have to pay for.
d0m1nusdrak3 (heh, I just translated that cool user name actually) has since retracted that aspect of his position, and has clarified it to describe the normal function of a hybrid model MMO in that paying for the game ala carte is more expensive than a package deal, if one intends to buy everything. This is not unique to MMOs. Buy a Coca-Cola single can and compare it to the price of a 12 pack divided by 12. Buying singles will almost always be more expensive than buying the 12 pack.

You can make the argument anyway you want, but reality is that subscriptions rarely include anything more than access to the full game. But in this case, there are more perks that just really aren't available in most other games for the same price. You can call them perks, freebies or what have you, but trying to discredit them is just being silly.

Every hybrid model game that I have played has included character slots, or bags, or storage, or cosmetic options, etc for subscribers.

I didn't discredit them. The exact opposite in fact. I was insisting that they be credited.

And if you compare side to side, you will find that many rarely offer as much as Cryptic does. Claiming that you have to pay for this or that seems silly, especially in the case of lifetime accounts which pay for themselves after a time. It's trying to split hairs for no reason other than just to split them, and again if you actually do hold it up against other games, you find that Cryptic still gives way more, especially in what is offered for free as well as paying, than most other games of its type.
Seriously, no other game gives you free characters slots for just hitting 40 on a paid account, let alone the option to completely remake a character into whatever you want and role, without having to go some tediously arduous process, and maybe other factors.
