I have never made an Ice character and very few of them are seen anymore so I felt like I would try it out. I LOVE the new ice set as most of the old glitches from pre-on alert have been fixed but... I still feel like this guild is missing something.
Damage wise its pretty solid but survive-ability is iffy pre 40.
The way this build works is stacking 3 chill or forming an ice construct to blow up with shatter. Which can do some serious damage in example with cold snap on (ice forms shatter and ice barrier buff granted when you crit) using R3 Ice barrier to incread defense by 90% then using shatter to erupt it causes each layer (6) to hit in 25 ft radius for around 3500, that 21000 damage to anything around you.
All the moves in this build apply chill and or cause ice construts for shatter which is the pocket power of this build.
I really wonder how you play that with any Energy-Stat
Even with level 40 gear with max cost discount i would take DEX / CON / REC and maybe
Overdrive, so i could spam Avalanche or Frostbreath at least a good while.
The other thing i don't really understand is, what does all this stuff really help against
a single boss, where you don't have anything to make ice constructs from ?
For example Viper-X in SL .. what powers would you use against him ? And is all the
Shatter stuff it really worth it against just spamming Avalanche ? I tried it from time
to time, but it really never convinced me
Between Concentration and MSR energy is not a problem keeping my energy at around 80% without effort.
For the boss fight issue I switched snow storm for wall of ice to get a quick hit and construct with Energy storm. Usually the Ultimate attacks are forgettable but after playing around with it in the power house I found that the ice crit buff can get Energy Storm to crit over 9000+. Energy storm has a quick re-use time and works great on bosses and even causes a noticeable chunk against gravitar.
